>Get rid of fun and cool Robin who is popular with all the female readers >Bring back boring irrelevant Robin and make him gay for quick gay points
Why are they being stupid on purpose?
This is from a fake reality thing, but the reality of comics does mean that eventually the two will date again, even if they'll break up again in an endless loop.
Fitzmartin is pulling an Aaron.
God that's pathetic.
Does Fitzmartin have social media? If so, is it particularly left leaning? If not, Fitzmartin might have been mandated to implement bi Tim and not by his own decision
Who the frick is Bernard?
A side character from Tim's solo back in 2004 that was in like 5 issues. He was dusted off and got reused in Tim's gay awakening story, now they're boyfriends.
>Did they make Tim gay?
He's "exploring", so yes.
>Or is this just an edit?
No, I believe this book is out tomorrow. Most likely this is a passive aggressive way to get back at people hoping Tim and steph will hook up again.
>He's "exploring", so yes.
He's supposed to be bisexual, not fully gay. Probably because there's just no feasible way to make it seem as though he's never been into women at all.
Really, I don't here much of tim but it goes back to the original series which never really set them up. I don't see a huge tim/steph fanbase except on Cinemaphile.
>but it goes back to the original series which never really set them up
They were dating by issue 50, and the letter pages before then were full of people wanting to see more of her and Tim hook up because his GF before was a nag. And this was when robin was a big seller.
Idk, if anything i see more people liking them on sites like reddit than on Cinemaphile, and anecdotally.
It does have more fanfics than steph's other pairings too.
I personally prefer timkon but its not hard to see.
Hence probably. You'd have a better point if there were a significant body of work to draw from, but there really isn't. It's also sort of missing the point to complain about the pride story. Of course that appearance would just be her being supportive; that's what those issues are for. If anything, it was surprising that she basically took it over and finally got to do a bit of hashing things out with Tim instead of Tim getting to go on a lunch date with his boyfriend, who got like one line.
Maybe? But even those little moments just feel like her getting stephanie out of the way for what she's intrested in.
And in general Meghan just writes everyone really weirdly. The dialogue is just so..off.
they can't write about love or children which is why they age them up. Most of these writers are married with kids so I'm not sure why they're so bad at it.
I wonder which he'd prefer on balance. >dating where you work, which he knows is endless drama >but they're relatively low drama as supercouples go >dating a civilian, which is sometimes dangerous for them >but it's a wacky dude who might be useful for narrative cover if he ever finds out
He's been pretty literal paint outside of the UL story. He's had, what, a handful of panels where he gets to say something since then?
But there is some potential material to be mined if he's still a superhero qanon. >tim, we need your boyfriend to get on his blog and plant a narrative that you were abducted by time traveling communists >he's way ahead of you, bruce
Even in that UL story he's pretty nothing. He is just a tool to show "tim likes boys".
Maybe, but DC's also too chicken to do something halfway that cool, because it could be seen as controversial.

True, but they at least had to establish a few points for him to make sense now. After that he's done nothing.
There will probably be stuff in Tim's solo, not that anyone will know, because nobody's going to look at that garbage art.

Dunno how much i agree.
I feel that the solo will focus even less on him, because he's just a tool to say that about tim, most i can expect is the relationship being totally perfect and drama free to use as ammunation for it being good. And then a following writer just pairing tim with a new guy/back with spoiler.
Ill check it out, i actually like the art, but i loathe meghan's writing.

I'm not expecting a lot, just that solos tend to be the place where characters periodically check in with their love interests after punching a bad guy. Ironically, her writing would likely be significantly improved if she spent less time pushing Bernard and focused on mysteries. Hell, she could even have him chip in with clues and it would be an improvement. Imagine if Batbooks still had mysteries and detective work.

Sure, but i think lately a lot of writers just dont know how to write good love intrests be them male or female.
I thought the mystery was a bit lackluster, but yeah that'd be a good focus.

Steph managed the rare feat of a character being well liked by people who ship things she directly interferes with, and she did it before her alternative ship with Cass was a significant factor. Meg probably quite likes her.

