Weird how 9/11 both exists for zoomers and doesn’t at the same time. Like, I barely remember it but I can at least remember it vaguely. Zoomers have grown up with images of the event and may have even been alive for it but have no concept or conscious memory of that day.

                >inb4 fedora
Not for that reason, but for the fact it makes me imagine real world things in that style because if Christians and Americans exist:
                >Jews exist which means pogroms and WW2 existed which means I need to imagine countless war horror stories in that style
                >the Pandas are from the CCP and that means all the moronic CCP mass deaths and dystopia nightmares exist
                >bear Spotlight happened
                >bear 9/11 happened
                Etc. Etc. Etc.

Not like that, it's the same reason I hate the Christmas episode of Arthur revealing Francine is israeli or Dave literally namedropping Jesus: it makes me imagine real world stuff in that art style and I find it uncanny. If anything, your memeing just reinforces it because if israelites exist, then so do low effort antisemite douchebags and the philosemites who fight them which only exacerbates everything.

                Anonymous

But have you considered that Arthur’s library card also prove the existence of israelites? You see the only reason he has a library card is because of libraries, which can only exist in smaller communities like his because of the printing revolution started by the creation of Gutenberg’s printing press, which he invented to create bibles more easily and spread the word of God, the bible only exist because of Christianity, and Christianity exists because of israelites.

Oh no it's not. Russia's economy was known to be weak as it didn't really develop beyond harvesting natural resources. It was its military that was outed to be a joke. China's a little more uncertain, one because it did develop its economy, and its military is more than just Russian knockoffs.
                >The rampant speculation in their real estate market alone is going to cause an economic shitstorm no matter how much they try to shore it up.
Yeah but that's not End of Days devastating. It's going to hurt. And hurt bad, but that is still recoverable.

I will agree however that it's in dire straits. Which is why it's so terrifying they're the most likely candidate after the US to seize power.

Pretty much, Russia lashed out with Ukraine because it's on a demographic timer trying to project power and secure some form of a future. China's housing market speculation, the fact that people can't withdraw money from the banks to access their life savings, their demographics, and the overall authoritarian nature is going to drag them through the mud sooner than later. India would be fine if it didn't embrace socialism for the last 50 years, stagnating its economic development, also they need to base their nationalism on India as a culture rather than Hinduism as it seems to invite extremist. America's pretty secured it's demographics through immigration and assimilation, it just needs to suppress the cultural war and increasing political polarization and it'll be fine.

I know why thirdies want U.S to fall as we'd done our fair share of fricking around, but any failure on the U.S's would be more of a detriment to the world than a benefit, even if it brings them some type of cathartic revenge.

The fall of the American empire would lead to a power vacuum that many others would immediately seek to fill. Expect a lot of big wars when it happens.

                >The fall of the American empire would lead to a power vacuum that many others would immediately seek to fill
No it's going to lead to a collapse in world stability. Everyone will be fighting each other, not for domiation of the globe, but just to reestablish some sembalnce of order in their local area. Ever heard "When America coughs, the world catches a cold"? The soft power the US has been exerting for the past 50+ years has formed integral bonds across many nations. Countries with no ties to the US are still held aloft by countries that do. If that all disappeared overnight, everything would collapse with it.

It's one reason why China has been reinvesting so much money they made off the US back into US infrastructure. They know what would happen with such a violent fall, and they want to keep that from happening.

The bigger problem is that Zoomers are growing up on a diet of fast paced short length entertainment and living in a world where news essentially keeps getting filtered in and out within days. They have been conditioned to basically not pay attention, believe everything at face value and if they try to look into anything the next big fad or bot of news has already pushed aside what they were interested in learning about. They're living in a world of goldfish level memorization and I can't imagine how bad it must be to constantly be living in the now when understanding what happened is the only way to make up for mistakes. If any generation apart from Millenials will start a Nuclear War it'll be the Zoomers.

