Well duh. Aquaman is supposed to be about undersea adventures.

And one of the villains you posted (Orm) isn't animal-themed, a pirate, or a sea god. He's Aquaman's brother.

Atlan is magical and long-living so one of a number of DC characters potentially perceived as immortal but he's magical and that doesn't make him godly any more than it makes Fate or Zee or Con Job godly.

Plus DC has an excess of 'godly' characters - which means jack shit if some imbecilic minions like Granny Goodness can capture, enslave or otherwise impact - including killing - them.

The thing is outside the main couple so many heroes have dogshit villains. And there are so many forgotten, underutilized villains too. And not to mention the "writer really wants to make this new villain happen" villains. Which I hate.

Really? Superman got Bizarro, Brainiac, Lex Luthor, General Zod, Mister Mxyzptlk, Ultra Humanite etc

This is such a Normie dog shit take, there are plenty of great and memorable villains for each hero if you actually read the stories that use them well

        Anonymous

One thing you realise about comics the more you read, they were disposable entertainment. There is a reason the same few stories are shilled by recommended lists. There are a lot of villains, even memorable well known ones without really good arcs that showcase them.

          Anonymous

Yeah sucks cause sometimes you'll get good stories/arcs with these villains now n then or they'll have had a really good showcase in the 70's or 80's but then you'll just have writers choosing one to shit on cause they can't write for shit and cause so many writers did that so often in the mid 2000's or now it has affected so many of them

          Anonymous

What muddies the water too is adaptations. I think a lot of Batman villains did well via the animated series for instance. I have never read a decent Mr Freeze story in the comics. There may be some great ones but the ones I've read are meh.