A Tim/Steph/Cass book, relationships or not, would've sold better than the Batgirls book awkwardly trying to please Babs and Steph/Cass fans and failing. The middle bat kids are all liked by a similar set of fans
Didn't DC have Tim and Jon Kent come out within a couple weeks of each other? I have no idea who those guys are trying to please or what the hell they are thinking.

They won't, especially with the Supersons cartoon happening, the omnibus and the trades rereleasing, and King making a story with kid Jon.
they really should have just made Conner gay along with Tim. Its a fangirl's dream come true and secondaries think Conner is gay anyways
Jon being gay is just extra insult to injury for people who just wanted Jon to remain a kid
The thing with that is that the people who made Jon bi didn't know they were going to make Tim bi and vice versa. Those actions were independent of each other and well we have one bi Superboy now so they can make the other one bi.
But yeah it's stupid and Editors at DC are idiots. Jon should have remained a kid and Kon should have been the one that got with Tim, they have the chemistry and history and the fanbase.
>Supposedly their respective editorials didn't even know about the other making their character bi
And yet I bet they were congratulating themselves for being so forward thinking and unique, right up until the moment they found out.
>Tim/Steph is still more popular than the absolute dry desert that is Tim/Bernard
I'm not a shipper of either, but Tim/Steph just has way more material. Tim/Bernard is boring as frick. Feels like he's just there so Tim can figure out he likes dudes before they set him up with someone else
Well naturally. I doubt they'll put him with anyone else, seems like meghans's pet pairing.
TimJason has the electric chemistry of a rubber mat. TimBernard forever!

>And yeah asking for your step mom is the way to show you're attracted to someone
To be fair, Robin #126 came out 18 years ago. Tim/Bernard probably wasn't even an idea
>Doesn’t this kinda kill the bi part and imply Tim is only attracted to men?
No it just implies he's not interested in Stephanie romantically and would rather date Bernard
It just means that right now he's committed to seeing where things go with Bernard
I don't think he saying he's never been attracted to or in love with Steph, just that at this point in his life he isn't interested in getting back together with her
He's fun in the first Batman Unlimited movie. I've yet to watch the next two movies and web series but he's their tech guy and has the kid bro vibe to Nightwing.
>What does Tim add
Nothing, he's a legacy character with zero impact on the mythos, and that's why he struggles for revelancy under this decade. He takes more than he gives.
>damian
Yes. That doesn't make Tim less irrevelant. Damian has no purpose outside being Dick's Robin, but being son of the titular character and tied to Ra and Talia storyline is a role only him can fill in. As cheap as his archetype is, he is more impactful to the mythos than Tim.
Don't let Tim's poor choice in boyfriends distract you from the fact that in 1997 The Undertaker threw Mankind off of Hell in a Cell and he fell 16 feet into the announcer's table
Its really fricked up, this is the most feminine shit I've seen Jon do, and that's with him fricking some Asian homie. The impotent rage clinched fists, "I don't need your protection" like some strong womyn. Shit's legitimately sad.
Yes, it would be much more in character for Jon Kent to just smash Batman to a pulp for questioning his judgement in a story all about him questioning his own judgement.
You sure don't look like you're making shit up to scream and cry about at all. Once again, there is more than enough to complain about in that book without making yourself look stupid in the process.
A dubious observation. >no teenage boy has ever felt but not violently acted on anger in the face of a male authority figure telling him he has bad judgement on an emotional subject
Holy shit imagine seething about shipping , specially when you are a comic writer for the big 2. Bernard it's shit and unless he's fixed his relationship will feel fake , he's the Carlie Cooper of Tim
arent these supposed to be paradise worlds that people dont want to leave? why are they so shit then? like here and how superman the whole universe was under darkseids rule while he hid on earth and was just happy he got to raise jon
The frick? These superhero worlds are ever chaotic hellscapes . Even far into the future, like Legion of Superheroes time, shit is still fricked. People don't read these books for paradise, they read them for the adventure and confrontation and insanity of it all.
>check back into comics >everyone is gay now
This is funny. This happened to Manga because the sheer number of Chinese readers were either massive china homos or loser Chinese girls/ women. I wonder if the same is true of modern comics
If comics were smart, they'd just make a section of the comics BL and get a fujo audience. Then they'd have BL merch. Which would sell like fricking hotcakes. This is just progressive bullshit. That won't mean anything in a year.
Though, if you're trying to say they should just make some comics that are specifically about their gay characters, I agree. They're never going to impress fujos if they never let the gay characters out of the storage cupboard. The Tim solo could have been an attempt, but they mortally wounded it before it began by putting a terrible artist on it.
they can't write about love or children which is why they age them up. Most of these writers are married with kids so I'm not sure why they're so bad at it.
I can see two issues:
Some writers are of the opinion that dramatic stories cannot involve characters in a relationship doing something that isn't about their relationship unless that shit was set up from the start and they're more like a package deal.
Also, if writers think will-they won't-they is the main appeal, they'll never let characters stay together.
If comics were smart, they'd just make a section of the comics BL and get a fujo audience. Then they'd have BL merch. Which would sell like fricking hotcakes. This is just progressive bullshit. That won't mean anything in a year.
Except anon is full of shit and mainstream manga is filled with examples that pander directly to fujoshi who are not Chinese. There are top-selling shounen series that are mostly read by women, and it's not because they're all imagining themselves as Naruto's wife.
I was wondering when DC would get over this SJW bullshit and realize that gays and social media activists don't buy their product. Maybe now they can start reclaiming some of that burned glory.
Why is DC letting Batman have homophobic inclination?
>Why is DC letting Batman have homophobic inclination?
i dont mind heroes having a flaw or two. the same way some people say it's not realistic for all heroes to be white or straight, it wouldnt be realistic if some werent homophobic or racist
Sadly she won't keep it for long, this is a fake evil cassie, the real cassie is looking for the boys in the real world and is still wearing that ugly brown jacket
There are like zero cool staright white men left in comics. either a character got competely emasculated and character assassinated or is gay now.
I cant think of a single straight white guy who is the man of the relationship. Only the same lefty white men bashing cuck shit, again and again
this is more like anti-gay >Robin, a powerful telepath from the alternative universe tried to change your sexuality to weaken us >thankfully my bat-repeller managed to catch the waves >they were strong enough to make you feel confused >Now, you have this girl before you, whom you have to breed >for the sake of the bat-family
>TIM PLEASE
>YOU HAVE TO BREED WITH STEPHANIE
>THE DRAKE BLOODLINE
>CASS WILL GET TO HER IF YOU DON'T
>STOP LOOKING AT KON'S ASS
>FULL TEEN MILKERS AND ASS IS ALL YOU NEED

