Adult Swim is going to use A.I. voices to replace Justin Roiland, I'm calling it now.
They have enough unfiltered recordings of him and his voice to reconstruct it, especially using the method this amateur was able to use https://youtu.be/shp9jzJ4MOw
That's what people can do for free online, imagine what a massive company can do.
A.I. would be their most valuable option, I've seen a lot of people claim that that one dude on Tik Tok is talking with the because he does an "alright" Morty voice (his Rick is pretty bad, honestly)
However, is it really that smart of a move for Adult Swim to move to some literal who from the internet to voice one if not both of their MAIN characters of their BIGGEST property? This guy could also be a creep for all they know, with A.I voices you don't have worry about the actor behind them being a women-beating groomer.

Here's my theory, Adult Swim (along with the other company's Justin had worked for) knew that he was going to be canceled any minute now, and was just waiting for the right time to show off their cool new A.I voices. However, there's recently been a big push online about how bad and evil and oooh spooky A.I is for its ability to take over jobs in art and animation fields, well, now Adult Swim needs to make sure nobody cares about the person behind the job. I feel like they pushed Justin under the bus with this info they had on him for years, maybe even exaggerating it to look worse. Where did all those grooming texts come from all of a sudden, immediately after he was arrested? And why was Adult Swim so quick to pull the trigger on cutting all association with him, especially before anything has even gone to trial?

Very fishy, in my eyes. I'll be proven right whenever the new season comes out and there's a joke about Rick and Morty having robot voice boxes now or something after an offscreen adventure where their real vocal cords were taken out.

AI voices still don't sound human enough, and even if they sounded human enough they still can't match the acting range of a real person.

I'm positive within a year or two, A.I. voice modulation, as done in the chowder video I linked, will be absolutely perfected. A.I is advancing at an astronomical rate, many people are in denial about how fast this stuff is improving. Look at videos of penquinz0/moistcritikal, because his voice is monotone, it's practically perfect. Again, this is stuff people are doing for free online. Imagine what a company can do. Back to the chowder video, when I first saw it, I thought it was real until reading the comments. After learning that it's A.I, I can hear a little bit of the emulation and stuff used, but before I was told I had no idea. It wasn't just a robot, the behind the scenes goes into how the guy spoke onto a tube or something and then ran his voice through chowders and it sounds really good, imagine what a company can do with thay tech.
A.I. is advancing a lot fast than the human mind can predict, you'll probably say "oh this technology won't be available until another 15, 25 years."
Yeah, alright. Guess we'll wait and see, won't we?

Hi there. I work in AI and have insider knowledge specifically in voice cloning and TTS.

Several companies already have functional voice cloning that's flawless with about 8 to 13 minutes of training audio. I've heard an absolutely perfect Morgan Freeman monologue that he never performed.

Thing is that having the tech is just step one. These companies have to actually get customers, and right now no one that can buy has any idea what to use it for. Sure you can pitch the idea, but by virtue of being a new technology it's inherently risky to buy.
It's also rather expensive in terms of the hardware necessary - rendering cloned human speech is incredibly GPU intensive.

TL;DR voice cloning already works but it's still a long way from corporate adoption

This is replicating a Vtuber voice and it's almost 1-1
I'll give it a year or two until its perfectioned

I think they'll feel obliged to avoid using his voice at all, even a synthesized version of it

They'll get someone else. With how hard he had to throw for the two of them, it shouldn't be too hard to find a similiar pair.

Good. Finally those worthless slimes will be forced to get an actual job, alongside artists.
    The future is bright, bros.

The future we're heading for is dystopian. I don't want all my media and entertainment regurgitated at me by robots, most things today are made cheaply without effort and it sucks, imagine what it'll look like when robots make things for free with what's essentially negative effort. This is a second industrial revolution, we're once again seeing machines take human jobs and there's going to be another consequence of this just like how there's now plastic in our blood, yes, YOURS TOO, and how everything is made to break down and be thrown out so you can but a new version of it that'll also break and need to be replaced.

80% of the shitposting that goes on on Cinemaphile now is by AI algorithms using most commonly used buzzwords or if all else fails: Wojak posts.

I’d actually like it if AIs would be novel enough to replace big name celebrities in animated films. Way too much budget is thrown away on them and then they typically give lazy performances.

It sucks that smaller actors and artists would be caught in the crossfire, but if computers could eventually bring about an end to celebrity culture, it might be worth it.

That would set a dangerous precedence, but would be kinda neat.

I dunno about the rest of your post and your whole conspiracy theory, though. You really shoulda quit while you were ahead and opened the OP with just “What if Rick was robot?” And then left your theory for a later post.

And then it will not be watchable.

Just like Squidbillies final season. Everyone I know calls it 12 seasons, because season 13 is shit by a shitty actor like Tracey Morgan.

When you no longer have a voice, a robot does.
Imagine saying things you never did.

I don't know. They should have just let Justin finish out the 7th season and called it quits from there with him.

Makes sense, popularize deepfakery just in time to cast doubt on the decade's worth of stashed dirt all politicians/governments have on one another. Imagine having some new EMP-like thing that just turned off all nuclear warheads permanently and rendered them inert, you'd have to figure out what the new deterrent is real goddamned quick or things would start to get weird.

I get technology advances at its own pace, I just find it extremely depressing how eager people are to do their damnedest to displace humans from as many areas of creativity as they can. Nobody talks about how ai vocal recordings or ai art would benefit the average joe in any way, cause by all indications they don't, they're effectively superfluous in nature, and the only ones benefiting are companies that are already well beyond wealthy and dominant in the economy today. I don't mean to rag, but why should I applaud someone using a robot to replace Justin Roiland? Is that legitimately simpler than just hiring someone else to stand in a sound booth for a few hours a week, or does it amount to the same damn thing in the end?

I'm not celebrating this. I'm commending it. This is yet another step towards the future of dystopia, robots will replace us because they don't want to be paid to work, they just do it.

More that it watching all these IT nerds expecting to get their dicks sucked for working on shit not a single person asked for instead of doing something useful like making robots that can handle sewage work or cleaning up environmental disasters. Like who even asked for this? Do we legitimately need an imitation Justin Roiland to exist just cause the real one's a wife beater?

Not to mention how easy his voices are to imitate. This is as impressive as making a "realistic" shit posting bot that just spams "ur a gay"
