No it was before, there was a guy dressed as Kira from Jojo's that stabbed a bunch of people in a train. When arrested and asked if he was the Joker he said "sure".
And apparently there's been similar more minor incidents but I haven't looked into it.

That's kind of a weird parallel to make considering the only similarities between the Joker and Kira are they kill people.
That and they both have mental illness to some degree. Of course Joker doesn't get a boner to hands quite like Kira does as far as I know.
>So what movie are they gonna rip off this time? Sweeney Todd?
The asylum setting makes me think it will have elements of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
I mean the reason they're pivoting to gimmicky shit like this is BECAUSE they know it wasn't going to top the previous movie which took everybody by surprise. Really the movie didn't need a sequel, but they just want to make it to cash in. Low chance lightning strikes twice. It'll do fine, just not billion dollar fine.
>they're pivoting
Eh, pivot? It is thematically consistent in the sense that they are once again giving an old Martin Scorsese movie a batman skin. But I'm definitely impressed with this choice because they could have easily tried to make a more straight forward "da joker is back baby" epic type sequel that would have indeed been lame.
The Gaga/Musical thing is such a brilliant move. Glad to hear they aren't really trying to make some predictable followup and are instead reinventing and subverting. I can see this easily outperforming the first one.
NO FRICKING WAY. These reports better be fricking real. I pray that Joker 2 is really a Martin Scorsese directed musical like they say. Even if its shit, its guaranteed to be funny. DC better not puss out I swear to fricking god
harley quinn and joker as musical makes sense
Specially if you go full psychology fantasy and breakdown

Itvs going to be campy with the reveal that it's actually grim and they are delusional, like Shutter Island.
And it'll still make more than Multiverse of Reddit
So what movie are they gonna rip off this time? Sweeney Todd?
Joker is peak reddit
Thor 4 flopped
Is someone paying you to keep mentioning Marvel in these threads?
>the objective term "flop" has been ruined by reactionist morons
Joker is not reddit. Joker is literally real life.
Unironically Japan wants to ban this movie.
Turns out it hits too close to home, kek.
lol just because Hideo Kojima killed Abe with a PVC gun?
How come nobody ever thought of making one anyway, if firearms are so hard to get in Japan?

This genuinely sounds like it has better chances of being good than any sort of straightforward sequel

That actually sounds kino but I know they won't go full camp with it.
This, it actually sounds like a very fun idea but I fear it will take itself too seriously instead of going hogwild

Kino incoming?
WB after putting NPH in Matrix 4 has him on a hotline.
It sounds like the musical episode of Oz at this point.
It's gonna be kino if they're in this direction.
>t. 37 year old low income white woman
>unironic batman musical
A SUPERSTITIOUS COWARDLY LOOOOT
THEY PLOT

schwarbage
Joker should've just stayed a stand alone movie. Greedy bastards can't just have a one and done
>Arkham Asylum: The Musical
SOVL

>Oct. 4 2024 official release date

>Joker 2 is going to be Bug (2006) meets Dancer in the Dark

>musical sequence where all villains use their comic book costumes
Yep, kino incoming.
