>125 million dollar advertising budget at minimum
>a grand total of at minimum 375 million dollars spent to produce and advertise
>Disney only gets 60-70% of the domestic box office gross and at most 40% of the international gross
>after taking away theater cuts Disney at most has earned 322 million dollars so far

Disney still needs to earn another 53 million dollars AFTER the theater cuts and this pass weekend the movie barely earned 22 million domestic after another over 50% weekend drop. Is there a chance Disney loses money on this film during its theatrical run?

      >going to see it in theaters when it will be on disney+ in a month

I’m sure they’re pissing, shitting and cumming over their 322 million uptick in profit

And right on cue here come the yidsney shills. How much are they paying you so I can account for that in the budget too.

The film was an objectively profitable endeavour, no amount of coping will change that

But it literally hasn’t been profitable yet. They spent 375 million at least and have only made 322 million at most so far. Read the OP shill

even worse, thor4 last only 2 hours due to Disney mandate, imagine how many empty "theater sessions" they have from early july to this week.

Being profitable isn’t enough. It needed to do better than Ragnarok. I don’t follow this stuff so has it been more successful by all measures than Rag?

Nope. Thor Ragnarok had a significantly smaller budget and made over 850m, this movie might not even break 700m

I think it will finish at 700-750m, maybe a little less
It won't break even but they won't lose money either

        >bluray, dvd
does people really buy those? I always watch a bin with bluray at 10$ in gamestop, global public dosen't care anymore about physical format.

        >Streaming tv and cable
        Do they money with that?

        >does people really buy those?
There are always kinoisseurs that buys Blu-Ray because collection and because of the good sound and picture quality

I think you may be right, but again, that would still be considered a failure to corporate executives. Because Rag made money, and the expectation in their eyes was that anything less than surpassing Rag is still considered a failure. If Love and Thunder doesn’t outperform Rag in theaters it is unlikely to do better in other releases. This isn’t a cult movie that builds and audience, the audience is already there. If they are turning away from it now it is unlikely to pick up on home release, let alone pass Rags home release numbers.

Its only just been released and has years of bluray, dvd, tv, and streaming sales ahead of it. plus those budget numbers may not include tax breaks or other filming incentives. Hollywood are accounting sharks of the highest order

I put the advertising at 150 million. After Endgame they said they spent 200 million on marketing which was 50 million more than they usually spend on a Marvel movie so I have a total of 400 million for the production and marketing total.

I think they are going to lose money. Even if they reach 700 million at the box office and you give them 60% of the box office they would be at 420 million on a 400 million dollar total budget. (250 production + 150 marketing) However they aren’t going to get 60% overseas so it will be less than 420 and they will be lucky to get 700 million at the box office either way.

The thing is they won't lose money once you factor in all the other revenue streams these movies make. However it is coming in below expectations which is not what they want.
