I gotta be honest anon, I never understood the hype when it was out and I still don't now. It's not a bad movie by any means, but Edgar Wright has directed far - far ...... far better movies. Many of the side characters gave bad performances or were really forgettable. Baby Driver is solidly okay. A few of my friends that loved Baby Driver were really into cars. Is that part of the reason why you like it, anon? I'm curious
This movie was so fucking gay and bad I was actually angry after watching it, one of the few movies that I felt genuinely wasted my time and was terrible. It was dogshit.
ah I see.
imo I always looked up to Baby Driver and wanted to be like him, how he is able to just listen to music and do his own thing but at the same time he is extremely skilled and smooth in everything he does, but he also has a dark soft side.
tbh after watching this movie i really started to try and act like him more but I think people just don't really get it. Guess I was born in the wrong generation.
It's not a generational thing, it's a you thing. You identify with the movie because of who you are and so you like it. Nothing wrong with that. Enjoy the shit you enjoy anon
It wants to be this cool collection of things so bad, but it doesnt come together or make sense. How do you waste jon hamm? How do you make jamie foxx corny? How do you give kevin spacey nothing to do?
Same. Everyones sort of dorky in the movie, honestly.
Drive handled differently would have turned out like baby driver. Gosling even plays the protag like a steve mcqueen wannabe. But the whole thing becomes pulp with the music and violence. Gosling is almost too cool for the mood to sour.
What sucks about baby driver is baby isnt cool. Everyone talks about him but hes pretty bland and all the exposition surrounding him is hokey as hell. The whole thing feels hammy. You're embarrassed watching because everyones so self serious.
Baby isn’t supposed to be cool and the film is better for it. The audience can relate to this kid who isn’t a hardened criminal like the rest of the characters. He keeps it grounded.
Excellent film. I just wish it had more musical sequences. It started off very well in that regard but then kinda lost steam towards the middle and end.
>Why was it forgotten?
The best part about this movie was the entire "Edited to the beat" thing. The worst part about this movie is that, that type of editing makes it closer to being a music video than a movie.
I love tf out of this movie. I was 15 when I watched it on the big screen and it blew my mind. I was a mcufag before that and this film really made me appreciate the technical expertise (cinematography, editing and sound design) that goes into filmmaking.
Having said all this, I can still understand why some people might hate it.
Definitely kino.
>ansel elgort
What the fuck is wrong with millenial white parents
Like Jon Hamm is any better.
meh
>Why was it forgotten?
Because the movie was garbage.

Not that anon, but I spent my youth watching motorsports and music clip shows, this movie is both.
This movie was so fucking gay and bad I was actually angry after watching it, one of the few movies that I felt genuinely wasted my time and was terrible. It was dogshit.
what movies do you like anon?
28 Days Later, Goodfellas, Parasite, Oldboy, Total Recall, Predator, The Running Man, Blue Velvet
ah I see.

>smooth in everything he does
Really I remember him being a bit awkward when he wasn't in his element
Been ages since I watched it tho
>born to late to copy the goose's personality in drive
sad
You should be out of school for the summer soon.
Are you excited?
Yeah bro totally those zoom zooms are all about Blue Velvet and Total Recall.
>it insists upon itself
It really does.
It wants to be this cool collection of things so bad, but it doesnt come together or make sense. How do you waste jon hamm? How do you make jamie foxx corny? How do you give kevin spacey nothing to do?
The whole thing is tone deaf.
the cringiest movie i've ever watched

It’s not even remotely forgotten it’s a pretty popular movie