Dude, Plato said the same thing about writing destroying the attention span and memory of the youth who could no longer recall the wisdom of the philosophers from memory.
              >If men learn this, it will implant forgetfulness in their souls; they will cease to exercise memory because they rely on that which is written, calling things to remembrance no longer from within themselves, but by means of external marks. What you have discovered is a recipe not for memory, but for reminder. And it is no true wisdom that you offer your disciples, but only its semblance, for by telling them of many things without teaching them you will make them seem to know much, while for the most part they know nothing, and as men filled, not with wisdom, but with the conceit of wisdom, they will be a burden to their fellows

yes but he said it in phaedrus, a dialogue written by Plato. It's generally believed that Plato's dialogues represent Plato's own views, using his teacher Socrates as a sort of self-insert. What Socrates himself believed is kind of uncertain, because he never wrote anything of his own. This is called the Socratic problem.

I was born in 1988 and remember seeing globes and world maps that still mentioned USSR / Soviet Union when I was in Kindergarten (1993), though I went to a brand new school starting in 1st grade which had all new updated globes and maps that showed the Soviet Union broken apart.

I also have vague memories of watching the start of Operation Desert Storm on TV

I get that, I was born in the 90's and my school was so cheap that one of the maps was still out of date 7 or 8 years later so the teacher tried to tell us how that some of that didn't exist anymore.

It kind of went over my head and I think I just thought that part of the land sank into the earth and the hole sealed itself.

Things were less polarized, less conspiratorial (relatively speaking) and we had no social media so people had to actually ruminate on things. Combine that with an actual massive terrorist attack , what felt like a new one every other day (DC Snipers, the Anthrax attack, Richard Reed the shoe bomber, London Bus attacks, Madrid Train Bombings all around the same time) AND two major wars at the same time shit was fricking crazy. Now a days we have people doom mongering about nuclear war and WW3 but back then it actually felt like shit was popping off for real

Man I must've been too edgy to care. I was in highschool for those years and the only thing I remember being surprised about was Steve Irwin getting killed by a stingray. I don't remember people in my age group being seriously concerned about it, just a lot of sarcasm and making fun of everything.

I was 13 on 9/11 and I remember being relieved that it got me out of English class. Our homeroom teacher was letting us do whatever while we watched the news, so I set up a spot under the computer table and took a nap. At lunch, a bunch of us guys were joking that Bush was gonna nuke the middle east and start World War 3, sarcastically joking and saying things like "Well it was nice knowing you guys!". When I got home from school, I was just annoyed that I couldn't watch Toonami because every channel was showing the news, so I played vidya instead.

Maybe it would've been different if I had ever been to DC or NYC. or ever spent much time in airports (due to the stricter security measures that were implemented). We were supposed to have a DC field trip during the 2001/2002 school year, but that got cancelled for obvious reasons. And I've only been on a plane like 6 times in my whole life (3 round trips).

How was it after Oklahoma City bombing? I'm sure it had less of an impact as it was in Oklahoma and wasn't documented live for the world to see.

No. It was documented. But McVeigh was caught shortly thereafter, and was a right wing extremist, so Republicans were disinclined to constantly harp about him. It changed how a lot of laws and security procedures worked though.

I got in trouble in 1st grade (circa 2006) because we were doing a project with the 6th graders that had us turn shapes into items by drawing on them. And the guys I was placed with had me make the circle into a bomb.

              >how I see 9/11
Well, I was in NYC at the time so I got sorta the residual experience of living there when it happened. I remember a lot of support of the FDNY. I remember seeing bodegas with newspapers with Bin Laden’s face on it. I remember seeing the smoke from the towers and ambulances racing down the avenues. I remember finding out that I couldn’t go back to the WTC for the train to New Jersey because it got destroyed. But all feel about as distant as any memory you had when you’re 7.
Funny enough, I left the city not long after that and moved to the DC area right around when the Beltway Sniper started doing shit. The first guy was killed literally behind my neighborhood and I have memories of being worried about white vans coming to kill me which felt more vivid than the 9/11 memories. It was a wild few years for me.

