        #doubt
Yes, the AI needs to be trained on children to be able to produce children, but the whole point of ML is that it can interpolate various concepts. If the AI understands: photos of clothed children in ordinary poses, photos & drawings of naked adults in sexual poses, drawings of clothed children in sexual poses, then is it really so hard to imagine it can cobble together an approximation of photos of naked children in sexual poses from this data? It's like arguing it must have been trained on pictures of animals made of corn in order for it to produce animals made of corn. -t. not a pedo, just tired of morons like you

You’ve got to really piss someone off to get slapped with that shit though. They’re mostly on the books so that in the event some changes on the federal level happen, they don’t have to pass new laws to criminalize stuff. As it stands, they know this shit will get struck down, so they don’t pursue it, and no one is running around trying to get arrested for it so they can make a court battle out of it.

There are some exceptions like the teacher in Idaho that got charged with Simpsons porn, but as I recall they pled out for some reason or other, and that’s more the exception than the rule.

True. It still sickens me, though. Selective application of the law breeds a culture of terror. It is a totalitarian practice. Either ban something and enforce that ban, or don't. Anything else is injustice regardless how unsavoury the targets are today.

the application in US law is contextual for the most part, they're not looking for it, they just find it alongside 500tb of kids getting nailed from OF

at that stage it's just a way of adding years to the sentence, not obtaining custodial sentence

      Anonymous

Their models were trained on images that were 512x512 pixels. At such a small size, fidelity gets lost at a certain scale, so fingers, toes, and other fine detail with full body images gets garbled. Now, if the models were trained with higher resolution images, we would be getting better results.

No, he isn't wrong. Japan has always been absurdly conservative in it's practices. CGI anumation is only now starting to approach it's western peers because they insisted on using traditional 2D animation methods for an entirely new medium, despite it consistently looking like dogshit. And I dunno about faces, but flip phones survived there longer than they had any right to, despite their companies simultaneously producing smartphones for the western market. Something is really fricked in the way the Japanese approach change in their everyday lives.

Kek, I'd never considered that's why pixiv suddenly dropped paid e-girl art. However AIshitters try to obscure it with the mask of "training sets," there's a very high probability that US law doesn't actually give a shit and will consider it illegal regardless
      >Visual depictions include photographs, videos, digital or computer generated images indistinguishable from an actual minor, and images created, adapted, or modified, but appear to depict an identifiable, actual minor. Undeveloped film, undeveloped videotape, and electronically stored data that can be converted into a visual image of child pornography are also deemed illegal visual depictions under federal law.

That law is patently unconstitutional, but nobody is going to contest it.

It's definitely a "think of the children!!" type of law, but drawn stuff is so far removed from the appearance of the real thing that it's hard to argue that any child or image of a child was actually involved in the creation of the image. If you start trying to make photorealistic images, that's a different story. Imagine some AIjeet trying to argue about training data and denoising as he gets hauled away by the cops.

Also you should know the issues with eyes, fingers etc are all because of the original data set being poor for those which results in that. Making the original data sets better could solve this but we have inpainting as well which fixes that afterwards which wasn't applied there.

Those are just a matter of training and set up, though ironically those concepts are why artists will never be replaced. Namely, AIs don’t get the fundamentals yet. They spit out generic looking images based on tags which WE recognize, and it tickles the recognition portion of our brains, but they still need someone who understands all the aspects of art to make sure the product ends up at an acceptable level. Worst case we eventually end up with a robust AI powered tool for generating images that still involves a bunch of work on the part of the artist.

I get that this thread is purely here for demoralization, but what does AI art truly mean for the future of human made art in general? I get that it punches commission artists in the wallet which seems to be the main point spouted by the OP'S who make these threads, but in all seriousness this can and very may will replace artists in many fields in terms of concept art, storyboarding and even animation could theoretically be at stake here. It will never replace those who just want to make art for the hell of it, but it doesn't change the fact that people are this ready and willing to abandon human made art in favor of this autonomically produced work.
    >Human art is toilet with name and banana on wall AI has SOVL
You know this argument is bullshit and yet you say it anyway to block the fact that this is attempting to overwrite an intrinsic aspect of the human conscious and spirit.

The entirety of Western comic book artistry has culminated in Marvel Movies and Gay Superman. I don't give two bloody shits about these mainstream artists. People with talent or passion will continue to exist, but humdrum buttholes with more degrees than common sense will be out of a job. Who cares? In the long term, it'll definitely be a tool used to auto-generate shit nobody wants to draw by hand. Stuff like background scenes, concept art, all that. It can't exactly replace humanity entirely at this stage, the artwork still needs a human's direct involvement in the process if they want to actually copyright and sell the art. But I don't doubt that it'll help artists who can use AI generation to shake and bake a general outline before drawing up their own variant to something.

