It can take a decade before a new codec is mature enough and has enough hardware support for people to switch. But technology does advance and h264 won't be the go-to forever.

Watching Sally's life and career fall apart is arguably better than anything Barry has going on this season. It's weird, that I watch this show hoping that everyone on it fails and meets horrible ends. Barry, Sally, Gene, everyone. I still enjoy it, though.

This season has given us 5 minutes of Barry per episode of Barry, slightly more counting the motorcycle chase.
I don't get why Sally is even a character anymore aside from showing that abuse perpetuates abuse. Neat as a mirror to Barry but not worth spending time on considering we only have thirty fricking minutes per episode.

Not really because Barry hasn't killed anybody who was out to get him and Jim immediately took Fuches to the cops first and was inadvertently clued in to Gene, who gave him the final confirmation that Barry was really the guy, so it's not the same thing. I think Barry will meet Jim and kind of give up and give Jim the opportunity to kill him only for Albert to save Barry by killing Jim.

maybe jim starts stalking barry to gather information, then sally asks barry to kill the banshee lady. Jim either uses that to blackmail a confession out of barry before killing him, or gives him to the cops
If this show was an hour long, we'd end up with a bunch of Breaking Bad-esque scenes to with the minutiae of Barry's work or Sally's writing room antics or Fuches' manipulative stories being stretched out to minutes and minutes to the point where it becomes tiring, and we'd get this shit every episode.
The episode length is fine. I remember years ago Metalocalypse switched from 11 minute episodes to 22 minute episodes and the entire pacing of the show was thrown off; there was way too much empty air.

That’s the whole point, the doctor was a deeply good person who couldn’t bring himself to do murder even against someone who completely deserved it, the antithesis of Barry whose soul was so eroded that he could kill innocent people without even thinking about it. That’s the irony of the suicide

Being a parent really does fulfill people in a certain way for some people that nothing else. Once he lost that he had revenge but it ended up being hollow. He had the dying guy in the car and realized it didnt make him feel any better. Its way more realistic than the chase last episode.
To further the irony even more, Barry didn't even kill Ryan, the Chechens did. Moreover, he didn't even cause his death; if he hadn't taken the job, the Chechens would have found someone else to do it.

I loved the first two seasons. Comedy was amazing, the acting was great and the sad moments were fricking neat. But this season feels so fricking weird, its like they tried to do some experimental stuff and change a lot of shit, looks like there is no endgoal for Barry or any of the other characters this season, no progression at all

Albert is going to protect Barry.
