i looked at the original webcomic out of curiosity and it was patently terrible with zero production value and a lot of it was obviously traced (pic related). and yet - millions of readers and a tv adaptation. i just don't understand zoomers.

the only fujoshit i've read all the way through and thought was well written is killing stalking but that's less of a fujo thing and more of a psychological thriller with a fujo dressing
i'm not a usual reader of fujo stuff so my standards might be different, but that aside it was the art and lettering that ticked me off more than anything. the story was blah and not offensively bad (i guess, did not finish) but not enough to redeem that.
now that i think about it, in many ways killing stalking is the absolute antithesis of heartstopper
both stories are about a loser twink falling in love and ending up with a bi jock but where heartstopper and the relationship depicted in it is safe, welcoming, "wholesome", simplistic, westernized, heavily rooted in LGBT+ cultural pandering etc; killing stalking is dark, questionable, complicated, asian based, displays an extremely negative perception of LGBT+ but all those qualities made it far more engrossing
