You're right, TOH ending has more similarities to the Battle of Mewni special than Amphibia ending. Both characters sacrifice themselves, get a power-up, unlock their maximum form, melt the villain and then is finished off by a secondary character.
Matt is an actual talented showrunner who carries himself by having a successful career solely through talent and merit, something that a hack dana turdrace will never have.

Given that their best ideas for Season 3 were having Libby defeat an evil Persian with the power of israelite and Ollie going insane and trying to purge the ghost world from the inside, maybe 2 seasons was enough.

Funnily enough, this scene is probably the only time I can remember on this show that Hailey actually felt like she was in danger. When that Ugly Bastard Jr. was bullying her. Other than that, Hailey really faces no major problems or adversity. The Chaos bots explode like flood combat forms when touched and never actually cause injury to anyone. I think that's the main problem Haileys On It had. There are no stakes, Hailey either wins or the world ends, there is no real in between.

It's been said numerous times over the last previous threads, BCG's ratings generated off of number of rerun timeslots it gets on the channel and on D+ when there's no new content months after the latest releases. But like the other DTVAs, it does fairly average to fairly poor. Merch of the show remains a mystery beyond anyone knowledge.
DTVA feels like the black sheep of Disney, what with the lack of merch, tie ins, references in other media or the parks, etc.
Which is a shame because it's the best content coming out of their decrepit content farms these days.
And i really hope Nelson Peltz and his people know that and realize how much money is being sat on. Bob Iger has been treating their best entertainment division like dirt.
Obviously I don't have access to Disney's income statement, but I honestly can't see DTVA as being anything more than a giant money pit at the moment, which was fine when Disney was making money hand over fist with Marvel movies or whatever, but not so much now with so many flops and they have to watch every penny.
There's hardly any merchandise for DTVA shows (which I think is incredibly stupid), so you're not bringing in revenue that way. I can't see shows like Hailey's On It being a reason for many people (if any) wanting to subscribe to Disney Channel or Disney+, so it's not bringing in money that way either. It sucks, but DTVA at the moment is definitely more expendable than a lot of Disney's other branches.

Those show have the appeal towards being merchandise driven plus something like Phineas And Ferb had influence among general audiences of all ages despite being made for children, but it did without being solely limited to just appeal to 6-11 year old on a limited scope. Shows after P&F or Ducktales, didn't have the same appeal it needed to be in order to reach the status P&F got during the peak of the series. Big City Greens was the only show that tried to get the same appeal as P& F did but falls short in some ways.

That's true, and if we were to take a step back and try to look at it with some emotional distance, it's plain that shows like Owl House or Hailey's On It are done by a certain type of person who, to put it charitably, are not pragmatists. The people pushing to greenlight these types of shows are also not pragmatists. Because of that, they don't make shows that do have mainstream appeal. In fact, it often seems that the more neglected a show is, the better off it is. Big City Greens is one of those shows. I would even include Kiff in this category.
I don't want to attack people like Dana. Artists typically come with a level of passion beyond the norm, and they're better artists for it. But this is the same person who posted a picture of herself giving the middle finger to Lego playsets made for girls. Imagine being a toy company ceo coming across that. Is that really someone you'd want to work with? Someone to take a chance on, even though the ratings aren't exactly spectacular to begin with?
According to Matt Braly (Amphibia guy), multiple companies had reached out offering to make merch only to be ignored or declined. There was even talks of a video game that I imagine fell through the same way. Marcy's Journal came about because Tokyopop reached out to DTVA first.
What merch we do get seems to be limited to whatever companies DTVA has relationships with, which is why Dana Terrace (I know, but I don't see why she would lie about this) was pushing for TOH Funko Pops because according to her that was the only available option, presumably for toys/figurines.
Fact is, with Star Wars Disney never has to give a shit about merch ever again.

I'm one of those fans and it's pretty disappointing how Disney has handled that series. Even if there aren't too many fans of it, they still have respect and say it's better to have it than not. Nu-Ducktales fans are still whining about how they didn't get a fourth season (and that series itself turned out to be terrible, especially the third season), instead of being grateful that their show managed to get three seasons and 74 episodes in total, while Legend of Three Caballeros only got 13 episode where they accidentally dropped it and it became a bit of a hit on the internet, and then it went silent until they showed it on Disney XD, and again it had less audience than Ducktales.
That was the last Disney series (along with Paul Rudish Mickey) that I enjoyed and it's a shame that it didn't get a chance for a second season, and people need to know that this is no longer Disney Afternoon time where for one season, you could even get 65 episodes, and that Disney supposedly follows trends and will stop airing all of theirs very soon, which is not in trend. A part of me has trouble believing this considering I've only recently watched Phineas and Ferb for the first time and am impressed by how good it is. I can't imagine how they could mess up another season of a show that solid. But looking at how Milo ended up and how Gretel's show is just chugging along, I can't help but think you may be right. Yeah, of all the recent "brown girls" of Disney, Anne is by far the least attractive. Funnily enough, this scene is probably the only time I can remember on this show that Hailey actually felt like she was in danger. When that Ugly Bastard Jr. was bullying her. Other than that, Hailey really faces no major problems or adversity. The Chaos bots explode like flood combat forms when touched and never actually cause injury to anyone. I think that's the main problem Haileys On It had. There are no stakes, Hailey either wins or the world ends, there is no real in between.

