That's no way to compare. If you say pitt charges 20 million tell us what cruise charges not his networth which only tells us about his spending habits and not his salary. Also Pitt has appeared in almost five movies in the last two years. Cruise has only done topgun.

Cruise stars in action blockbusters, too gun made over a billion so not only does he get a large upfront salary, he gets a percentage of the huge box office profits as well

Pitt has always been more of an indy-leaning actor.

Because he was never a box office draw. His biggest movie is world war z which made less than the average cruise kino. Even his most iconic role fight club flopped at the box office made no money. Brad pitt is famous for being handsome. Pretty impressive how just being 10/10 can get you god status.

  6. 10 months ago

I have to imagine Cruise gets a % of the box office because he is so heavily involved in producing his own movies. Pitt just signs onto movies as an actor.

All of his movies were objectively liked, Cinemaphile contrarianism notwithstanding

Tarantino movies and Fight Club are NOT universally liked. They have an audience of utter, utter gays who like those movies because it makes their smoothbrains tickle. The most egregiois gays on TV are the ones who lile Tarantino's "muh pop culture obsession because I was a latchkey kid raised by my tv lemme sneak in a foot shot."
And Fight Club is pretentious 90s "my cush office job pays too much I must destroy society instead of just pursuing healthy creative hobbies or starting my own business" for gen-x and late boomers.

      Tom Cruise.
      Taps
      Risky Business
Top Gun ( plus part Deuce)
Interview with the vampire (also starring Pitt)
      Magnolia
      Minority Report
      Collateral
      Tropic Thunder
      Oblivion
      Edge of Tomorrow
      Mission Impossible films.
Maybe Pitt has some more interesting projects, but both Pitt and Cruise have dome duds, and both have some true Kino.

That just makes him the money man that gets a complimentary credit at the end of the movie his company bankrolls.
It's not that unique of a title in hollywood ,even Tim Robbins ,Sean Penn or Clooney has producer credit in shit they were in.

The production company is Plan B Entertainment.
Only mostly the more recent films seem to have lost money.
            https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plan_B_Entertainment
The TV projects were sold to networks or streaming services like Amazon, so were presumably somewhat profitable.

Everything about Tom Cruise makes sense the moment you realize he's an autistic guy from the 80s with an obsessive interest in being the kind of man an autistic guy from the 80s thinks is cool.
He learned acting to perfect his charisma and social skills, and joined scientology because it's it's basically an ultra high end life skills class where people sit in rooms and practice eye contact etc with each other for hours.
That's why he doesn't believe in psychology either, because he's learned firsthand that diagnoses like autism can be overcome with training.
Source: I have autism and can relate a lot to him
