Jerry is the secret sauce
Newman is the best side character of the entire show, with Puddy being second.
>Frank Costanza not first
That's actually fair. I forgot about Frank
HOW COULD ELAINE NOT SAY HELLO?
high five
Yeah, that's right
JAMBALAYA!!
Yeah that's right.

Who’s your favorite 1-episode (or just a couple episodes) character? I claim pic related

Some of the stuff involving the pilot is my favorite shit. It wouldn't make sense for it to only last two episodes.
THE BEST JERRY THE BEST
for me it’s the master of the house
Based. Love the story about him stealing one of the knives on set.

I agree on the surface of it, but I relate to Puddy more because he's a low IQ Chad just like me.
Is Newman a side character? He was in 48 episodes, that's a lot for a side character, especially when you compare it to say Puddy or Uncle Leo. I'd say he's more than that though he's still not exactly main cast.
Is there a term for that?
He's in the Lego set, he's a main side character
George's parents are tied with Newman as best side characters. They take over entire episodes.
I kind of hate this episode but love this particular scene with Newman
seinfeld is generally not a good actor but he was great in that scene
Jerry was always the least interesting character and most limited actor of the main cast, but they made up for that by making him the straight man.
He’s not a real straight man, he’s arguably crazier than the rest.
He's ridiculously anal-retentive regarding women, it's amazing more people don't realize this
who doesn't realize it? it's constantly a plot how perfect the girl needs to be
I mean, relatively speaking
He’s like a more autistic George with plot armor
you didnt watch the show
I don't think anon was insulting him.
who of the main cast was less interesting than Jerry?
Elaine
>le funny kicks
not him, but who could you possibly rank Jerry above in the main cast? He could be have silly storylines, but was definitely the straight man compared to everyone else
>not funny or talented
>riding israelite nepotism harder than a cheap hoor
he sucks. he just fricking sucks. simple as.
Jerry is very funny. He's not George but the other 3 are all the same level
>"jerry's hilarious! just ask him!"
lmao k
Bee Movie >>>>> Sour Grapes
I dunno, the way he let things slide off him was hilarious. Like that episode where he was completely ok with his gf breaking up with him.
Elaine was insecure often, george neurotic and jerry sociopathic.
best jerry moments:
> being the mature one at the car dealership, but also completely helpless to fend for himself
> anytime he's a dandy with the fur or the stripes
> "who is this?"
> "biff"
> postman
> the whole low fat yogurt and swearing ordeal
> the checks and his parents and kramer talking about getting him into a macy's management program (or sears?)
> the two face and the same dress
> puffy shirt was meh tbh
the best part is even in the final cut you can see them all break and smile and laugh because there just wasn't enough good cuts, or the best had to be saved, the laughing in that is better than anything that pug nosed fat c**t ricky gervais has
also elaine's face is so fricking jizzworthy and I like how she laughs, shame she's a c**t
>the best part is even in the final cut you can see them all break and smile and laugh because there just wasn't enough good cuts
>elaine's face is so fricking jizzworthy and I like how she laughs,
this. Her face, facial expressions and mannerisms are to die for. But I would definitely not want to be with her or the person who plays her.
I gotta give Seinfeld credit that he never tried to do more than what he was capable of doing. He let everyone else shine around him while being really the least funny character on the show
>She was murdered! By Jerry Seinfeld!
Not only that, but I broke his thumbs.
Best episode ending for me.
Not the end of the yadda yadda episode?
refresh my memory
he was getting paid up the wazoo for basically doing nothing. he had no incentive to do anything more - not that he had the ability or natural drive to do so anyway.
remmber when elains boyfriend ate her out and couldnt play his sax because his mouth was full of her pussy juice? haha sounds gross
his tongue was worn out from going down on her.

