At some point there was a switch. They started to mock pop culture for the sake of mocking it and having fun, now they do it because it is what is expected of them
Bloody Mary was the first mark of the show turning bad, even though there were still good episodes after it. It was a shitty episode that heralded where the show was going.
In my memory, whatever season Go God, Go was in was the last really good season of the show.

way back when they started catering to "modern" young kids (i.e young millenials) they started bring up the goth kids more and getting into like relationship drama with the kids, they made kenny a superpowered mutant and shit. you could tell they hired writers to appeal to a new audience and it never came back. it was a season or two before coon and friends i think.

The NASCAR episode was unwatchable. All the episodes that season sucked. I have never once watched more than 20 minutes of any auto race in my life so maybe if I gave a shit one way or another it might have cared about the episode.
