4 is a cool "comicbook" take on Rocky (has the goat montage) but can't be compared to any other of the films; even his relationship with Adrian feels different.
Yeah 4 is a cool movie but it doesn't fit the others at all, it's not about the character but defeating communism and getting revenge on an evil dude. Very much an action Film.

The first movie is weird because it's very different from the kind of movie you'd think it is just by going off pop culture. It has its own little weird mannerisms that becoming endearing as you wind through the series, until they eventually wear down your patience near the end but still feel comfy when doing so.
I could see that, she is pretty sexy in that one. Also, anyone feel Apollo was WAY out of his wife's league? He could pull a much better looking woman in my opinion. I always thought that as a kid, and I still feel that way.

Director's cut of Rocky 4 is amazing. But I have a bit of a gripe with it. Stallone kinda hogged all the limelight instead of giving the guy who actually EDITED the movie the credit. Sure, Stallone was instructing him and making choices, but the dude actually doing the work wrangling that old footage into the director's cut is only mentioned passingly at the end of the credits. I haven't seen that cut yet and I'm looking forward to it. I love 4, even the awkward stuff like the robot(happybirthdaypaulie). Also, I always feel the need to tell this story when people talk shit about Stallone: In the 90s they used a building set for demolition in downtown Louisville as the building at the beginning of Demolition Man. So Stallone and Snipes came to Louisville(I'm sure it was studio mandated)to hype it up and we'd all watch the implosion together and get to talk to them afterwards hopefully. My dad took me and we waited for hours and Snipes showed up first. Walked past everyone, avoided eye contact and didn't stop to talk to anyone. I was really let down by that and my dad was like "Hey, don't worry about it buddy, maybe he was just busy". Stallone showed up about 15min later and spent fricking hours talking to everyone. Taking pics, signing autographs. He got to me and let me do my shitty Cobra impression(You're a disease...and I'm the cure)and he laughed his ass off. Gave me a hug and let us take a pic with him together. Talked to us for about 10min. So maybe Stallone does some suspect shit, but I'll never forget that.
It's not like he didn't credit the editor in the film or anything. But he took center stage, and even the making of documentary is all Stallone, Stallone, Stallone with the editor only seen in the background. I don't think Stallone is a bad guy, but it's just a bit insensitive is all.

I thought Rocky 4's new cut was great, and basically all the criticism I've seen is from people who preferred Rocky 4 as this ultrapatriotic cheese-fest. I always felt that aspect of R4 was completely out of character for the series.
