They saw what happened to Mandalorian and made the right choice. Like George Costanza, go out on top and leave them wanting more.

Yes. Mandalorian was good until they removed Gina. Perfect ending. Then they made BOBF and S3 which are sequel trilogy.

I really can't blame Kathy for all of that being terrible. The ST and Mando S3 were definitely her fault but everything else is bad because they hired morons and let them do whatever they wanted.

Does there need to be more? Andor as a pitch for a show was always a stretch. If it weren't for the politics on Coruscant the first season could have been like 8 episodes.

  15. 4 days ago
    Anonymous

It was always planned for two seasons

    >The way you’ve mapped out your second season narratively is unlike any other show.
    >Gilroy: When we come back later, it’ll be literally like a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And then, we’ll jump a year, and then it’ll be, like, four or five days, and then we’ll jump a year, and then there’ll be another four or five days, and then we jump a year, and be another four or five days. I don’t know whether anybody ever did it before because I don’t know if anybody had a chance to do it before. We’re in the brand-new era of making these shows. These shows are all new. This whole idea of how to make these shows, and the economic scale of them is new, and everything’s new.

      Anonymous

Tony Gilroy needs to get as far away from Lucasfilm as possible when he's done with Andor so he can pursue a career saying "new" over and over again on a "new" show.

He's still a pretty dumb character but I enjoy the edginess of the Partisans.

He was the worst part of rogue one and in andor he fits in perfectly as a foil to Luthen in Andor. Gilroy+Willimon figured out how to use him in a way that works perfectly with the story+themes on Andor

It was always meant to be two seasons, it was always meant to finish in a way that it ties in to Rogue One. That was always the case, and Gilroy himself said so back when Andor S1 was airing. Fricking doomposters are the worst.

Gilroy has managed to squeeze out 9 fricking movies out of Disney before they got wise, and I for one can't fricking wait till it airs. Watching a complete show from beginning to end, that has a clear narrative, no trying to shoot for spin-offs, not trying to squeeze out more seasons out of it and having it tie off to a movie is honestly the best I could hope for.

Disney's strategy is to shove as much shit out the door as possible, they don't even check what sticks and change good things for no discernible reason.
Everyone liked Mando 1 and Andor 1, so what does Disney on the next seasons? Move focus away from them and water them down.
This isn't short-sightedness, this isn't even stupidity, it's complete lack of talent.
