>tfw I pirated it and even gave the link to my friends and cousins and nieces so that they could also watch it for free
Feels good contributing to such a high grossing movie.
It's aesthetically pleasing to the eye and it might be the most popular fictional character from the XX century. Nintendo hates risk so they made sure the movie was okay, what one would expect from a kid's movie, and the rest is history.
But Puss in Boots 2 is the best animation movie of the last 10 years.
>movie about the most popular game character to exist >made by guys who did minions shit meaning every boomer will drag their kids to it
not really that hard, it would take effort to make it a flop
>had no competition at the box office for that month >is an adaptation of an already marketable IP >Was released by a company known for making easily profitable movies algorithmically proven to appeal to as many shit eating kids and soccer moms as possible.
Can people please for the love of god stop posting threads about this... we all know why this movie made so much money.
I feel would like to know what exact formula was utilized that in turn made the movie such a commerical success. I feel as though the appeal of the movie somehow appealed to the same sensibilities of like Mcdonalds or something, so otherwise it kind of feels like a goyslop movie.
I feel like the movie appealed to the mainstream by witholding anything really thought provoking or stimulating and there is nothing about the film that's really very novel or interesting IMHO to be sure.
I think the secret of it's success is that it's kind of mindless and a frivolous type of movie, it's kind of overly bright and cheery, the main character is this kind of oafish man.
Turning this into a movie was kind of strange given the reaction and popularity it received, certainly it's because of the fact that it's a Mario movie, but if the movie was anymore controversial then I doubt it would have been such a success so you can't say it was popular JUST BECAUSE it was a Mario movie, which is why it's kind of peculair to me.
Not (in a way the braindead masses will notice) progressive
big franchise
big names (I do think they probably lost more viewers on Seth Rogen than they gained though)
studio generally well respected by the audience the movie is actually for despite how much people here hate it
A fucking drought of anything even halfway decent
no naggers or dykes
But the Kongs are in the movie
The Kongs are literally israelite.
they are israelite, the negroes are supposed to be the toads
And Peach is the British Empire?

Pretty much unironiclly you can say that since its all about the merch sales
you can slap super mario on anything and millions of overweight, bald millenials wearing glasses will buy it
Pretty much this
Shit like "gross" and "sales" literally don't mean anything
Detective Pikachu didn't even come close to the fat fuck.
That's because Detective Pikachu looked like shit
Why did they decide to make everything look like hyper realism fanart?
Because it was released right after the biggest capeshit movie ever.

>HURRR GUYS WHY MARIO POPULAR???
Do Disney Adults seriously live in a bubble?

Then why did people on this website keep saying it would flop?
Sounds like you are a tendie that can't move on from people shitting on how generic the movie looked.
? I'm saying if it's so obvious that it wouldn't flop, why did people on here keep saying it would?
>why do retards make retarded claims
Everything else is just utter dogshit so even a 08/15 movie looks like a diamond in an endless sea of shit.
FPBP
It was cute. If I was eight, it'd be my favorite move.

>month
It's still making money
Timing. Society has finally degenerated enough that adults are the main consumers of children's media.
whats #1
Frozen 2.
I keep forgetting that's a thing
bullshit