Spotted the virgin lmao, your post is bags-of-sand tier

I legit didn't get the joke when I saw that episode.
My favorite seinfeld subplot has to be when kramer stops getting his mail and becomes embroiled in a conspiracy related to the US Postal Service
My favorite is the one where George throws someone under the bus to avoid taking responsibility for his actions.
Also contains a cool Three Days of the Condor reference.
haha Julia remember when you kissed a boy on the mouth?
honestly don't blame him. Elaine was hot as frick and it's funny how insecure they made her character. She was down to frick any guy that just gave her a compliment
God I wish that were me
childhood is thinking kramer was funniest
teenage years is thinking geroge was
mature adults know jerry was
I'm on a rewatch now where I'm seriously considering Elaine being in the top two. She's underrated
Elaine>George>Jerry>Kramer
but it's very close
George > Elaine > Kramer > Jerry
George > Jerry = Elaine > Kramer
200 IQ take
So close! Jerry is funnier than Elaine though
Michael Richards is the most talented physical comedian to ever live.
High tier but not even close
I prefer his standup. His bit at the Laugh Factory was pure comedykino.
not at all, his physical comedy was overacted and over the top acting goofy and doesn't really hold up
it somewhat worked in context of the show, but the real comedy of Kramer were all his off kilter schemes and philosophies on life and how he somehow befriended everyone
He's not Buster Keaton but yeah, he's exceptional.
Explain to me what's good about Elaine. I don't enjoy her character as much as the rest. I don't know why. Obviously, she's the only woman, but I don't think that's it. I think Julia acted her very well. I just don't get why the character is funny. She's okay, but almost everyone else on the show is so far above her that I'm baffled by comments like these.
she's more often than not just used as a monkey wrench to frick up peoples' plans. she has no redeeming qualities, she's selfish, and cares about nothing of significance. the only time the audience is supposed to give a shit is when she's not getting something she wants, which is moronic. you say it's not because she's a woman, but that is exactly why. she's an entitled modern woman with made-up problems.
Literally all the characters in the show are like that
Each of the four mains represent a different facet of the israeli mind:
George is the high strung neurotic
Elaine is the misanthropic complainer
Kramer is the sleazy schemer and hustler
And Jerry is the aloof sociopath who watches the world burn
>AND I'LL FORM... THE KIPPAH
do they combine to form pilpultron? I would also add that kramer pushes communal shit fairly often. people all clustering together and sharing things.
>she's an entitled modern woman with made-up problems
Yes that’s the point and why she’s a funny character.
>exactly like women irl
when does this become funny?
It’s funny because they had the balls to shine a light on the contradiction of le strong independent female who unabashedly reaps all the benefits of sexual dynamics. The show doesn’t hide that she sucks or try to venerate her behavior.
they're literally all like that. Its funny that it only bothers you when its a woman.
All the characters in the show are losers whose lives are undone by their own flaws. Elaine has committed the grave sin of being a female loser, apparently.
I like how she wants misfortune to happen to others
davola should have hunted her down like the lowly beast she pretends not to be
george > jerry > kramer > elaine
Yeah on rewatch you appreciate Elaine and (at least for me) Jerry more, while George and Kramer just become annoying. I think George is still arguably the best, but Kramer is the worst.
I liked George even more because he’s like everyone’s worst qualities and feelings personified and acted out, which is relatable in a perverse sort of way. Kramer is probably the worst but that’s not really saying much.
kramer is basically a nyc hippie.
>which is relatable in a perverse sort of way
This is a /George/ site. The only difference is he banged hot women but that's 90s sitcoms for ya.
Elaine isn't funny. She has two of the most obnoxious scenes in the show. The stella bit and the dingo ate your baby bit. homosexuals just like to rank her above Kramer out of contrarianism because he's a fan favorite and gets applause. No fricking shot Elaine is funnier than Kramer. frick you
The problem with Kramer is how badly flanderised he gets. The door opening "gags" are the worst example of this. Michael Richards is a great actor and physical comedian but they reduced him to just falling over and catch phrases. Elaine stays about the same throughout I would say. Also another reason people like Elaine is that they want to frick her.
i've never wanted to frick elaine. don't get me wrong, she's hot and all that, just did nothing for me.
I confess. I always wanted to frick Elaine.
omfg you fricking idiots are literally incapable of thinking beyond trying to be a contrarian. Kramer is obviously the best and everyone agrees.
This 100%
This
Just got to season 4 on my rewatch and those episodes she’s not in were a pain to get through.
I think she’s underrated because Kramer is so loud and over the top he’s the only thing you notice in the first watch. In the episode where she made Newman cry by eating his coffee cake I laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe
i have serious problem with elaine in late seasons. shes nothing more or less, just pure b***h
in my country there is problem
and George turns into a complete caricature of himself. Late seasons of any of them are pretty rough
all of them goes through the caricature mode, kramer barely speaks/acts like human, but i dont get elaine the most. completely different character
i disagree, I think George or Kramer like you said are way worse offenders of "Flanderization". One could argue Elaine was always kind of a b***h. Weren't they all?
Only early seasons, where she was actually likeable. Later seasons she became an annoying, flanderized b***h.
my favorite by far is jerry showing elaine a perfect triangle her drew but she gives zero fricks then kramer comes in and says "wow that's a nice triangle"
he*
I also like that bit. Girls just don't understand.
It’s isosceles.
Was it autism?