But in the short term, it's likely going the same way as the NFT since the exact same crowd shilling them are also shilling this. Its value is going to be overestimated extra hard and inflate like mad until it comes crashing down because the people that traditionally willing to shell out the big bucks for art don't WANT mass-produced shit they could make on their own, and the people who are happy with using ai generation to make their masterpieces will already have done so or just bought the ai engines themselves. All the jackasses and pricks talking about how it'll replace humans are being wishful thinkers. It MIGHT do it. Or it might just end up being yet another short-term gimmick in the vast sea of toys and tools that are in abundance in the art world. We don't know yet, and the dumbasses that are trying to tell you otherwise to cash in are just trying to goad you into accepting it so they can sell you their computer generated images at marked up prices while pretending it's art.

Basically, if there IS going to be a revolution in the art fields at hands, I heavily doubt it'll be at the hands of the morons screaming about how they've already won while desperately hoping to cash in on a market that hasn't fully formed yet. It'll be years before we see how useful this shit actually is in practice before we can determine that.

        >and the people who are happy with using ai generation to make their masterpieces will already have done so or just bought the ai engines themselves.
That's the crazy part about it. It's already free. It's out in the wild. People can do this shit at home on a gaming PC. They can just plug in new models for new art styles and refined quality. There are already people charging out the nose to provide AI service, but as the technology improves, the requirements are coming down, and soon you'd be able to do it on a smartphone, locally.

That's what always makes me chuckle, how the AIhomosexuals will gloat about the obsolescence of artists, despite shamelessly swiping art from real artists to "train" their models to pump out what are at best shitty looking knockoffs.

Precisely. Their haste to build up hype is basically killing their intended market, and eventually the people who want art the old fashioned way will continue to do so while the people who want ai generated artwork will be able to make it without paying the programmers a dime. They're basically wetting themselves with glee over the trillions they expect to make before they've even brought the cow to market.

          >They can just plug in new models for new art styles and refined quality

Remember, they're coders, not artists. They know as much about what makes good art as the average fartknocker, they've just convinced themselves that they don't HAVE to know because a robot can just replicate what's "proven" to work. If you asked them to explain what's good about the art their ai makes, they'd more than likely freeze up and not have a clue what to say.

It doesn’t from what I’ve seen. Most normalgays don’t see it as anything more than a novelty, and those of differing views tend to lean more towards the “this is a butchery of art!” angle rather than a positive one. Frankly, the only people that by-and-large support AI art are techgays, and even then I’ve seen some wariness in that community about its potential applications for less-than-savory stuff. A couple of pajeets from Cinemaphile trying to start shit with other communities shouldn’t give you the impression of AI art being “readily accepted.”

You're seeing AI generated art and not knowing it's AI generated art, which is where the "controversy" comes from. It's a tool and the fun part is that it's only fricking over macgays and other art school types who don't have real computers. If you're an artist and do have an actual style, it'd be worth generating a model from lineart for your own use for posework and matting out drawings. Turn the first hour of the drawing process into a few minutes iterating renders.

You're claiming it's being rejected by normies when normies are consooming it already. People have already picked up that "forklift certified" types will buy wolf Tshirts screen printed off an AI prompt as readily as they will something actually stolen off google images.
It's literally only artists without actual job jobs who rely on commissions and cottage industry contract work who are shitting themselves.

are entirely against the "artists" and is a direct result of them not understanding how publishing licenses and copyright law works when they willingly uploaded their portfolio to pixiv/artstation/deviantart.
generating the model is noncommercial, off noncommercial/open license art freely uploaded to the internet. Then the model after being trained is then released and generates works released under a different license. All kosher. All comporting to the existing publishing licenses and copyright/trademark law.

Ah okay. I can’t say my experience is the same, as when I’ve seen the topic brought up among normies who don’t give two shits about art their opinions tended to fall under what I said. I won’t deny your words though, as most don’t seem to have a great understanding of these systems or their applications either, so even with these views I wouldn’t be surprised if they unintentionally buy into products featuring it regardless. Doing things thoughtlessly is practically a hallmark among these people, and if you’d qualify that as acceptance then it is done out of ignorance rather than acknowledgement.

I wonder how long it will take for someone to code a reverse-image-search for AI images. I.e. something that tells you what images were used for an AI produced image. Is it cheaper than hiring a human artist?
Then it will inevitably completely replace the human artist in everything that involves money.
      Production, commission, promotion.

And once the artists lose income from art as a product there is no economic base for their art as culture, or anything else.
They will finally, once and for all, have to get real jobs, learn actual professions with their time instead of the arts.
All that will be left is the rich upper class hobbyist learning to scribble on the side. And a hobbyist will never be a Michaelangelo, someone who could reach the heights he did because he could dedicate his whole life to the professions of paintings and sculptures.