COULDN'T AT LEAST BE GAY WITH THAT FRICKING PUNK ASS CONNER AND COMPLETLEY STOP THE KRYPTONIAN LINE! NOW HE GOING TO FRICK BOTH CASSANDRA!!!!!
He has Terry kinda and Helena though.
>PLEASE TIM, THE BATMAN LEGACY NEEDS YOU
Kek imagine believing this ever. When are they killing Tim off? I haven't cared about his character in years.
Never. They are killing damian
Tim is back as Robin
>Get rid of fun and cool Robin who is popular with all the female readers
>Bring back boring irrelevant Robin and make him gay for quick gay points
Why are they being stupid on purpose?
Why are you racist?
Look, Tim, he's being fair to you. He's giving you a chance. It's more than he gave Dick before starting to bone Barbara.
>Fine. I'll frick them myself.
This is as cringe as when fujos do this kind of shit.
This is from a fake reality thing, but the reality of comics does mean that eventually the two will date again, even if they'll break up again in an endless loop.
Who the frick is Bernard? Did they make Tim gay? Or is this just an edit?
Oh yeah they made him gay for a random supporting cast member he had in an unpopular era.
Same writer that is writing this, probably why it was even brought up.
Fitzmartin is pulling an Aaron.
God that's pathetic.
Oh for sure, but this is a bit more particularly meta.
Does Fitzmartin have social media? If so, is it particularly left leaning? If not, Fitzmartin might have been mandated to implement bi Tim and not by his own decision

Her decision, and it was totally her fan girl fantasy to do it. It also got her a new book out of it.
Who the frick is Bernard?

False flag post
A lot of people, a lot of more casual fans too. And it does have 30 years.