So my first ever trip after 9/11 I get hit by the metal detector and pulled to the side where there's a whole ass army dude with a gun in his hand. My dad was there and he was freaking out for obvious reasons, but more than that fricking EVERYONE was looking at me.

No, I get it. As a 1991 Millennial, I will never fully understand how major things like the Kennedy Assassination or Woodstock were. Nor will anyone alive, present or future, ever truly understand the Battle of Gettysburg, the Gold Rush, the fall of the Roman Empire, the Krakatoa Eruption, etc.

Even as a 10 year old boy, I didn't really understand how & why 9/11 was such a big deal. I absolutely acknowledged how life was different, afterwards, even as a kid.

She's right for the wrong reasons.

Getting a kid some basic-ass How To Youtube book, especially when he's this autistic, is just gonna make him worse.

If he really wants to Youtube then he needs to EARN IT. He needs to put in effort. Make him *bleed* for his art. If he gives up, he didn't want it enough.

If she really wanted to support him, she'd get him a plane ticket to LA, where he could meet Mr Beast and swallow his semen to earn his powers like the shamans of old. That's what a good Christian mom would do.

          Anonymous

No kid should be on Youtube.

First, it's not art. Frick you. Youtube as a company NEVER rewards art. It rewards low effort ad-baiting.

Kids shouldn't do Youtube because they don't understand what's happening. If their videos do well, they think THEY are cool and neat. If their videos do badly, they think THEY aren't cool. They don't think. "Oh, this bot controlled by a multinational monopoly that is regularly sued for blatant anti-trust does/does not find me profitable based on intentionally inscrutable criteria."

Look at the hottest Youtubers. None of it's good. We all hate those fricks on some level. They have fans but deep down most of us know the content is barely passable and only surface level entertaining, because it's designed to host ads like an insect hosts a fungus. Most Youtubers don't even realize how they're being controlled or encouraged towards specific formats.

The Ryan Toy Review kid will suffer a tragedy one day. No kid should be a Youtuber. Don't even let them watch Youtube. It is bad for them, it's designed to be bad and addictive on purpose. Don't encourage kids to engage with Youtube.

I mean "the cum factory" sounds like a moronic zoomer joke because they're discovering adult biology and making crass jokes out of it. Like how South Park originally was all about how your average 10 year olds are kinda fricked in the head and not the precious cherubs adults think kids are.

Similarly how ironic is the Christian deer mom thing? I'm so used to oblique Christianity in a character being either preachy or "religion BAD bc dad made me go to church instead of jack off to futanari catgirls"

I don't know, it has chunks of irony in a very sincere ice cream. It is just absurd, but not "lol, this is so stupid". It kind of makes it more lighthearted even if the core is pretty bleak, like the couple of wholesome moments in classic Simpsons: they love each other, but their lives are trash and they are very flawed.

Considering everything else he draws I assume the message here is "My mom means well but she has to understand that if I can't be a gay furry I will literally kill myself". Which I guess is better than most of these kinds of stories where the parent is just an evil republican you're supposed to hate.

The end date for millennials is kinda dubious. I’ve heard between 1994 and 1998. Some people have even come up with the term “zillennial” for this group. I fall into the millennial group but most of my friends fall into that age range, so I just sorta lump everyone born from like 1992-1998 into its own group.

In a sense I suppose the point stands, as they're the Wiki generation rather than first hand participants. They didn't live through it, they'll never know the nuances or the cultural milieu of the times, all they have is reading biased, edited recollections from one source. You could make the same comment about... oh I don't know, Knowyourmeme and Longcat, Ceiling Cat, ORly Owl, Gigapuddi, Mudkips, etc etc.

I can see how you would feel that, I do feel some sense of accomplishment when I do something on a video-game, but is nothing in comparison to doing something that is an actual craft. Also, you should see a head doctor, I think you might been molested at some point and don't realize.

