Should really leave this site one day, probably. Or at least these boards that just like to play contrarian for some reason or other, /misc/ is obvious enough but most of the shitposting here and other boards feels like it's just wasting everyone's braincells. It's not even fun shitposting.
Them why publish at all, if you're not looking for reception or endorsement from any fan base whether niche or large then keep your art to yourself and you will only have your approval and never have to critique anything
Don't show the result then? You know you can actually draw or make something without shoving it down everybody's throats?
But if you do that, you actually expect something from people. In 99 % of the cases it's praise and attention.
That's true, I guess. There's no agreement -- an artist doesn't owe their audience any work or explanations, and the a (would-be) audience doesn't owe an artist any money or attention. Everyone just gets what they get.
It seems like what pisses people off in audience-artist relationships is when they believe there's an imbalance between what one side is getting and what that side "should" be getting. As examples: >A) Artist doesn't deliver, but audience wants more >B) Artist delivering supposedly good work consistently, but doesn't find an audience >C) Artist's work is supposedly dog shit, but has a big audience anyway
I think things like this strike people as unjust. Audiences say, "why does based Artist B struggle, when ungrateful Artist A doesn't even appreciate their success? Is he an asshole?" and things like that. Meanwhile, artists say, "why is that hack Artist C so successful, when nobody will give based Artist B the time of day? Are these people stupid?" and such. When artists and audiences see these things as issues of justice, they feel justified in getting pissed off about it, and grow to resent each other. Resentment includes an element of fear, so objectively true statements like, "the artist doesn't actually have to make this" or, "you're lucky anyone cares about your art" start to sound like threats, and deepen the resentment.
Not hard coded, no, utterly an artist should not take their relationship with the fandom as granted, because it is quite easy to switch to someone other.
>an artist should not take their relationship with the fandom as granted, because it is quite easy to switch to someone other.
I like your retarded post. Make another one, or else I'm going to go an enjoy someone else's post. Pic related is my fan art of anon.
>because it is quite easy to switch to someone other.
What?
I can't believe anon hasn't explained himself to you yet. Doesn't he care about his fandom? He's such a fucking homosexual.
fuck you viv, fuck you and your shitty cartoons
Vivzie owes me a fat belly pic.
That’s bad business
bumping for actual opinions

Not really. They get paid by the studio not the fans.
how does the studio get paid?
Shows and creators like Maxwell Atoms get paid a flat fee by the studio, it doesn't matter how well it does.
>Is not given another season or series their first one flops

You should enjoy the process itself rather than the result or praise from fans

One word, five letters: Money
Fans don't owe artists anything
her smile and optimism gone
Fuck off viv I'm not gonna watch your shitty cartoon
Ok, fans don’t owe artists anything either. Only artists rely on the give and take so they should be grateful they even have fans
True
death of the author > auteur theory > not being media literate enough to interpret either way > OP's bait
And yet when something fails they're more than willing to pin all the blame on others.
You're not the intended audience anon.
He is though, OP is a show for adults
>Anything made by Vivziepop
>”For adults”
KEK
Correct. Also, the artist isn't entitled to jack shit from their fans - money, praise, nothing.
>The little bourgeoisie don't owe their workers anything.
Without the audience/workers, you are nothing.
They owe them their success. If they hold contempt for the fans then they shouldn't be surprised when their fanbase leaves.
Does Vivze hate her own creations?
I would
she definitely hated that poor bastard Chaz

Reminder, Viv still seethes over being booted off oh Hazbin Hotel. That's why she's made the characters from Helluva Boss the complete opposite
Why can't western artists be thankful like jp ones?
When your show is being funded by your fans, I'd argue that you owe them at least something.
I hate Lord Bung so fucking much
The only "artists" who say that are the ones malding over their lack of talent.
