SW is dead matte. Disney has never made a SW movie or show, ever. They own the IP so i guess they can put the brand logo and use the name and the trademarked elements of it but whatever they are doing is not Star Wars, it´s never been SW.
Believe it or not at some level everyone knows this. Most probably can´t break it down and tell exactly how the cinematography, themes, story telling style and other technical and artistic elements are different but everybody notices there is little in common between the two except for some shallow elements.
Disney´s only actual attempt to make something SW like was Mandalorian season 1 and they probably did so because of how poorly received their other pieces of media were. Not to mention that when it succeeded they immediately changed directions and made it like the rest. (At which point the quality plummeted and the show turned to shit).

Yep. A truly successful story, (like the original Star Wars) tells a fantasy epic that has characters that appeal to male fantasies (Luke / Han) and female fantasies (Leia / Padme). And they both fulfill roles within the counterpart's tale.

Female violence is sneaky.. it's poisoning his soup, stabbing him in his sleep. It's not heroically dueling with swords. So what is the appeal?
It plays out in media preferences for women, too. There's a reason they almost universally consume insane amounts of True Crime documentary shows. It appeals to the part of their brain that longs for the 'sneaky' violence you describe.

Women don't typically watch things for action, they don't even watch women's sports for reference. Women like social dramas, real crime shows, historical romance, that sort of thing. There are definitely some nerdy women who like this stuff but they are a smaller slice of the market that, in a normal environment, would not justify these huge investments to appeal to.

SW is dead matte. Disney has never made a SW movie or show, ever. They own the IP so i guess they can put the brand logo and use the name and the trademarked elements of it but whatever they are doing is not Star Wars, it´s never been SW.
Believe it or not at some level everyone knows this. Most probably can´t break it down and tell exactly how the cinematography, themes, story telling style and other technical and artistic elements are different but everybody notices there is little in common between the two except for some shallow elements.
Disney´s only actual attempt to make something SW like was Mandalorian season 1 and they probably did so because of how poorly received their other pieces of media were. Not to mention that when it succeeded they immediately changed directions and made it like the rest. (At which point the quality plummeted and the show turned to shit).
That said Disney is free to make whatever they want with the IP. They can not ruin SW because the fans as a whole have decided not to recognize their vision for it as legitimate. In layman terms people don´t watch because they don´t care about what Disney is doing or whatever it is it has to say. That´s not hate, that´s indifference.