Crying after beating a game is a very numale thing in general and not exclusive to autists. When you're a kid it's acceptable because you probably haven't faced that kind of adversity in life much yet, but as an adult you just look like a sheltered manchild who never grew up.

I once knew a kid. We were friends back when we were, like 5 or something. Actually our mothers were friends, we just had to put up with each other. We dared each other to show our dicks to each other. Even dared with money to touch em.

I met him again in high school, though he didn't recognize me. But one thing I noticed was how good he was drawing DBZ characters. Thought he was trying to be an artist. But then I saw that was all he drew. Big, hyper-muscular men. Hyper muscled wolves. Hyper muscled anime guys. Hyper muscled lion kong characters. I still wonder if I had a hand in that.

Why am I bringing this up? Cause I feelie like the guy in the hoodie. I wish I didn't know these things.

McDonald's no longer allows this with certain toys, especially Pokemon, because they got tired of scalper israelites buying all the stock of toys intended for children. So now you have to buy the whole-ass happy meal, which has largely stopped that.

Also if you're an adult buying for yourself we will lie and tell you we don't have what specific one you want, but we'll actually look (well, some of us will) if a kid's getting whatever the toy is.

People started editing embarrassing Reddit anime memes with pictures of breaking bad characters. Normally they would keep the text the same, but changing it to “kid named finger” manages to completely mangle the already unfunny joke, in an ironic way. And now it’s kind of spread to Breaking Bad fans just saying “kid named finger” constantly.

      >shortly realize how fricking weird this was
      >also realize I was needlessly adding another car on the street on halloween
Thankfully I was still young and acknowledge it was a mistake, but I still feel like I was a bad stranger from a PSA.
Also before anyone asks, I lived out in the country and don't get trick or treaters so I couldn't just stay home and hand out candy.

If it was in broad daylight then sure. But an adult male driving around at night looking for kids isn't really okay.

The pedo obsession is moronic and so are you. If you're worried about just driving down the street on a nostalgia trip and being overcome by the sudden urge to jump out and grab a child to start molesting then that's the issue here, not some boring old dude reminiscing about his childhood

      Awkward.

That arc about the passion(pain) of creation and the exploration of the rough parts of contemporary internet interaction among the youth got too emotional, I felt what the president was saying. Even tho I haven't created anything. The only thing I felt inspired of making was a youtube channel with Touhou inspired music, but after everybody lost their minds during the pandemic it made me realize it might just become Kalem's metaphorical online black hole that sucks children's metaphorical cum(time).
Man, I am starting to feel I really have brain damage.

This sums up my opinion on RPing pretty well. I keep thinking it might be fun, but finding a decent partner would be damn near impossible. I've had a few people send me requests, but they act like they don't understand my characters or interests at all. The whole thing feels one-sided, like they don't even consider what I would get out of it.

More like, getting estranged from the people around you and from your community. Having a less cohesive societal fabric in general. The boy would feel closer to his family if they weren't so artificially divided by the different media they consume ("tastes"). And, you know, liking football is for idiots.

Feeling alienation, or being alienated, is like being an alien on a world other than your own. Even though you might have friends and family you feel completely isolated and as if you don't understand how they feel or they don't understand how you feel. You might be close, but you feel very far apart.

Well, that too. Look, the comic-inside-the-comic doesn't show actual porn, but it is explicitly said it is pornographic. The parts shown just state the fact that even if it is obsessed with horniness, his art still holds some of his internal world.

I mean, I draw porn and I didn't go insane, it feels like it's only this guys ever talks about. If you don't like doing porn just don't do porn, honestly, I get way more SFW commissions for whatever reason, I even wished I get more porn commissions because I kinda default to sexy pin up without noticing and I think all the weirdo fetishes are really interesting window to peoples physique.