A lot of them are pretty young nowadays.
you can't just be close friends with a guy anymore
if you are, then that means you're gay for each other
Batman only supports homosexual relationship for him and Joker.
Why does Batsy feel so out of place? He won't tell a bi kid his male partner is a phase like a trad dad would.
Because that's not Bruce, its a "fake" version of him in a fake reality.
Bruce really wouldnt give a shit, hell he'd probably be happy Tim isnt with Stephanie.
I wonder which he'd prefer on balance.
>dating where you work, which he knows is endless drama
>but they're relatively low drama as supercouples go

I am referring to his general antagonism towards steph for a while, but that's more-or-less gone now.
Is he a wackie dude?
So far berndard's just been dry paint.
He's been pretty literal paint outside of the UL story. He's had, what, a handful of panels where he gets to say something since then?

they're in a dream nostalgia world
Bruce represents whiny Timsteph fans

Which is petty as frick, but on par for modern comic writers.
It's hilarious. I predict redditchuds will lose their collective shit and harass the poor woman on twitter like the children they are.

it's pretty funny honestly
Lets be honest, it's on par with older comic book writers too. At least they didn't kill steph just to be petty.
Steph managed the rare feat of a character being well liked by people who ship things she directly interferes with, and she did it before her alternative ship with Cass was a significant factor. Meg probably quite likes her.

Sorry haven't you hear Steph a cuckqueen
she wants Cassie to do a threesome with rose Wilson and Conner while see watches

A Tim/Steph/Cass book, relationships or not, would've sold better than the Batgirls book awkwardly trying to please Babs and Steph/Cass fans and failing. The middle bat kids are all liked by a similar set of fans
>Timbernard
Cringe.
Its actually kinda wholesome how much tumblr/twitter fangirls embrace a Tim/Steph/Cass/Kon polycule.
They have all interacted so it makes enough sense.
And they have chemistry unlike bland as wood bernard.
Even the fangirls who want gay Tim want Tim to be with Kon and not some random minor character like Bernard.
Either go all in or do nothing.
Didn't DC have Tim and Jon Kent come out within a couple weeks of each other? I have no idea who those guys are trying to please or what the hell they are thinking.

We all know Tim belongs with Jubilee.
That's fricking hilarious, can't wait to see a certain subset of fans get angry about it even though Batman being a shitty dad is well established
So not only did they make Superboy and Robin gay, but they also didn't ship them?
Who is this even supposed to appeal to?
Supposedly their respective editorials didn't even know about the other making their character bi, it was just a coincidence.
>Supposedly their respective editorials didn't even know about the other making their character bi
And yet I bet they were congratulating themselves for being so forward thinking and unique, right up until the moment they found out.
Isn’t the whole point of “bi” Tim that he is attracted to men and women?
Doesn’t this kinda kill the bi part and imply Tim is only attracted to men?
Its more so the writer using this to say that the people that like him with steph back are wrong. Which is pretty dumb.
After kon (and jason) its still the most popular fanship. Because no duh.
Thought the third was Tim and Ra's.
Tim Ra's is bit too, as is Tim Bart, i am more so saying that Tim/Steph is still more popular than the absolute dry desert that is Tim/Bernard.
>Tim/Steph is still more popular than the absolute dry desert that is Tim/Bernard

I don't think he saying he's never been attracted to or in love with Steph, just that at this point in his life he isn't interested in getting back together with her
True, but it is framed more as a meta thing, which is all meghan seems to do frankly.
So tim's ideal batman is homophobic?
He my ideal Batman
I hate Tim. Such a homosexual robin. Do we need more than dick, Jason, and Damien? What does Tim add to the family dynamic that these 3 don’t?
He used to be especially back in Young Justice long ago very dedicated to becoming Batman sometime down the line.
Damian is garbage and irrelevant
Even his comic was cancelled
>damian