What the frick happened, America? Why'd you get progressively less funny?
Malcolm in the Middle should be included somewhere, especially if you include the blatant ripoff that is The Middle.
Outside of the name, I can't see how it's a rip off. It's just a shitty unfunny all-ages family sitcom for middle class and beyond people.
you can't even say that this kid was Dewey 2.0?
No, but I can say I fricking hate him and his stupid face. Same with that girl with the big mouth.
>Norm was there once, therefor it was good
nah, even TBBT is funnier than this shit
>once
He was the dad’s brother
Okay, doesn't change my opinion on the show. I doubt Norm could save that dumpsterfire.

Cherrypicking
I'd say Always Sunny is a kind of modern Seinfeld turned up to 11 (the "all characters are buttholes" aspect at least).
We are newman
>Jerry dated his sloppy seconds
I wish I could be CHADman
Is Seinfeld the cut off for what series people talk about still? I feel like no one really talks about any sitcoms older than Seinfeld.
In terms of American sitcoms I still see Cheers and Full House get mentioned a fair bit.
Seinfeld is probably the most enduring though, it's still just as funny now.
The sitcom is a dead genre at this point. Unless you include animated sitcoms like Futurama.
You kept making all the stops?
this is exactly why kramer is not like the others. none of them would have put in that much effort to help someone else.
I like how amazed George and Jerry are, they can't take their eyes off him
Hahaha
they honestly weren't all that spectacular
say that to a israelite
to a israelite it's worth killing 80,000,000 whites in a world war
in fact there's no limit to how many whites a israelite would have killed so he could get his rape hands on a white woman's breasts
btw I like seinfeld (more than anyone on this thread)
but curb your bullshit, that was unwatchable
Have a snickers mate
Knife and fork mandatory
well played
I unironically think that Jerry Seinfeld should be in discussion as one of the most alpha characters in television
>non needy
>doesn't have insecurities
>takes anything in a stride
>rarely shook
>doesn't have insecurities
>takes anything in stride
>rarely shook
I'll give you non needy besides a massage but all the other things are basically involved in every plotline
Maybe for other characters but Jerry's storylines seemed like they amused him unlike Elaine's or George's. George and Elaine were neurotic and I would describe Jerry as curious and amused. Also he never showed emotion at least not for long, he would get passed things quickly.
That’s just Jerry’s awful acting, there’s plenty of scenes where he’s supposed to be irate like George gets but he’s just smiling like a moron
Jerry is based. He's Even Steven.
Season 4 is so fricking bad bros what were they thinking with having an actual ongoing story arc. The NBC shit should have been two episodes max
>making a story arc in a show about nothing for a show about nothing
irony
Season 4 is where the show gets into its stride. Its kino.
What? The show finds its voice in season 3 and then goes to a new level in season 4. Season 4 is probably the best season. Virtually every episode is a 10/10.

