He wasn't fired because he took time off for his daughter. If they hadn't already started filming Justice League before BvS came out he never wound have been allowed to make it at all

I don't even really hate Snyder but I just hated his take on Superman from MoS onwards. Wanting to show a more introspective Superman is fine but Snyder had him take such a back seat in BvS he became more of a plot device than character and his future plans for Superman beyond Justice League didn't appeal to me either

It's a bit disingenuous to say Gunn's style isn't what helped make GOTG a success and as we've seen lately the MCU isn't invincible. It's not his fault Marvel decided to poorly implement his style brand wide after the first film

I think they watched the third movie because they were invested in the characters Gunn had made popular. If it was just investment in the MCU for the MCU's sake then Antman 3 or Captain Marvel 2 wouldn't have bombed

It's not disrespect, it's stupidity. Gunn didn't like the original S crest so he went with the Kingdom Come -crest, but he didn't commit and instead made it small and gave it a yellow background. Gunn didn't like the original Superman suit, so he went with the New 52 suit, but (again) he didn't commit and gave him trunks and a belt.

Not to mention that the suit is baggy and looks like it's made of rubber.

He doesn't have to say it, because he literally removed it. The iconic S has been used for half a century, and it's still used in the comics.

It's a interesting story and even got an animated movie but I don't think it's the right choice for a Superman reboot.

Brainiac being as strong/stronger than Superman will never NOT be stupid as a concept.

Brainiac has ultra-super-science and a full knowledge of all of Superman's weaknesses and limitations, he does NOT need to be able to slug it out with Superman to be a threat.