>Immediately seethes about Damian
Damian really triggers some gays
You're a horrible boring gay Tim. Accept it.
don't let Tim being bi distract you from the fact that he chose to date somebody named Bernard
Don't let Tim's poor choice in boyfriends distract you from the fact that in 1997 The Undertaker threw Mankind off of Hell in a Cell and he fell 16 feet into the announcer's table
Get it right, it was '98
Could've been worse. Could've been Sebastian.
Sebastian at least has some workable diminutives. You can't do anything good with Bernard, and he doesn't even like nicknames.
>You can't do anything good with Bernard
Berd
>You can't do anything good with Bernard
Bernie
Sebastian is a fine name
Bernard sounds like a legit 60 y/o
Why is DC letting Batman have homophobic inclination?
It's the correct stance.
>They've turned Tim and Jon into b***hes

listen, chieftain. Don't know what you got going on over here, but let it go. I was just making an observation.
A dubious observation.
>no teenage boy has ever felt but not violently acted on anger in the face of a male authority figure telling him he has bad judgement on an emotional subject
I mean they are gay now. What were you expecting. The same thing happened to ice man.
Batman is a conservative.
He's a lib that give people free health care.
Green Arrow is the lib version of Batman.
He's just trying to stir his kid and his godson towards the right path.
Did they reveal his boyfriend is evil and manipulating him and dying his hair with pink kryptonite to manipulate him yet?
Holy shit imagine seething about shipping , specially when you are a comic writer for the big 2. Bernard it's shit and unless he's fixed his relationship will feel fake , he's the Carlie Cooper of Tim
arent these supposed to be paradise worlds that people dont want to leave? why are they so shit then? like here and how superman the whole universe was under darkseids rule while he hid on earth and was just happy he got to raise jon
Tim's ideal world is batman being homophobic
I think the point is that they're not really paradise?
Maybe part of paradise is someone being brutally honest with you instead of just saying what you think you want to hear.
I don't think fatalism about a ship that spent most of its history being officially inactive qualifies as brutal honesty.
The frick? These superhero worlds are ever chaotic hellscapes . Even far into the future, like Legion of Superheroes time, shit is still fricked. People don't read these books for paradise, they read them for the adventure and confrontation and insanity of it all.
There is no such thing as a bi for men, you either like dick or you don't
You can like dick and pussy though.
Those are not logically connected statements.
>check back into comics
>everyone is gay now
This is funny.
His art isn’t as bad I expected.
No one asked about your fanfic.
Except anon is full of shit and mainstream manga is filled with examples that pander directly to fujoshi who are not Chinese. There are top-selling shounen series that are mostly read by women, and it's not because they're all imagining themselves as Naruto's wife.
am i supposed to think batman is being stupid? because he's completely right
It's like they just print deviantart edits.
These characters should be in the public domain.
I was wondering when DC would get over this SJW bullshit and realize that gays and social media activists don't buy their product. Maybe now they can start reclaiming some of that burned glory.
>Bruce I want you to meet my new boyfriend
Jon is for Damian.
who drew this? its horrible
>Why is DC letting Batman have homophobic inclination?
i dont mind heroes having a flaw or two. the same way some people say it's not realistic for all heroes to be white or straight, it wouldnt be realistic if some werent homophobic or racist
Aw shit when did Cassie get her old YJ look back? Frick all this other gay shit, it's small potatoes.
Sadly she won't keep it for long, this is a fake evil cassie, the real cassie is looking for the boys in the real world and is still wearing that ugly brown jacket
is that tim as batman?
Bruce is such a piece of shit.
No. Bruce is really cool.
You are a beta
It seems like Connor is in favor of this reality.
There are like zero cool staright white men left in comics. either a character got competely emasculated and character assassinated or is gay now.
I cant think of a single straight white guy who is the man of the relationship. Only the same lefty white men bashing cuck shit, again and again
>Hawkman
>Batman
>Guy
>Hal
>Aquaman
That's just in the main JLA.
>cool men
>Aquaman and Hawkman
anon, please
meant for
>Hawkman isn't cool
That's all I needed to know.
You have Nightwing
>Batman is becoming less about Batman and more about the moronic social lives of his sidekicks
There are more stories only about Bruce than his sidekick. This month DC made 3 new pure Bruce Wayne Batman books.
Batman is also racist
Where the frick is the Jean "You're gay lol" Grey edit?
this is more like anti-gay
>Robin, a powerful telepath from the alternative universe tried to change your sexuality to weaken us
>thankfully my bat-repeller managed to catch the waves
>they were strong enough to make you feel confused
>Now, you have this girl before you, whom you have to breed
>for the sake of the bat-family
My reaction when I heard they made Tim Bi.
