It's pretty good as far as tory telling element. Nothing to change the industry but still a good story of a kid forced onto the main stage. One of the few cartoons in recent decades I've seen 5+ times

        Anonymous

The kid was the worst part of the first one and actively dragged the rest of the story down with how everyone was strangely focused on uplifting and reaffirming him

Literally they told him to frick off and tied him up before the final battle, what are you smoking?

            Anonymous

Yes, after they spent the whole movie actually bringing him along and telling him he needs to become Spider-Man (specifically Spider-Man and not come up with his own identity) for some reason despite not knowing him or being the guardians of this random teenager, that is the only instance of them acting rationally.

Meanwhile aunt May also pushes this random kid she doesn't know to become Spider-Man and head into fighting the villains who killed her adopted son two days ago, that adopted son also had "kid you need to become Spider-Man" as his first thought when he met Miles in the middle of a fight, Doc Ocks stops and asks "Spider-Man?" to reaffirm his identity when she gets hit by an invisible fist, Kingpin stops and stands letting himself get venom blasted for some reason as the climax etc, whole movie is a shitshow of this.

Anon, like half of the movie is Miles running away from fights and pussying out of shit. Second off he doesnt really get encouraged to be Spider-Man by anybody but Aunt May. Like there's a whole sequence where they ask him a bunch of shit and he keeps falling short of their expectations under pressure. Only Peter B. among them really has Miles' back for like the entirety of the film and that's mostly because they bonded while robbing Liv's shit. Mind you before he just wanted Miles to frick off and only managed to get in because of him putting pressure on Peter's good nature. Like I don't understand how you watch the movie and see "Oh wow the kid who watched his supervillain uncle and Spider-Man get murdered had an easy ride lol, everyone jerked him off"

None of this addresses anything about my argument

                >Second off he doesnt really get encouraged to be Spider-Man by anybody but Aunt May.
Nope, Peter A, Peter B and the whole squad tell him he needs to become Spider-Man, Doc Ock also affirms his identity

                >Like there's a whole sequence where they ask him a bunch of shit and he keeps falling short of their expectations under pressure.
Oh no and he magically overcomes all that later that day by "taking a leap of faith" how well written

Anon, did you miss the part where they webbed him up and left for the final battle and said he was not good enough? And yes, like did you want to see some teenager get beat to death by Kingpin and walk out of the theater with a big old grin? He uses his unique abilities, so Venom Blast and Invisibility help him get the victory after getting thrashed by Kingpin during the fight. The whole point was he had his own talents and needed to use them rather than what Peni or Noir or Gwen was important.

He used his unique ability "inexplicably make the villain stop so you can style on him with your overpowered venom blast"

                >The whole point was he had his own talents and needed to use them rather than what Peni or Noir or Gwen was important.

                tard.
Spider-Gang kept Miles around because he had Spider-Powers and didnt want him to get into trouble by himself outside of him guilting Peter into helping break into Liv's shit and told him to run from the fight at Aunt May's as well. You keep acting like he is popular kid of the group rather than sitting at the edge of the table.
Your other points are moronic cuz you examine them in isolation, Miles uses his powers rarely because theyre unreliable because HE thinks he's dogshit and sucks because everyone makes him feel like he's shit and not right at anything. It's only till his dad gives him encouragement and he feels his own sense of accepting what he is. The venom blast only is able to work on Kingpin because Miles stood up to him and fought him. Surviving the pummeling and punches so he can work up the power to give it back to Kingpin. Peter A dying is more inciting incident because of course if he survives he could probably solo the film unless you really want Miles and Peter both awkardly sharing the name Spider-Man in the same room.

                >You keep acting like he is popular kid of the group rather than sitting at the edge of the table.
No I never said anything like that, I'm saying they treated him as Frodo the ringbearer despite the fact they didn't need him at all and he could've sat out the whole thing until the very end, yet they insist he must become Spider-Man specifically and never even question if there are other radioactive spiders on the loose

                >Your other points are moronic cuz you examine them in isolation, Miles uses his powers rarely because theyre unreliable because HE thinks he's dogshit and sucks because everyone makes him feel like he's shit and not right at anything. So he's so overpowered by default the only growth he needs is a bit of encouragement to become a killing machine, I don't think that's good writing for the "kid pushed to the stage" story

                >The venom blast only is able to work on Kingpin because Miles stood up to him and fought him.
No it's only able to work on Kingpin because he stopped and gave Miles an opening like a dumbass

                >Surviving the pummeling and punches so he can work up the power to give it back to Kingpin.
                The ones that killed Peter

                >Peter A dying is more inciting incident because of course if he survives he could probably solo the film
Maybe making Peter job to villains he usually makes easy work of is a dumb inciting incident especially combined with the fact a rookie has no issues with them later on

                >unless you really want Miles and Peter both awkardly sharing the name Spider-Man in the same room.
They're already doing that in everything including the Spider-Verse movies so why not

I really liked the first one despite being against it because I really don’t have much interest in Black person Spider-Man. This one though. Eh. I really don’t like the pregnant spider woman with floppy hair. It feels like something that would have been a parody of what wolves would put into the movie. I also don’t like them leaning so much into the spider verse concept or MiIes seeming to be central to it. I really would’ve preferred a smaller adventure focusing on miles in his own universe. But then people would complain that since he was introduced by way of the spider verse that it needs to be integral to his every story.

I was, but as things got announced and I starting seeing more and more about my excitement just died. I think the plot looks lame and a lot of it looks boring. Original spider-verse was stupid fun movie and you could see them having fun with it, the fact that spider-ham and Peni was there is kinda proof of it. I don't think they were trying to tell this epic tale or be this ultra amazing super-hero movie, it was more this spider-man movie by spider-man fans with a good art direction and love for all the character all around.

This movie seems more like an average superhero movie marvel style, it does seem to take itself a lot more serious and all the thematic behind it or is overdone by my standards or I don't really have that much interest in it. I have low expectations, maybe I don't even check it out when it comes out and I wait a little bit until I forget it was a thing.

At least my low expectations are a good thing, since I become harder to disappoint.
