Is Newman a side character? He was in 48 episodes, that's a lot for a side character, especially when you compare it to say Puddy or Uncle Leo. I'd say he's more than that though he's still not exactly main cast.

          best jerry moments:

          > the two face and the same dress
          > puffy shirt was meh tbh
the best part is even in the final cut you can see them all break and smile and laugh because there just wasn't enough good cuts, or the best had to be saved, the laughing in that is better than anything that pug nosed fat c**t ricky gervais has

not at all, his physical comedy was overacted and over the top acting goofy and doesn't really hold up

Explain to me what's good about Elaine. I don't enjoy her character as much as the rest. I don't know why. Obviously, she's the only woman, but I don't think that's it. I think Julia acted her very well. I just don't get why the character is funny. She's okay, but almost everyone else on the show is so far above her that I'm baffled by comments like these.

she's more often than not just used as a monkey wrench to frick up peoples' plans. she has no redeeming qualities, she's selfish, and cares about nothing of significance. the only time the audience is supposed to give a shit is when she's not getting something she wants, which is moronic. you say it's not because she's a woman, but that is exactly why. she's an entitled modern woman with made-up problems.

It’s funny because they had the balls to shine a light on the contradiction of le strong independent female who unabashedly reaps all the benefits of sexual dynamics. The show doesn’t hide that she sucks or try to venerate her behavior.

Elaine isn't funny. She has two of the most obnoxious scenes in the show. The problem with Kramer is how badly flanderised he gets. The door opening "gags" are the worst example of this. Michael Richards is a great actor and physical comedian but they reduced him to just falling over and catch phrases. Elaine stays about the same throughout I would say. Also another reason people like Elaine is that they want to frick her.

In terms of American sitcoms I still see Cheers and Full House get mentioned a fair bit.

Maybe for other characters but Jerry's storylines seemed like they amused him unlike Elaine's or George's. George and Elaine were neurotic and I would describe Jerry as curious and amused. Also he never showed emotion at least not for long, he would get passed things quickly.

I think George's flanderization was actually funny and well-done. He went from a neurotic loser to a total psycho who feels good about his fiancee dying and pretends to be crippled.

      This one:

Jerry's absolute sociopathic emptiness really resonates with my empty husk of a human being.

this is exactly why kramer is not like the others. none of them would have put in that much effort to help someone else.

Kramer is the conscious of the show. Jerry acts like the conscious, when he chews out Elaine over the way she screws up Noreen's Life, or the many times he chews out George. But he also indulges George's stupid plans, eggs him on. He's quite evil, is perhaps when he looked into Newman's eyes he saw that he was "pure evil" because he saw part of himself. Kramer on the other hand, while lacking the social awareness of Jerry, truly has a heart.

I'm with George on this one

      me too.

It was just a commentary on the characters, not an attempt at realism. They just wanted to say they thought the characters were bad people and that's what they deserved

this. Except for maybe Kramer, maybe it's more comeuppance for the incredible luck he had.
      >his whole life is a fantasy camp, people should put down 2000 dollars to live like him for a week

Most relatable situation? For me, it's this. I was on a date walking outside and she just slipped it in there that she was seeing another guy.

Jerry not want to call Alec Berg too many times and missing out on tickets as a result. I hate to bother people.
And maybe when Jerry takes the pen. What is he Japanese, is he meant to politely refuse 10 times. Klompus was insisting he takes the pen, he wanted to pretend he was generous and had largess without actually expecting to give anything away. What a fraud.

Overhated, but pretty dumb. It's good the show ended when it did because the whole Seinfeld universe was becoming flanderized and ridiculous and the finale took it too far. Like you really expect me to believe they would get prison time for not stopping a mugger? And they brought all the characters back for the trial? Surely they could have come up with a scenario to put them in jail that was less contrived. I like the theory that they died in the plane crash and went to hell.

George Costanza: The sea was angry that day, my friends - like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli. I got about fifty feet out and suddenly the great beast appeared before me. I tell you he was ten stories high if he was a foot. As if sensing my presence, he let out a great bellow. I said, "Easy, big fella!" And then, as I watched him struggling, I realized that something was obstructing its breathing. From where I was standing, I could see directly into the eye of the great fish.
    Jerry: Mammal.
    George Costanza: Whatever.
Cosmo Kramer: Well, what did you do next?
George Costanza: Well then, from out of nowhere, a huge tidal wave lifted me, tossed me like a cork, and I found myself right on top of him - face to face with the blowhole. I could barely see from the waves crashing down upon me but I knew something was there. So I reached my hand in, felt around, and pulled out the obstruction.
Cosmo Kramer: What is that, a Titleist?
Cosmo Kramer: Hole in one, huh?

Most relatable situation? For me, it's this. I was on a date walking outside and she just slipped it in there that she was seeing another guy.

It's insane. And she was this thicc average looking girl with few friends, so I was sure I was gonna have her all to myself, but no. You're ALWAYS competing with at least one other guy.

And on the rare occasion that you're not she is batshit crazy.

I had a girl like that too. She wasn't batshit, but she had mental issues and she would usually cancel a date an hour before because she was "depressed" or something. It took me six weeks just to get a second date with her and I dropped her shortly after.

Why wouldn't you drop her the second she backed out of something for being depressed?

This girl at work would talk to me for hours, even delaying work some times. Then all of a sudden she casually drops "my in-laws". I called in sick the next day.

Honestly I think watching Seinfeld too much during my teens turned my personality into that of a neurotic newyorker israelite.

Great season. I feel like people don't talk about it as much as 4-5, but it's got a lot of classics.

what if kramer's whole persona was just an act so he could do things like walk in on elaine naked without knocking and it just being seen as a kramer faux pas? that would be based 2bh