Stick a fork in me Jerry, I'm done!
jerry did a good job of mimicking kramer when they switched apartments
Post lines you randomly think about in your head from time to time

>I hate men but I’m not a lesbian
>THEYRE MEN WITH JOBS JERRY
I eat most desserts with a spoon, even things like doughnuts
i was very confused when i saw that episode since i actually do eat everything with a fork when possible
I used to eat peanuts with a spoon while playing vidya so I don't make my mouse greasy.
>jerry, just remember, it's not a lie if you believe it.
I think George's flanderization was actually funny and well-done. He went from a neurotic loser to a total psycho who feels good about his fiancee dying and pretends to be crippled.
This one:
has been stuck in my head for years because it was used in a commercial for reruns and the image is very uncanny.
George feels like a gradually degeneration. He's a loser who doesn't ever improve and his situation drives him progressively more insane.
>My name is George. I'm unemployed and I live with my parents.
The ending when he turns around to drive back to Ohio....kek
Shite was supposed to be for
>You didnt like the crack about the pen?
>I did not.
isn't that several seasons later or am i misremembering? nice callback
the callback was on "The comeback" I think. so yeah several seasons. fricking kills me.
>Believe it or not, George isn’t at home

>I WAS IN THE POOL!

>you were still making stops…?
>well they kept RINGIN THE BELL
Mr. Peterman: Elaine, you don't like The English Patient?
Elaine: I HATE IT!!!
the way she just blurts out those words out of frustration always puts me in a good mood.
>I'm Cosmo Kramer the ASSMAN
>I'm open, there's nothing in there
Jerry's absolute sociopathic emptiness really resonates with my empty husk of a human being.
Kramer is the conscious of the show. Jerry acts like the conscious, when he chews out Elaine over the way she screws up Noreen's Life, or the many times he chews out George. But he also indulges George's stupid plans, eggs him on. He's quite evil, is perhaps when he looked into Newman's eyes he saw that he was "pure evil" because he saw part of himself. Kramer on the other hand, while lacking the social awareness of Jerry, truly has a heart.
me too.
this. Except for maybe Kramer, maybe it's more comeuppance for the incredible luck he had.
>his whole life is a fantasy camp, people should put down 2000 dollars to live like him for a week
Jerry not want to call Alec Berg too many times and missing out on tickets as a result. I hate to bother people.
And maybe when Jerry takes the pen. What is he Japanese, is he meant to politely refuse 10 times. Klompus was insisting he takes the pen, he wanted to pretend he was generous and had largess without actually expecting to give anything away. What a fraud.
>BUT I DON'T WANNA BE A PIRATE
>WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY
>tfw I am the pigman
Who is the worst family member?
I can’t stand uncle leo
his parents are more annoying, at least Leo is comical
looks like a ghoul version of vincent gallo
Elaine's dad.
Jerry's sister or George's brother
it's the simple things in life, and this is funny
did they do a bluray release?
> Netflix is now streaming a 4K remastered version of Seinfeld, but the 16:9 aspect ratio it selected has cropped out some visual gags
was there an uncropped 4k?
I'm thinking of buying the best 4:3 TV I can get right now, if anything exists, so I can just download all the TV and movies from the 50-60-70-80s and live off that for the next 40 years, frick the shit on netflix now.
i just can't stand the camp acting in some shows, but look at wild wild west, that shit is enjoyable
and from one west to another, adam west's other stuff was really kinda ok and good
Hello!
JERRY!

