How are you real people? Do you just turn a blind eye to all the genuinely good animated media that's come out in the last few years? I don't get it.

Yes, the good animated media will continue to be made and the Corporate goyslop will be farmed out to AI. If you want to survive as an artist, either be good at it or have a unique style.

Or make fricked up reprehensible things that would immediately be excluded from pretty much all AI models.

No, I watch them and recognize most of them are mediocre slop.
It was especially rich coming from Del Toro to pearl clutch about AI when the only notorious thing about Pinicchio is how technically difficult it was to make.
Like what is the argument here? That we judge media on the basis of the effort it took to produce? I dont see how AI is going to make things worse.

Frankly it was like that for anything but indie work anyway. We're just going back to a new dark age faster.

The opposite actually. Look at webcomics for an example, all of a sudden rather than needing to convince someone with a printing press, anyone who could approximate being able to draw could make a comic and put it online to find an audience. There was an explosion of comics, most of which were godawful and some of the most godawful were the ones that people were the most passionate about. but you can't deny there was and is passion and creativity in the space.

When we get to the point where anyone who can scrape together the cost of a decent video card can produce their own animation, you'll see... honestly like 99% of it will be porn, memes, and ADHD inducing instagram sludge content, but you'll also see interesting things produced.

Nothing out of the ordinary nowadays then.

I wonder if the gay can be a slider, and if you turn it all the way up you get the homosexual superman son.

Good will always be good. Bad will always be bad. All this does it make making easier. Production is no longer gatekept to those with multibillion dollar studios backing them or wealthy parents who will support them for a decade while they "hone their craft"

Some superfan with a decent PC will make some of the best comic adaptations we've ever seen.

For fifteen years, Cinemaphile has constantly claimed (and demonstrated) that it can write better endings or arcs for shows than most professional writers. Imagine if we weren't limited to just greentext. Imagine the animated equivalent of fanfic, facilitated by AI. Imagine that ending to Samurai Jack you wished had been, or a version of Legend of Korra that didn't suck balls. The sky's the limit.

Cinemaphile has unironically pitched better plots for a Dawn of Justice movie, Incredibles 2, Lightyear, Monsters Inc 2, kung fu Panda 3, Missing Link, better endings to Primal, Samurai Jack, Kid Cosmic, Foster's Home, Sym-Bionic Titan, LOK, ATLA, Star vs, Amphibia, Gravity Falls, Dragon Prince, Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, She-Ra, and dozens of other shows and movies I can't be bothered to remember.

Do you see yourself making a new property in A.I. with half the appeal of Samurai Jack to begin with? You are a gay.

          You poke fun now.

Within five years (assuming Cinemaphile hasn't been shut down or we've all been reduced to thermonuclear ash), request threads on Cinemaphile will be delivering complete animated clips on par with professional animation.

other than fingers, thick outlines are AI's biggest weakness. And that won't change until they figure out a way to make the pictures by drawing them and not just diffusion

        >thick outlines are AI's biggest weakness
If you focus on only one character, I think you can replicate the thick outlines. I tried training on the characters of the MCU, and although not perfect, I can see it trying to understand the style.

It could, but it wont, cartoon styles appeared out of necessity, something simple and easy to do so the workflow could be efficient, now that AI can emulate Japanese genes there is no reason for cartoons to exist anymore, everything will be Anime and produced by machines.

Straight take over no. Complete the in betweens on 1s, yes. Higher detail in shading on color passes, yes. The most you could get is the clean line work than let the AI over lay the detail. The tweaks and precisions isn't close for a take over now and it's still so early. Artist are b***hing about an image but this shit will get closer to the hollowdeck eventually, the whole entertainment industry will be challenged and only the best story tellers will remain.
