Detroit has gotten better. By better I mean the downtown area has been gentrified. The majority of the city is still the same though.

The bronx is hilly as frick
It's also by far the worst borough with the most crime; no tourist has any reason to go there unless it's to go to yankee stadium or MAYBE that one section that still has italian restaurants that's by Fordham University. The north part is fine for the most part but it's just residential.

I went up there once because of the Bronx zoo. The zoo was ok, but it the borough itself is pretty depressing.

When did Toronto turn into a shithole? I remember back when I was growing up we were regularly told how little crime, poverty and trash there was in Toronto, Canada's largest city, compared to our cities in the US. Now Toronto looks like a hellscape and has violent crime on par with New York.

I think I could only handle city life if I was extremely wealthy - living in a safe and secure apartment and the money to travel everywhere by driver.

NYC and LA. LA is kinda skewed though because it's just miles and miles of sprawl.

Both shitholes. Boston is especially depressing though. Grey hellhole of a place.

most people here don't have issues even with trucks, all the homes here have garages and alleyways behind the 1880s era homes, it sets us apart from NYC. street parking is just for temp parking, although renters always park on streets, parallel parking is like second nature for me at this point.

Not true. I spent my high school years in a tiny rural community where everyone was pretty much poor and life was pretty nice. I'd rather be poor in the country than rich in the city.

East New York, Brooklyn. The only people that complain about “gentrification” are white transplants from CT or PA. Locals basically all agree that it’s nicer to have less crime and better stores. It’s undeniable that it has changed a lot since my childhood though and I understand the compulsion to romanticize the gritty dirtiness of the 90s and early 00s.
