This is just Lost 3.0
They're throwing lots of stuff to the wall to see what sticks for future episodes and will ignore anything that didn't and don't even explain half of what stuck. Frick, they even had the radio shit like in Lost
I liked the first episodes and the innitial premise but the more they started to add in the quickest I lost interest
Her death was so telegraphed the character broke the 4th wall to tell us she was going to die
Man, I thought it was going to be a red herring over how fricking obvious they made it. All tropes in the book were thrown on this character
Can someone explain me the stones/talisman? First they say you need to have all windows and doors closed and the stone inside and that way monsters can't enter Later episode they open the door of a closeted room (which means the remaining of the house should still be protected) and the monsters are able to run free in the house. In the same episode they close a door of an inside room in that same house and are now safe And in one of the latest episodes they have a cave without doors or windows and the monsters couldn't enter because inside there were stones
I think it's meant to be more symbolic as opposed to actually having a physical structure blocking the monsters from entering, showcased with the cave having a bunch of vines over the entrance symbolising a door.
As for the scenes in the mansion, the window is opened granting the monsters access to the house, later on when two of the characters seal themselves in the entrance way, I think it works because they are creating an enclosed space by closing the door and hanging a talisman on the wall.
The talismam was already hanging she only touched it as some kind of pray. They only closed the entrance door, if it was "they made an enclosing inside the house" that already existed prior because the only window open was the one in the bathroom and the rest of the house was closed, including the door in the bathroom. Pic related:
Just re-watched the bathroom scene and I see what you mean, they intentionally show you the guy closing the bathroom door. Maybe it's just inconsistency from the guys writing the show which to be honest wouldn't be a great surprise.
I like it but it is just following lost step by step, throwing a bunch of random shit they will never explain which will be lost amongst all the non interesting character drama, and the show will probably end without giving any explanation to anything saying "maybe from was the friends we made along the way" or some inane shit
I really liked it, but I have this nagging thought in the back of my head wondering how are they gonna manage to frick this up. They are either gonna explain WAY to much or not enough.
They will never explain the plot hooks. The character drama is badly written and acted. Still worth a watch if you don't have anything better to do.