With the roots gone the tree is dead, even if people loved its fruit.
      It's not that complex.

Nah, I'd sooner pick up a How To Draw Manga book. Point is that all the talk about art quality is technically irrelevant, cause this shit was never about the art itself. Programs like stable diffusion aren't literal art making machines, they're bots that have the brainpower needed to process and mimic image generation better than they have in previous years. They don't MAKE anything better than a human can, they just know how to slap shit together a lot better than they used to. It's legitimately impressive shit on a technical level, I'm happy to give it that. But it's embarrassing to see all the people that are hailing this shit as the downfall of Calarts and fetish artists when they don't even understand what it is they're claiming to celebrate.

It's a neuralnet training model AI that is literally learning to draw the way a human does. It isn't tracing or kitbashing grass like the humans cluttering up artstation and deviantart. Your art isn't actually "in" the training set anymore than it's "in" the head of an artist who has studied the same work. That's why the models can be blended and weighted to create new models.

Humans develop their artwork from observing and interacting with the real world, understanding artistic fundamentals, and applying it all to a variety subjects. That's nothing like how a machine learns to draw. It ONLY learns from analyzing the end result of digital 2D images. Again, you're a moron.

You're not from around these parts if you don't have a few gigs of Gwen Tennyson on hand. This some kind of really tedious, ill thought out consensus crack effort?

AI is going to do great things for democratizing animation production and shit canning all you troons in Burbank.

The funniest part in all of this is it's the selfsame infighting of you hacks writ large. Your shit is copies of IP and copies of real artist styles and you did it for the updoots, not for the sake of it, because to you art is a cargo cult. You're doing an excellent job of showing the character of "artists" and why everyone is so glad they won't need to hire you.

The cute and funny part is that the novelAI leaked model can draw e-girl every bit as generic as this. Bugman art is a terrible example to use when it was the first thing you could generate at the press of a button.

I'm just glad the people are shelling out the cash to model western styles now. Eventually someone will get around to new retro and beanart just to make animation industry storyboarders and show designers kill themselves.

Art doesn't matter for porn. As long as people get their tags of choice presented in a manner that isn't disgusting for the 35seconds they're looking at it, it will do the job just as well as dicky you spent 8h on. Even if it is recycling parts, there's more images to pull from than anyone could know or recognize so they won't notice. Pornography is lowest common denominator garbage so of course it'll be the first form of 'art' replaced.

I'm not paid. All porn is abhorrent to me so an ai melted pile of limbs and pussy are no more or less valuable than what you do. And now you can see that the average coomer doesn't see a difference either. Did you really think these people cared about the quality of rustles floors? They're just beating their meat for a tiny bit of feel-good.

What they're coping about is that fact artists are taking generated content, upscaling it, then finishing it in a tenth of the time it would take to draw the lions share of the image. Then going on to win contests and get accolades while not disclosing until they can dab on their fellow "artists" that the evocative and groundbreaking transcendentalist masterpiece the fart sniffers were praising took their gtx3090 20 seconds to render.

It's all hypocrisy at the end of the day, the fricking cope about photobashing is projection from the fact these hacks steal images to make backgrounds and trace art all the fricking time because they usually can get away with it.

In a professional setting I've been using it for generating reference images to hand to artists or map out the framing of content.
      >and logo and GUI element design
graphic design is a dead career now. Globohomosexual clipart bullshit that is cheap and offensively inoffensive will hopefully die due to people wanting something more aesthetic. We're going to see a lot more anime girls in advertisements

Probably not, this new fad one seems pretty weak even it's basically doing shit that old face generator has been doing for years already but worse. Artists can probably use it as a tool, but people really underestimate how little patience that people who hire artists actually have, so this will likely only be something to be used by better artists while just a novelty for hobbyists but not really replacing anyone except maybe those people who just make derivative logos on fiverr.

Maybe they will if they stick to it, but it'll likely be a pretty difficult endeavor that he needs patience for. Actual people who need art and animation likely won't care to learn to make the process 100% AI driven especially if it means they're the ones doing it and it'll just be used for shortcuts by people who dedicated more time to animation.

The majority of people shilling for these ai programs absolutely wouldn't have the patience for such a task. They don't even have the patience to see who's happy paying out the nose for this tech before declaring the art industry dead. What potential there is for this tech still isn't going to be apparent until years from now at best due to the level of internal connections the neural networks still need to build to get to the quality that animators would find useful. Most of the good results people are showcasing on media using their own libraries worth of pictures, so unless these animators are willing to spend hours upon hours feeding the AI neural net, they're still better off animating it by hand and using a frame interpolation tool to trim time down for the present.

If children can do it with ease why are artists even paid to begin with??