>HE DID ME A PERSONAL FAVOUR
>the jerk store called, they're running out of you!
>Oh yeah? Well I had sex with your wife!
>What's the difference? You're their all-time best seller.
Not in the show but if anyone ever said this to me my response would be
>well then I must be very popular!
Seinfeld:
>Cranston plays a guy who converts to Judaism
Breaking Bad:
>Cranston plays an Irish-American who takes on the alias "Heisen~~*berg*~~"
It’s unironically fricking insane just how relatable George is. He’s the most Everyman character of all time. For my entire life I took my shirt off to shit and I never heard about someone else doing it until George said it.
>tfw you watch Curb and find yourself agreeing with all of Larry's kvetching
That’s the real joke, Larry is a sane man in a world of insanity
I had never watched all of Seinfeld until my mid-20s and I would joke with my friends about taking my shirt off to shit before that. It's a pretty common idea, I think
>go to bathroom at work
>wash my hands, forget I left my phone in the stall
>walk out, see a guy coming who sees me coming right out without washing my hands
>I tell him I washed my hands before but I had to pick something up there
>"yeah okay man"
>think to myself he doesn't believe me
>start thinking that he thinks I'm never a handwasher
>spend several days watching the bathroom waiting for him to enter so I can go in as well and wash my hands while I wait for him to exit the stall so he can see
>realize on day 3 that I've become George
on day 3 that I've become George
Close, but you have a tiny bit further to go still: you haven't progressed to just pretending to was your hands like him
*wash your hands
I washed my hands for real because it's more convincing and I was thought he might notice if I just stood there without actually getting my hands wet. My hands were dry as frick from the soap but I really didn't want him to spread things about me to my coworkers that aren't even true. That's the point where there's nothing you can do about it.
I hear you. I was remembering an episode where George says that he just fakes washing his hands all together, it might have been the Poppy episode.
You're not on his level yet if you're double washing, thankfully. That would be like George putting an EXTRA tip in the jar at Calzone place to make sure the guy saw him instead of reaching in to tip the same bill.
>You double washed?
>I double washed Jerry. I'd triple wash of I had to. I'm a washer and I'll be damned if they don't know it!
>start a new job where most of my work is on an obtuse computer program
>boss says to get something done
>have no clue what I'm supposed to be doing but its been too long to ask
>next week
>"good job on that project anon"
Literally George
if you've come this far, congrats, you found the first mention of kramer. this entire thread was like an exercise in not mentioning him
kramer pretending to be a doctor to get elaines chart and he doesn't know her name always gets me
Dr van Nostrum best fake name
>Male mammal. Approximately 30 to 60 years of age. Weight, oh, indeterminate.
i'm out there jerry and i'm lovin every minute of it
Literally me
should have been the final episode
I have a bad feeling that whenever a lesbian looks at me they think "That's why I'm not a heterosexual."
Cinemaphile verdict on the finale?
not as bad as Lost's
I thought it was alright, helps that I didn't see it live so I didn't get myself super hyped up for it like most people must have. The clip show episode before it was kino.
Overhated, but pretty dumb. It's good the show ended when it did because the whole Seinfeld universe was becoming flanderized and ridiculous and the finale took it too far. Like you really expect me to believe they would get prison time for not stopping a mugger? And they brought all the characters back for the trial? Surely they could have come up with a scenario to put them in jail that was less contrived. I like the theory that they died in the plane crash and went to hell.
the so-called "good samaritan law" was a real thing that had been a big news story at the time, and Larry no doubt wanted to show how ridiculous it was.
Well yeah but they would get a fine, not get sent to federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison... the show just kept getting more and more zany with insane plotlines like Peterman becoming an opium addict or George pretending to be a cripple.
*bass starts playin
It was just a commentary on the characters, not an attempt at realism. They just wanted to say they thought the characters were bad people and that's what they deserved
It was good, a nice highlights episode.
George Costanza: The sea was angry that day, my friends - like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli. I got about fifty feet out and suddenly the great beast appeared before me. I tell you he was ten stories high if he was a foot. As if sensing my presence, he let out a great bellow. I said, "Easy, big fella!" And then, as I watched him struggling, I realized that something was obstructing its breathing. From where I was standing, I could see directly into the eye of the great fish.
Jerry: Mammal.
George Costanza: Whatever.
Cosmo Kramer: Well, what did you do next?
George Costanza: Well then, from out of nowhere, a huge tidal wave lifted me, tossed me like a cork, and I found myself right on top of him - face to face with the blowhole. I could barely see from the waves crashing down upon me but I knew something was there. So I reached my hand in, felt around, and pulled out the obstruction.
Cosmo Kramer: What is that, a Titleist?