If I consider everything we seen here I think the dude just feels guilty or got tricked in to feeling guilty for doing porn and can't shut up about it. Someone should just tell him no one gives a frick, really, people who do are hypocrite or the sort of puritan that thinks a little girl in a bikini is somehow erotic, aka botherline insane.

I kinda wonder what was the worse he even did because it feels like he never did that weird of a thing to justify that sort of wuss behavior.

This guy seems quite neurotic and is willing to draw disgusting furry porn.
Disgusting furry porn commissioners probably saw the blood in the water and went all in.

How old is this guy anyway? He is the first 85 year old gay furry porn artist or what? Because the way he talks is like he is in his deathbed. He can still make his shit, heck it could even be a bout porn or whatever if he does things right, I'm kinda with the deerthingy. He should just do what he wants and stop b***hing about "that time I did porn", at least he is somewhat selfware about that, but not enough it seems.

And the next homestuck already happened, is called undertale. And hussie? Can't say about the butthole but he is a huge pedo and racist, but the cool kind.

            >hussie
Last I heard from him he said he was clowngender but maybe I'm not on the right layer of irony to appreciate that as either a joke or genuine belief.

              Anonymous

For what I seen is kinda both. Hussie is mocking how modern leftwing has no idea about what they are talking about, creating several genders to talk about french relativism about the idea of gender roles, so instead of solving the problem they make it way worse creating even more divide, confusing and segregation, hence the clowns.

His idea of clowngender is 10 times easier to follow and kinda makes and actually makes some sense with the original idea behind gender theory, so the main character that came up with got cancelled over it and called problematic and homophobic and creates a extreme moviment that works more like a cult of insane people based on things they barely understand. It's a pretty dry commentary over modern internet culture but doesn't take itself seriously, you can tell hussie used to be a center left dude who got really turned off by all the morons of the extreme left that came from tumblr in the 2010's. At least I think is that.

lmao, I live of drawing furry smut for suspiciously wealthy furs, in fact I'm working in a commission right now that includes fat, old, dragon, anal prolapse tags. I'm more surprised of people willing to pay hundreds for this than me from drawing it, in fact somethimes I feel like I'm stealing their money kek

The gay furry thing who wants to subsist solely on cum is fine, but idolizing Homestuck as something important that's where I draw the line, frick this homosexual.

I’m pretty sure that’s part of the joke considering how big of a joke Homestuck has been for a while.

Yeah, the comic begins with him being annoyed that people keep asking him about the porn he used to draw. He's wonders why they won't let him move on and says that he'd do anything just to make everyone forget.

Cut to 40 years later, where he's now the president and is announcing that cancer will be eradicated by the end of the week. When he breaks for questions, the bug lady from the press immediately asks about old chatlogs saying he used to draw "cartoon erotica." The rest of the comic plays out from there.

I was trying to be nice, but besides having little to no money, I also have absolutely no interest on bikes, I'm not going to spend 750 bucks on a vehicle that honestly kinda scares the hell out of me, when I have to save my money for other things.

                >I don't see myself staying alive with one.
Who doesn't toy with the thought of suicide sometimes? Or, like, most of the time? Okay, maybe some people don't – like the happy scientist girl named Marie, or Jean-Marc, the superstar whom everyone loves. But you -- when the going gets rough, it's nice to think about your little trap door out of here. Do it. Put your finger on the eject button, see how alive it makes you feel -- the freedom of finality. Think of how much they'll *miss* you.

Looks like you thought about how much they'll *miss* you and the freedom of finality for too long, and now you've decided to actually have a nice day. The train leaves the station every evening, 21:00. Make sure you have a bike and witnesses. That's how macho anons do it.
I used to have the same doubts as you until I finally got on a bike

Not that anon, but I used to consider getting a bike for those reasons until I learned exactly how many weather conditions you can't ride your bike safely. It's not practical and is a leisure hobby thing because when it rains you gotta drive the ol' shitbox anyway.

I ride my bike in the rain all the time, as long as you have gear that will still be comfortable its not an issue unless you're riding through a hurricane
