It’s funny that they made the peak video player for watching anime.

mpc remains the best for watching webms in a loop (if anyone knows how to do that with mpv I'm interested) my problem with vlc is that I watch a lot of old movies and most of them don't exceed 480p and vlc always plays them on bad resolution!

          >if anyone knows how to do that with mpv I'm interested
Just type “loop” into the settings and all videos will loop by default.

I keep getting this weird pixelation whenever I pause/play movies, might be my shitty graphics card but it doesn't happen on youtube, only VLC. Fixes?

Fricking bookers on this board man.
I'm a millennial myself and have used all these players but VLC has outlived it time. Its UI is dog shit and it doesn't support any of the new formats. KMPlayer is the better player.

Alternatively, you could just stop being poor and buy a Mac. The base player on Mac is great and has everything you need, including subtitle fetching.

I'll admit I use MPC-HC because I got memed into it years ago and now it's just the default media player I have set to play files but I've never understood what, if anything, about it is actually better than VLC.

Back in like 2006-2010 era, VLC was known to be awful for playing anime episodes in 1080p. It would glitch out as if it was a bad stream(streams also sucked back then due to everyone's low bandwidth which is why everyone torrented).

MPC was the only one to not have issues until VLC finally got their shit together.

Ahh, that explains why I've never once had any issues with VLC; I'm not a homosexual so don't watch anime, and I'm not a zoomertard so I don't stream I torrent.

Because Cinemaphile has the highest level of video autism. Encoders using the highest settings, users cranking up media player settings, gotta get those barely animated, bland cartoons as crispy as possible.

mpv and mpc-hc are superior. For mpc try k-lite codec pack, it makes it easy to configure and gives you all the hq playback add ons. Way easier than trying to deal with vlc when it bugs out.
