Not the same anon but, prior to episode 9 I actually liked Rey specifically as a blank slate and regarded her as a necessary evil. Sure she was a bland brunette, but having the brand try to focus on her as the face of the girl power market allowed characters like Ahsoka the wiggle room to stay flawed and exotic, but now after fans have made it clear Ahsoka is their fave Mickey has turned his gaze her way and wants to make her the star. What this is going to do is dilute her into a generic heroine who can never change or grow. She’ll be a stagnant action figure from now on with a shitty hat looking costume and people will be wishing it was still Rey out in front taking the heat.
