The bronx is hilly as fuck
It's also by far the worst borough with the most crime; no tourist has any reason to go there unless it's to go to yankee stadium or MAYBE that one section that still has italian restaurants that's by Fordham University. The north part is fine for the most part but it's just residential.
When did Toronto turn into a shithole? I remember back when I was growing up we were regularly told how little crime, poverty and trash there was in Toronto, Canada's largest city, compared to our cities in the US. Now Toronto looks like a hellscape and has violent crime on par with New York.
most people here don't have issues even with trucks, all the homes here have garages and alleyways behind the 1880s era homes, it sets us apart from NYC. street parking is just for temp parking, although renters always park on streets, parallel parking is like second nature for me at this point.
Not true. I spent my high school years in a tiny rural community where everyone was pretty much poor and life was pretty nice. I'd rather be poor in the country than rich in the city.
East New York, Brooklyn. The only people that complain about “gentrification” are white transplants from CT or PA. Locals basically all agree that it’s nicer to have less crime and better stores. It’s undeniable that it has changed a lot since my childhood though and I understand the compulsion to romanticize the gritty dirtiness of the 90s and early 00s.
Yeah. Fuck cities.
>t. suburban sprawl dweller
where's the store?
Ya. A bunch of rude poor people
Yes.
Detroit is worse
Detroit has gotten better. By better I mean the downtown area has been gentrified. The majority of the city is still the same though.
>Are big cities really as awful and depressing as Gotham?
worse. at least gotham has 80s styles cars.
No, they're actually worse.
Worse.
They're much, much worse.
"Trash" cities in movies are made to look cinematic, real life trash cities are boring and lifeless, made to suck your soul.
same staircase from the movie btw
is this connecting 2 adjacent streets? I assumed NYC (where I assume it is) was pretty flat throughout
tho idk

I went up there once because of the Bronx zoo. The zoo was ok, but it the borough itself is pretty depressing.
>mfw going to Toronto from a small town that I live in
you must love wasting your money on rent
I'm not sure if that's worse than living there your entire life and seeing it slowly get worse and worse as the decades have gone by

na, here's where I live in the third largest city in the US. being poor anywhere is what's depressing.
I think I could only handle city life if I was extremely wealthy - living in a safe and secure apartment and the money to travel everywhere by driver.
what are the first 2 ?
NYC and LA. LA is kinda skewed though because it's just miles and miles of sprawl.
Both shitholes. Boston is especially depressing though. Grey hellhole of a place.
I prefer dark and grey to 365 days of heat, sun and Hispanics like LA has.
There’s like 3000 miles in between those cities anon. Find something there.
Looks like gta 5
I bet it’s a pain in the ass to park with that truck

Neighborhood? So my Latino ass can immigrated over there
>white/gnomish neighborhoods
That's cheating.
>here's where I live in the third largest city in the US
is this chicago?
>being poor anywhere is what's depressing.

No if youre not poor and have a social life.
Yes. Go to LA and see for yourself.
You can't smell Gotham, but you CAN smell Manhattan and holy shit does it fuckin stink.
They're worse because at least in Gotham everyone was honest about being miserable, in real life people pretend to actually like living in the city
To be fair Gotham didn't have halal carts. Num num.
they're ok if youre born there and have friends, if youre lonely and incapable of making friends theyre agonizing to live in
yes
These threads always remind me of how happy I am to have lived in NYC since I was a child. We don’t even think about you.
where in NYC? im always curious about what its like being a native

did you go into the city much or did you mostly stay in brooklyn?
do you still live in the area?
same dude i'm from sheepshead bay
If they're american, yes.
london is dirtier and more gross than this even without all the homeless. let that sink in
No it isn't. There isn't anything remotely comparable to Skid Row in London.
>America
Literally every major city on earth right now has at least one massive post apocalyptic shithole section within it.
I lived in a big city and I lived in villages and small towns and the latter are better. Big cities get old fast.
If you think Gotham looks bad then look at any South American city. Batman wouldn't last one day.
South American cities don't have sprawling art deco skyscrapers from a bygone age to make an aesthetic Batman setting
Only democrat run ones
if youre loaded its a great time. if youre middle/lower class/homeless its a never ending waking nightmare
When whites became a minority, yeah.
would you live in tim burton's gotham?
Burtons gothom was kino and comfy
yes
its based on New York/New Jersey in the 1970s and 80s
The big rat that scurries past is comical
It's probably dead now
Sao Paulo is worse
