          >There are actually a ton of people saying it's entirely the fault of the armorer and Baldwin should just walk.

it's amazing how many people don't know how any fricking thing actually works, but want to have opinions.

After Brandon Lee got shot, there were new industry wide rules on guns on set, that start with the armorer and go through producers and directors all the way to the actor holding the gun, all designed to make another on-set shooting impossible. Pretty much every single one of them was being broken repeatedly, and it all boiled down to Baldwin finally breaking the very most basic rule of set gun safety, which is that an actor never ever points a gun at another human being.

When firefights and gun scenes are being shot, unless the gun is literally made out of plastic they are never actually pointing at each other. They always point a couple feet off to the side, FOR THIS REASON, and forced perspective is used to make it look like they're pointing at each other. But if you look closely when watching films and shows you'll never be able to un-see it. On any real shoot, if you even sweep a crewmember for a second when carrying a gun around it's an instant all-hands gun safety meeting and at least a writeup, maybe you get fired. He pointed the gun at a person and pulled the trigger.

Sure, the armorer should never have brought live ammo to a set, and the guns should've been locked up at all times, not lying on a fricking table, and the producer who got the gun for Baldwin was supposed to supervise the armorer as she unloaded the gun and demonstrated it was clear, and then he was supposed to repeat the process when handing it to Baldwin, but then Baldwin knew damn well as a multi-decade veteran that you NEVER point a gun directly at another person, ever. And he did, and then he pulled the trigger.

How moronic is the American cultural perception of liability that a person can shoot someone so long as the gun was loaded by someone else? How absolutely bone headed and scatter brained do you have to be to say someone who fires a gun has absolutely 100% no type of responsibility over saftey precautions.

I think you underestimate just how much of a stupid butthole Alec Baldwin is. Leaving aside all the assaults that he got away with, he actually, despite being rich and famous, managed to get thrown off a flight. Drunk? Disorderly? Nope, he just refused to switch his phone to airplane mode for takeoff, because he was playing a game on it.

You have insulted me for the last time. You have insulted me. You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being. I don't give a damn that you're twelve years old or eleven years old or that you're a child or that your mother is a thoughtless pain-in-the-ass who doesn't care about what you do as far as I'm concerned. You have humiliated me for the last time with this phone. And when I come out there next week, I'm gonna fly out there for the day just to straighten you out on this issue. I'm going to let you know just how disappointed in you I am and how angry I am with you that you've done this to me again. You've made me feel like shit and you've made me feel like a fool over and over and over again. And this crap you pull on me with this goddamned phone situation that you would never dream about doing to your mother, and you do it to me constantly and over and over again. I'm gonna get on a plane or I'm gonna come out there for the day and I'm gonna straighten your ass out when I see you. Do you understand me? I'm gonna really make sure you get it. Gonna get on a plane, gonna turn around, and I'm gonna come home. So you better be ready Friday the 20th to meet with me, so I'm gonna let you know just how I feel about what a rude little pig you really are. You are a rude, thoughtless little pig, okay?

Alec Baldwin was on the phone during firearms training for a movie where he fatally shot a cinematographer on set, prosecutors said, as they charged him with involuntary manslaughter.

Mr Baldwin was "distracted" talking to family members on his mobile phone during training on how to operate the prop gun, Robert Shilling, a special investigator for the district attorney's office, wrote in a statement of probable cause filed with the manslaughter charges.

The charging document outlines at least a dozen "acts or omissions of recklessness" leading up to the shooting, including:

Not using a replica firearm for an unscheduled rehearsal

Letting the armourer leave the set against protocol

Deviating from the practice of only receiving the gun from the armourer

Not dealing with safety complaints on set

Not performing required safety checks with the armourer, who was hired without adequate certification

Mr Baldwin has previously denied responsibility for the shooting. He argued in media interviews that he did not pull the trigger on the gun and that it had just "gone off", prosecutors alleged.

But photos and videos from the Rust shooting depict Mr Baldwin practising drawing and firing the weapon with his finger inside the trigger guard and on the trigger multiple times, prosecutors said.

In addition, officials with the FBI found the gun could not be fired without pulling the trigger, according to a report the agency sent to the Santa Fe County Sherriff's Office.