It's been said numerous times over the last previous threads, BCG's ratings generated off of number of rerun timeslots it gets on the channel and on D+ when there's no new content months after the latest releases. But like the other DTVAs, it does fairly average to fairly poor. Merch of the show remains a mystery beyond anyone knowledge.
DTVA feels like the black sheep of Disney, what with the lack of merch, tie ins, references in other media or the parks, etc.
Which is a shame because it's the best content coming out of their decrepit content farms these days.
And i really hope Nelson Peltz and his people know that and realize how much money is being sat on. Bob Iger has been treating their best entertainment division like dirt.

Obviously I don't have access to Disney's income statement, but I honestly can't see DTVA as being anything more than a giant money pit at the moment, which was fine when Disney was making money hand over fist with Marvel movies or whatever, but not so much now with so many flops and they have to watch every penny.
There's hardly any merchandise for DTVA shows (which I think is incredibly stupid), so you're not bringing in revenue that way. I can't see shows like Hailey's On It being a reason for many people (if any) wanting to subscribe to Disney Channel or Disney+, so it's not bringing in money that way either. It sucks, but DTVA at the moment is definitely more expendable than a lot of Disney's other branches.

This is really the problem. Disney's culture factory is built around synergy (See the Movie! Ride the Ride! Buy the action figure!), when it's missing it causes the property to fall out of scope. It's doubled when DisneyChannel is basically a zombie at this point due to the death of linear TV.

This threshold is higher at Disney, but it's there, and some shows meet them. There is still a ton of Phineas and Ferb merchandise. Sophia the First and Tangled the Series got a few dolls.
Fans, especially when congregating on Cinemaphile or on social media, can easily get the impression their favorite show is more popular than it really is. It's completely understandable. But Disney itself knows better than to count on a few dedicated anons posting generals regularly.

Those show have the appeal towards being merchandise driven plus something like Phineas And Ferb had influence among general audiences of all ages despite being made for children, but it did without being solely limited to just appeal to 6-11 year old on a limited scope. Shows after P&F or Ducktales, didn't have the same appeal it needed to be in order to reach the status P&F got during the peak of the series. Big City Greens was the only show that tried to get the same appeal as P& F did but falls short in some ways.

That's true, and if we were to take a step back and try to look at it with some emotional distance, it's plain that shows like Owl House or Hailey's On It are done by a certain type of person who, to put it charitably, are not pragmatists. The people pushing to greenlight these types of shows are also not pragmatists. Because of that, they don't make shows that do have mainstream appeal. In fact, it often seems that the more neglected a show is, the better off it is. Big City Greens is one of those shows. I would even include Kiff in this category.
I don't want to attack people like Dana. Artists typically come with a level of passion beyond the norm, and they're better artists for it. But this is the same person who posted a picture of herself giving the middle finger to Lego playsets made for girls. Imagine being a toy company ceo coming across that. Is that really someone you'd want to work with? Someone to take a chance on, even though the ratings aren't exactly spectacular to begin with?

According to Matt Braly (Amphibia guy), multiple companies had reached out offering to make merch only to be ignored or declined. There was even talks of a video game that I imagine fell through the same way. Marcy's Journal came about because Tokyopop reached out to DTVA first.
What merch we do get seems to be limited to whatever companies DTVA has relationships with, which is why Dana Terrace (I know, but I don't see why she would lie about this) was pushing for TOH Funko Pops because according to her that was the only available option, presumably for toys/figurines.
Fact is, with Star Wars Disney never has to give a shit about merch ever again.

I'm one of those fans and it's pretty disappointing how Disney has handled that series. Even if there aren't too many fans of it, they still have respect and say it's better to have it than not. Nu-Ducktales fans are still whining about how they didn't get a fourth season (and that series itself turned out to be terrible, especially the third season), instead of being grateful that their show managed to get three seasons and 74 episodes in total, while Legend of Three Caballeros only got 13 episode where they accidentally dropped it and it became a bit of a hit on the internet, and then it went silent until they showed it on Disney XD, and again it had less audience than Ducktales.
That was the last Disney series (along with Paul Rudish Mickey) that I enjoyed and it's a shame that it didn't get a chance for a second season, and people need to know that this is no longer Disney Afternoon time where for one season, you could even get 65 episodes, and that Disney supposedly follows trends and will stop airing all of theirs very soon, which is not in trend. So you're right about everything you say and I'm not worried about Disney at all anymore, I'll just say that fans of the 2010s series will salivate over the new series and see what it's like to be what they call a "nostalgia-moron".