Cosmo Kramer: Hole in one, huh?
the fact that jason alexander read this for the first time like an hour before shooting it in one take makes it funnier
EASYYYYYY BIG FELLA!
The bell curve goes like this
morons: haha jery funny
midwit: actually, George and Elaine are the funniest. Jason Alexander and Julia Louis Dreyfus perform circles around the rest of the cast. Also Kramer, while appearing to be the most silly, is actually the most intricate physical performance. Michael Richards is truly one of the greatest physical comedians of all time.
intellectual: You know, this Jerry fellow is quite funny!
midwit here
Jerry = Elaine < George < kramer
Kramer, I can't do that. It's illegal.
It's not illegal.
It's against the law.
Well, yeah...
Bootlegging is a legitimate business!
>It's not legitimate.
It's a business.
>God... it's like a sauna in here.
>Sal Bass, Jerry! He's just traded one fish for another!
>Your fly is open.
the look kramer does at 18 secs always murders me
Kino
I'm with George on this one
I am now murdered as well
>That Kim Novak had some big breats
So many good callbacks
>comfy thread for once
>need to go to sleep
it was fun bros
Great thread, top notch quality
My friends the correct answer is:
George > Jerry > Kramer > Elaine
Elaine is funny but not as funny as Kramer and Kramer is not as funny as seinfeld but it’s all pretty close if we’re honest.
I agree
Jerry is the best character and I'm tired of pretending he's not. His standup up bits at the beginning and end of the show are hilarious
When I watched the show for the first time I was older and thought that Jerry's stand-up being cheesy and less funny than the scenarios unfolding around him with his "normal" friends was part of the show's conceit. I still like to think of it that way, even though I know that's not the case
>When I watched the show for the first time I was older
your younger now?
My friends the correct answer is:
George > Jerry > Kramer > Elaine
Elaine is funny but not as funny as Kramer and Kramer is not as funny as seinfeld but it’s all pretty close if we’re honest.
I catch myself saying "this is just like that seinfeld episode" every day
Why is it so comfy bros?
Just finished another rewatch
Had never watched until last year but its became a fave.
On my last rewatch my favourite episode was far and away The Gum
>what a spanking button
I hate the gum part but the whole insane thing is hilarious.
>DONT YA SEE, HE WAS TRYING TO FOOL LOYD BRAUN
>see, you're saying the fooled me, Jerry. You want to say they fooled me Jerry!
>tfw you will never fugg prime Elaine
God I want to soak her in cum like a rag doll.
I'm a "Larry" man, personally.
For me, its Paco
>One of few black people on the show
>Is an butthole
So its accurate then
If you actually watch the show every second extra is black. It's actually very disproportionate how many blacks are in the show. The sugar Ray episode where George goes back over a lot of the black characters, and nowhere near all of them, shows how common it was.
Kramer don't...!
That kramer, huh? Don't you love how he just.. Says things?!
4:3 > 16:9
>Gipple
>Mulva
Thoughts on the Urban Sombrero?
For me, its Babu
Most relatable situation? For me, it's this. I was on a date walking outside and she just slipped it in there that she was seeing another guy.
practically every george plotline tbqhwyf
I think every guy has had this happen to them. Why do women do this?
>be me
>go to meet your sweet gf
>some psycho incel who was just small talking with her sees you
>pulls out a knife and kills you on the spot
What the frick did I do
It's insane. And she was this thicc average looking girl with few friends, so I was sure I was gonna have her all to myself, but no. You're ALWAYS competing with at least one other guy.
And on the rare occasion that you're not she is batshit crazy.
I had a girl like that too. She wasn't batshit, but she had mental issues and she would usually cancel a date an hour before because she was "depressed" or something. It took me six weeks just to get a second date with her and I dropped her shortly after.
Why wouldn't you drop her the second she backed out of something for being depressed?
Because I'm a desperate moron.
Fair enough.
check'd and iktf bros
This girl at work would talk to me for hours, even delaying work some times. Then all of a sudden she casually drops "my in-laws". I called in sick the next day.
better with the soundtrack
because they have the mentality of a child and know they won't face any consequences for pulling shit like this.
Its weird that this was the pilot plot line and they brought it back.
>thought I grow up to become George
>actually became Newman
>always thought I was a george
>become kramer
Honestly I think watching Seinfeld too much during my teens turned my personality into that of a neurotic newyorker israelite.
It basically shaped my social behaviour for my adult life and somehow I'm now the weird loner with no friends.
Same. My entire social fix is Seinfeld reruns for 6 years now
>somehow I'm now the weird loner with no friends.
>My entire social fix is Seinfeld reruns
These are both me.
What if you had a JOI but instead of a waifu it was a hologram Kramer neighbour that always comes over to hang out.
>holographic Kramer phases through the door
>still falls
Time to fire up 'feld. Going with season 6.
Great season. I feel like people don't talk about it as much as 4-5, but it's got a lot of classics.
what if kramer's whole persona was just an act so he could do things like walk in on elaine naked without knocking and it just being seen as a kramer faux pas? that would be based 2bh
