Australia's own CHRIS HEMSWORTH blamed for Aussie theaters closing due to FURIOSA flopping

>An Australian cinema complex in the regional town of Emerald, Queensland is at risk of foreclosure after Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga failed to attract audiences.

>Chris Hemsworth's expected blockbuster is fighting to break even on its USD $168million (AUD $251million) budget, despite a huge marketing campaign.

>Stephen Goddard, the manager of Emerald Cinema Complex in QLD, sold just 222 tickets to the struggling epic in its first week, and said these disastrous numbers could spell the end of his 20-year business.

>'Furiosa is actually a really good movie, but it won’t matter. I can pretty confidently say we won't get to December,' admitted the business owner, who said a hit film would usually sell 1050 tickets in a week.

>'We will probably shut down. Back in 2006 to 2009, the top movies sold 4500 - 5000 seats, We did 66,000 seats all through that period.

Aussie bros ...we let one of ours down... Hemsworth bros.....

Every man knows on a conscious and subconscious level that they are physically superior to 99.99% of women, and the ones who actually are stronger than him are disgusting freaks.
so the idea of a female action heros should be limited to fighter pilots, submarine crews, or snipers. seeing a woman with grime or soot on her face always makes me chuckle, especially when they try to do that fierce angry face like they're a determined fighter.
just frick off, not a single man on earth buys the idea of a competent female action hero. it destroys the movie.
    it. will. not. sell. tickets.

This. I've trained judo with women and it's rare that one won't put 1000% in even the lightest grappling just to try to beat a man. And then complain immediately when they lose that the man used strength instead of technique and it wasn't fair.

      Anonymous

A well placed bullet makes physical strength irrelevant, guns are the big equalizer who brought kings and peasants to the same level, if a woman can handle a gun better than you nothing else makes a difference.

Old movies doing new runs make a profit compared to their budget, which is basically $0, but they don't make nearly as much as an actual new release that does well. Theaters couldn't survive off of old movies, they make less money for them than even something like Furiosa does.

Actually not bad and Hemsworth is the best part of it. Miller really isn't a part of the woke scene, it's what made Fury Road so enjoyable to so many. Furiosa is a really fun movie just not what audiences were wanting apparently, perhaps because it appears to be woke bullshit on the surface level.

But it's really not deep. No Mad Max movie is. It's more like fun irl anime.

Yeah, it's literally anything but the obvious move to have a female lead take over another masculine franchise.

If you're going to have a male-oriented franchise centered around female characters, you need to do this right here. That includes the feminine personalities, the 11/10 bodies, and the complete lack of misandry. If you're going to play along with this idea that being male-oriented is bigoted in some way, the men (ugh) are just going to leave, and the mythological modern audience isn't going to be big enough to take their place. If this aesthetic doesn't fit with the atmosphere of your show, maybe it's not the right show for prominent female characters.
