Why do Americans care so much about gaps on resumes?
I left my last job a couple months ago and decided I'd just be funemployed for a bit, take time to catch up with everyone I haven't had time to and I'll probably start looking for a new job around April and that's not a problem at all

Because it implies the person isn't motivated to work. This only applies to men. Women can have gaps in resume because they can be mothers or housewifes in general.

Here are some tips from HR nightmare for your wagies:

      >Treat it as a date because lolwomen
      >Give short answers, always. Don't confuse her with long sentences because she doesn't understand your qualifications because she is reading from the paper the standard questions.
      >Have a great CV picture in your resume because that's how women decide their applicants.
      >Remove gaps by some bullshit reason like this Anon
      >Try to create a hobby which is unique like learning a new language, reading or writing.
      >Avoid video games, movies, gym and travelling at all costs. These are bland answers. They hear these hobbies from daily.
      >When they ask if you are willing to come work every day, try to create some hobby that might take some time off from work for example:" on Saturdays I spend my time with my parents and I would like to have it free IF POSSIBLE." Implies that you have a life outside of work ( you don't).
      >If they ask for connections or contact info from your former boss, don't lose your cool. It's a bluff to see how you react.

This is only applicable if you have a low-wage, maxxgrind job with low possibilities of climbing up.

A real job doesn't make you jump through these bullshit hoops. You talk to the project manager, convince them you're hot shit, and they do whatever to take you on. Last 3 jobs were like this. I kek at the thought of all the scrubs applying for the listed position because it's usually fake, (just for me), and a requirement by law, and thus all applications get dumped in a bin.

        Feels good to have qualifications

there is some truth to this. I've worked about 6 months of the 35 years I've been alive, and I still get mistaken for being in my early 20s all the time. most of my friends are normies who have been working their whole lives and all the dudes are going bald and the women look like they're pushing 50.

maybe, but I doubt it. i had to take medication in my teens to curb my "aggressive tendencies" due to high test so it's possible they completely fricked my hormones with it, but I'm still horny and angry 24/7 even into my 30s while my friends often complain about sexless relationships and how they often feel too tired to even bother anyway (probably cope on their part but still)

This is why people go to Uni. Or vocation if that is a real option in your country.
