Some great lighting in this film

      kino as frick
I want to have sex with Emily Blunt

How is she so lovely in this? The natural look because of light makeup? The fearful, nervous expression that makes you want to protect her?

I really liked the first one. I haven't seen the sequel, but it kept Brolin and Banderas, so it is probably decent at least.

      They're great movies.

It's arguably better because there's no Blunt moralgayging at every turn so Brolin and Banderas can do their thing. It also has prime Moner dressed as a school girl

        >Blunt moralgayging

The first one was pure kino, the second kinda sucks because they were baiting for a trilogy

The first one is an all-time classic.

First one is good, second was a disappointment.

      First is kino
Second is ass but Moner is in it

THEY NEVER MADE A SEQUEL posters are indeed, correct. supreme gentlemens.

Nah. No Villy, no Deakins, no Johannesberg(?), no Bogdanoff, it's just typical modern slop.

The sequel is garbage. The director is poorly trying to imitate Villeneuve's style and fails miserably. The story is shit. its just your typical nu Hollywood flic.
I consider the first one a modern masterpiece.

It's shit, very disappointing. Del toro kidnaps some cartel leaders daughter and then saves her from the evil American government is the gist of it.
      Action also sucks.

Because films like this are rarely made anymore. Amongst a seemingly endless sea of brainless slop, somehow a film like this gets made that’s genuinely tense, thrilling, smart etc and you’re just like meh overrated.

It's still baffling to me that Denis had a really good track record with Deakins and then decided to ditch him for that monochromatic homosexual Graig Fraser for Dune.

How come every time I watch a movie, someone makes a thread about it on Cinemaphile? Am I being stalked.
Regardless, first one is good, among Villeneuve's best. Second one is an okay action flick, Moner was cute in it too I guess, definitely not as good as the first one.
Third one will probably suck, assuming it even comes out.

      >There are two scenes that are really elite all-timers.
Which ones are you referring to?
I always thought the end scene with Del Toro and Blunt was great.
      >this is a land of wolves
      >and you're not a wolf
      ... or whatever it was.
Also, Blunt was the perfect pick for the role because she didn't really have to act the part of an incompetent female way out of her depth.
