Why do normies love him so much? Why hasn’t he been canceled?

Jim really pisses me off for some reason. I hate how smug he feels about being mediocre and supposedly one-upping his coworkers, while making no improvement whatsoever to his life. Like he acts as though he is the shit because he said a funny comeback while still working as a fricking salesman in a midrange paper company.

(same poster) He's the definition of smug mediocrity and it makes damn well sense why he's loved by normies who feel superior for doing the exact same nonsense everyone else is.

He starts actually working on seasons 6/7 and does well, and that's when him and Pam become unwatchable and the worst part of every episode

working with Jim irl would be annoying as hell. seeing him goofing off and doing pranks would be annoying as shit. sure Dwight might even deserve most of it, but his pranks usually disrupt the office and most people just want to clock in, get their work done and go home. none of that prank and drama shit. frick Jim.

That’s the whole point of the character, yes. But the show settles on a schmaltzy and sentimental direction for all the characters so it doesn’t matter.

Back when this show aired, there was a type of ideal lots of young white guys strived towards. It was the
      >apathetic genius that doesn't put in effort and just coasts, but could totally be great if he tried anything. but he won't because he's just that cool
Deep down they know they're shit, but if they never put anything on the line to achieve something, then they never expose themselves to failure, and nobody could know they're shit. That was their mental issue.

10-15 years later, these people are the 30-40 year old soicucks you hate, posting on twitter, collecting funko pops, "ironically" discussing cuckolding, etc.

      >moderately attractive douchebag who thinks he’s too good for his job and yet would rather stay a big fish in a little pond than try to improve himself
There are literally millions of Jims. He’s a pretty realistic character.

It's realistic. Success as a man is either being pretty or israeli. Statistics don't lie. Across the globe, we quite literally just hand shit to men for being attractive. Literally every single study and statistic has proven this. It's blatant discrimination. But no one cares because if you're a man and you aren't pretty, you simply are not even a human being.

I hate Jim and Pam for what they inspire in normies. They think they're sweet and wholesome and level headed, but they generate more negativity and abuse than any of Michael's jokes.

Umm he was bead because he was possessive! Because he (rightly) suspected his woman was cheating. That's like... BAD because... he's... uhh.. a toxic male!

I love how they tried to paint him as an “abusive” boyfriend but they couldn’t really fully commit to it because it’s supposed to be a comedy, so the audience is supposed to hate him for the most minor fricking things
      >he wanted to go home with his fiancee instead of drinking with office people he doesn’t know! Le monster!!

I was Dwight and my coworker was Jim when I was doing electrical work (in the sense of bullying) I didn't have autistic fits like Dwight tho, maybe I should've, maybe he would've backed off more. I never thought bullying and shit would occur in adulthood but it does.
