Capeshit that fully embraces the fact it's capeshit and doesn't pretend to be witty or deep.

They're live action cartoons but they're good cartoons that unironically have soul. Pretty much like said.

2 is the actual peak of superhero movies. It's all been downhill since.

1 and 2 are great and mog the capeshit of the 2010s
    3 is an acquired taste

Spider-Man 3 honestly isn't as bad as almost anyone says and isn't even that much of a step down from the first 2. Imagine the disappointment and boredom from the brown MCU masses if they put this scene in an Iron Man movie.

Also I just checked. The Editor's Cut version of this scene has a better song choice in the second half.
There are quite a few scenes in the EC that are better just because of better music selection.

This is just because we had a higher standard for our media back then. The shittier films of that era look like masterpieces in comparison to the slop we are served now. Also see Prequel trilogy compared to modern star wars.

3>2>1 and I love Dafoe's Norman but the action sequences, overall cinematography and performances in Spiderman 3 mog the rest by a mile, mostly in Spiderman 2 all the civilians and supporting cast act like fricking npcs including their reactions, in Spiderman 3 even secondary characters like Gwen and Ursula steal the show, only a cuck would consider Spiderman 3 the worst of the trilogy, easily the fricking best, the church sequence mogs 1 and 2 hard

I see what you're saying but there is a lot of obvious missed potential in Spider-Man 3 and things that are just conceptually dull are given too much focus. The person that Eddie Brock is written to be just doesn't fit the tone of this series at all, even compared to all the other characters in Spider-Man 3 alone. Sandman fits like a glove, but the Uncle Ben retcon is among the worst elements of capeshit. I think Harry's arc was straight up robbed and like the plan from the end of Spider-Man 2 was 90% removed to focus on the symbiote plot. And I think the symbiote just making the wearer more evil is just a shitty concept that never feels relatable to real life.

I don't think Spider-Man 3 is bad and I don't listen to tardtubers give their inane opinions about the Raimi movies. See

. It's just impossible to feel like everything that 3 is flows as naturally from 2 as 2 does from 1, and it's because significant choices in it are genuinely not from the creative vision of what made everything good in those movies, as has been documented. The highlights are easily Peter and MJ's relationship hurdles and Sandman when none of those things are interacting with the symbiote plot.

3 was always good, just Venomtards sperged out. It wasn't as good as 1 and 2 obviously but it was still an incredibly well shot film and shits on absolutely everything coming out today.

Rare moment of long underwear fiction that's actually good art and not manchildren mashing action figures together or assembly line corporate slop. Thematically they have more in common with coming-of-age movies than anything else, which gives them a lot of appeal to adults. I'd want a Spider-Man 4 to happen with Raimi directing the original cast playing similarly-aged versions of their characters, but I simply don't believe it would be allowed to be good.

“Capeshit” is a term that means different things to different people, with some people using it to mean any superhero IP (so things like Joker or The Dark Knight are capeshit) and some people using it only to refer to specifically the MCU formula (so even slop like the Snyder movies aren’t technically capeshit because it’s at least a different formula, even early MCU isn’t capeshit either). And then there’s a myriad of other definitions between these two extremes.
Anyway, Raimi Spider-Man movies aren’t following the generic MCU formula, and the creator did genuinely like Spider-Man comics and adapted them well. Practical effects. There’s CGI too, but not a horrible over reliance that makes the movies an eyesore to watch. They don’t have that awful Whedon style of quip writing. They’re lots of fun, they hold up.
The 3rd definitely has some dumb scenes but it’s not a bad movie overall

It used to be that we didn't call director driven Superhero movies like Burton's Batman, Raimi's Spiderman, Nolan's Batman, Del Toro's Hellboy, etc... capeshit but the MCU and The DCEU have tanked Comicbook movies' reputation so much that people aren't willing to give an inch to CBMs.

    >tobey maguire looks like the biggest moron doing moron faces
    >green goblin wearing a moronic mecha suit
    >doctor ock being a "tragic villain"
    >Topher Grace looks more like a peter parker than the moron maguire
    >MJ romance
    >some of the most moronic extras in history of cinema

my favorite one is people calling spider-man 3 "schlock". Yeah, because the first two movies were so fricking serious and realistic. "Jameson you slime!"

    What a fricking joke

I'm sure that you already get this a lot, but you sound like a fun person to be around and talk to, but I'm not sure you take yourself seriously enough.
