Maybe if they ever release the director's cut but the theatrical is barely above trash. Easily the weakest 80s action movie.

Agreed, the pg-13 rating really drags down the film. The main villain is cool but the movie never reaches the height it does during the opening scene

To Live and Die in LA
    Thief
    Aliens
    Bloodsport
Predator (I think it’s just ok but a lot of people seem to love it. Any alien movie is better than any predator movie)
    Red Dawn
    Road House
Colors (not “action” per se but…)
    Salvador
Platoon (again, not strictly “action” but it’s a war movie)
Miami Vice (TV show but it honestly holds up and is worth a watch. It’s fun and influenced basically everything that followed it)

    I also like Raw Deal.

The scene in Raw Deal, I don't have my screenshots on me, but that late 80s office, man. The grey suits, the pastel pinks, the shiny golds

Cobra is great because it's like a parody mixture of 80s action movies and hardboiled cop stories but played 110% straight. I mean he even has "AWESOME" on his licence plate.
I also enjoyed Andrew Kinoson as by-the.book cop douche, and frankly, Brigitte Nielsen was pretty hot here.
