i have a belief that the constant demeaning situations and humiliation rituals that most actors are constantly doing is the real thing that makes them all crazy and hate themselves. their arrogance isnt real, its a reaction for having no self respect and despising themselves

if they acted like this from time to time instead of showing up to red carpet events in dresses, they would be much better off in life

        >she is literally introduced to the other characters by driving a motorcycle through a church window and saving them all from a threat none of them could handle
And? The motorbike is a Terminator reference. What do "other characters" have to do with anything? From Terminator 2 onwards, the human characters try to do something, and fail, then the T-800 shows up with a shotgun or crashes a helicopter into the bad Terminator and says, "I'm back."

What you're basically dealing with is fans of the videogames seething that Anderson rewrote Jill into a new character and made her a bioweapon. Alice is based on Todd from Soldier. The ultimate soldier. Civilians need to stand aside because "Soldiers deserve soldiers, sir" and "I'm going to kill them all sir." Except Alice says, "I'm going to kill every last one of them," so she's not exactly the same character as Todd.

It's influenced by the Anderson films, but it's ultimately more of a teenage drama with tacked on post-apocalyptic scenes.

        Anonymous

A Mila role in the show would be pretty cool tbh, she was always the heart and soul of the films which would otherwise have been a complete mess (as opposed to the fun mess they were).

        >The Netflix version is perfectly okay

I was barely able to get through the first episode and I say that as someone who has seen every Anderson movie at least twice. Does it get any better or is there something I'm missing here?

The show has a weirdness to it but I enjoyed it overall. There's a pretty classic episode where they solve puzzles to unlock a lab and the fat Umbrella guy in the future clearly put on all the weight by chewing the scenery. His main episode is a lot of fun. Also trenchcoat Wesker is in it for like eight seconds, teleporting and sunglasses indoors and everything.

Hated the first one as a teenager and gave up on it there, but went back as an adult and eventually got around to watching all of them. They're definitely bad, but there's a lot of fun to be had watching them which makes up for any technical shortcomings. Surprised the second movie is so widely hated since that was the closest to the games and it was my favorite since it feels the most like a true zombie movie.
Anderson's Mortal Kombat has always been a favorite of mine though.

Apocalypse is the worst made film in the series because it had a director who was bad at his job. It's basically a post-production salvage job and Milla didn't like making the movie due to how badly everything was handled. It's also too fixated on being like the games, which is paradoxically why some people rank it so high. Resident Evil was always at its best being distanced from the games, which is why the first film and Extinction are such strong entries.

Anderson claims that he planned a lot of Resident Evil plot points since the first movie, and didn't tell anyone, not even Jovovich. For example, he claims Alice being a clone of an Umbrella founder was always planned. The one asspull I don't buy is the security room in the Hive being a secret elevator to an entire secret complex. Umbrella had to keep the Red Queen in the dark about "the plan", so her knowing about the cryo-storage and stuff would have raised red flags.

I remember seeing this in theaters as a kid, being a big fan of Resident Evil 3, and Nemesis being my favorite enemy in all the games. They give him a cool intro in the movie but then to see Milla Jovovich beat the shit out of him in unarmed, hand-to-hand combat, making him look like a big joke.
