I used to be a janitor, a long time ago. And I'd get called out on shitposts all the time, hundreds probably over the years.
But there was this one guy, this one piece of shit, that I will never forget. Always posting blacked, child actresses and twitter screencaps.
But one night, my partner’s out sick, and it’s just me. And the call comes in and it’s the usual crap. He made a thread about diversity in Wheel of Time adaptation. Only this time he's using VPN to ban evade. So I tracked down his IP, I came into his house. And I kneel him down, and I put my revolver in his mouth, and I told him, "This is it. This is how it ends." And he’s crying, going to the bathroom all over himself, swearing to God he’s going to leave her alone. Screaming … as much as you can with a gun in your mouth.
And after a few minutes I took the gun out of his mouth, and I say, "So help me if you touch shitpost again I will such-and-such and such-and-such and blah blah blah blah blah".
Just trying to do the right thing. But two weeks later he posted interracial child porn. Of course. The moral of the story is: I chose a half measure, when I should have gone all the way. I’ll never make that mistake again.

The report comes in and it's the usual crap. NSFW on a blue board kinda thing. So I flag him, DM the mods and away we go. Only that night, we're browsing the catalog, and this sideways butthole is on my board, flooding it with “Sneed”. Heh. And it just rubbed me wrong. So instead of left, I go right, into my bathroom, and I kneel down and I put my revolver in my mouth and I say, "This is it. This is how it ends." And I’m seething and crying, going to the bathroom all over myself. And I told myself to be quiet and I needed to think. And, of course, I got quiet. Real quiet, like when mommy gives me tendies. I wanted to kill myself more than I wanted to kill those bastards who had poisoned my soul. But I couldn't do it. I was going through this hell of a time and I was going to have to leave my family and friends behind. And I could only take comfort in the fact that the bastards who had done this to me would never get the satisfaction of knowing it. It was then I woke up in a terrible fever one night and I heard the voice, that seething terrible voice which whispered to me "Janny, isn't it time you cleaned up?" I plugged my ears. I shut my eyes.
