In the old comics the pers would sleep in their beds. New explanation might be that Mike's parents knew Daisy was lusting after him so they'd better get him a bed big enough for her lard ass to fit on
I was 6 feet tall in 9th grade (age 14). It was a used queen size bed in my room but it was a good shape and I still had room for my desk, chair, dresser, night stand, etc. Feels good to come from a white privileged home in a rural county, let me tell ya.
>Hey remember when I would never talk to you and it made you sad? >lol!
Sandy is quite stupid. This is in-character ("You've...grown!") so congrats for that I guess.
Out of context, this sounds more like a genuine couple's talk than usual. Inside context, Sandy's either being insensitive or coaxing Mike to call her less often.
I think she just feels guilty but is being awkward about expressing it
I think Sandy is slowly trying to push Mike away.
It's clear that there is a rift between them that neither wants to admit. And both would honestly be better off without the other. However, Sandy wants to avoid the guilt of being the one to end things and doesn't want to break Mike's heart - again.
Taeshi's plan is to raise Mike's value as a male so that Sandy will be knocked off her pedestal and desperately want him back whenever he finally dumps her. She wants Sandy broken and humiliated by the end of her relationship with Mike.
If this was a good comic that would make perfect sense. I wouldn't be surprised if we still seem poorly laid out version of that because Sandy = Goldie. Therefore, having Sandy be humiliated and knocked down a few pegs is a satisfying way for Taeshi to get back at Goldie after all these years.
>having Sandy be humiliated and knocked down a few pegs
sandy cheated on mike and fricked some other dude. he is a literal cuck. mike just breaking up with her is nothing in comparison no matter how "hot" he is for doing sports
I'm not going to imagine Sandy has any positive qualities until we're given a clear and coherent reason why she got back together with Mike. Taeshi is predictably vindictive which means Sandy is going to be the bad guy until proven otherwise. Given that Taeshi has randomly shit-talked Sandy in the discord chat, like she couldn't hold back her spite, the chances of a humanized Sandy seem pretty damn low. So I fully expect Mike's just going to be her second choice because suddenly Francis was out of the picture and Sandy got lonely or something just as selfish.
>It's clear that there is a rift between them that neither wants to admit.
This. These conversations are like I had with a friend who already moved away and did not really wanted to break our friendship, but she did not have the time and the interest to care about me.
This last period is so fricking cringe.
Taeshi's plan is to raise Mike's value as a male so that Sandy will be knocked off her pedestal and desperately want him back whenever he finally dumps her. She wants Sandy broken and humiliated by the end of her relationship with Mike.
I can see Mike bringing up Daisy in some capacity and it makes Sandy a bit jealous. Or Sandy getting jealous of Mike hanging out with other girls is a thing that happens later.
Expect that to be paired with the revelation that her earlier concern over Lucy's abuse was just to drive a wedge between her and Mike out of jealousy, damn the narrative consequences.
If it were revealed that Sandy was manipulating Mike and driving a wedge between him and Lucy. It would completely dissolute his relationship with Sandy.
It would also push Mike's attention towards other nicer girls, like Daisy, Sue, Stacy, etc.
Which would be nice, but also chip away even more of the notion that Lucy's past behavior was rightly condemned. Now Worst Cast would just be a victim of Sandy's jealousy. A better comic writer could instead have Lucy end up thankful that Sandy accidentally gave her the kick in the pants she needed but this is Taeshi we're talking about.
I wonder just how much of a powder keg it'll be when Sandy comes to visit Mike while Lucy is actually around now. Hell, go for a 3-way argument between Sandy, Lucy, and Daisy.
Lucy would pretend to not care but eventually her inward seething would become outward. She'd turn into a petty frick about it because, She still holds something for Mike and it's not a far stretch for her to see Sandy as the reason everything went wrong.
Because god forbid Lucy realize a good portion of it is her own fault as well.
Lucy would seethe because she's a transparent extension of Taeshi's ego and would thus absolutely hate the idea she got dropped so hard for another girl.
Nothing that interesting will happen because this is BCB.
why would lucy or sandy give a shit about one another?
Sandy would probably not give a damn about Lucy whereas Worst cat is spiteful is obsessive and bitter. Just seeing Mike and Sandy together would piss her off.
>her Ego
That's what makes her interesting though. Remove her smug ego and she's an empty character like Amaya. Unlike other characters, Sue actually gets challenged and almost learns from her mistakes.
You know Sue is just one of those girls who's going to suffer later in life. Either from Paulo leaving her a single mother, money troubles, or even something else unforeseen.

Suffering does not mean being sad forever, Sue is a tough girl she'd get over whatever life throws at her. She's not the kind of person to get dragged down by her feelings or circumstances like Lucy

It's her strong spirit that allows her to become headstrong soon after being crushed, making her the perfect target for a story about life repeatedly fricking her over.

You know Sue is just one of those girls who's going to suffer later in life. Either from Paulo leaving her a single mother, money troubles, or even something else unforeseen.
These pics give me the vibe of divorced parents who're still getting along for their kids sake.
You know the perfect guy for Sue is someone she could relax around and have a little fun. Such as someone responsible as her, so Sue wouldn't have to worry about being the responsible one.
Sue, because her only flaw is thinking she's smarter and better than everyone else, which is objectively true due to her being surrounded by idiots and psychos.
Sure, her self image as being "mature" means she ignores and misses out on certain things. But when everyone else is DRAMATIC and DEPRESSED, willfully ignoring and missing out seems like the smartest decision she could make.
Mike is supposed to be super smart, but that's book smart. Same with Daisy.
Paulo is probably the most adult out of the bunch, taking on responsibilities like getting a job and getting a car. Amaya has a job but she's forced to because her family owns the theatre or whatever.
Abbey is supposed to be witty and well-spoken but he acts very emotionally. He's not as smart as he thinks he is.
Neither is Sue, though. She thinks she's practically an adult with life experience but she's really just a privileged kid. Her world view doesn't align with reality (see: Paulo making her quit her bullshit in the museum, Stacy explaining that she's not as popular as she thinks she is).
What character is actually smart? Rachel seems to have it all figured out. She's in love with Paulo but is wise enough to realise it won't work out. She's planning ahead and she'll come out on top. The rest of their friend group is still too much in the high school spirit in my opinion, they don't care about a lot of stuff or they get overexcited about random shit. Matt is pretty smart I guess, but he's still dealing with shit so he's at a disadvantage.
>Who, in the comic, is as smart or smarter than Sue?
Who in the comic is as dumb as Sue, more like. She keeps throwing herself at Lucy for no coherent reason in the hope she can scale Worst Cat's walls. She keeps getting herself involved in the drama that she purports to hate, makes a fool of herself on the regular, and is a hypocrite in general. Tell me, exactly how is Sue a smart person and not just an arrogant dipshit?
Academically, I would say Sue is only average. She was nowhere to be seen during the SAT chapter.
As we seen in Critical Hit, Sue's coping mechanism seems to be "fake it 'till you make it" which was transparent enough during that chapter for Paulo to call her out on it. Sue likes to put on the pretense that she's smart but then every chapter where she has the focus almost always involves her biting off more than she can chew and making an idiot of herself in the process.
Honestly, that flawed aspect of her is the main reason I enjoy her character. She's generally pretty sharp but has an ironic lack of self-awareness that balances it out most of the time. I wouldn't particularly call her "smart".
She's smart enough to know when to fake it. She'll get pretty far in life if she keeps that up. It she sleeps with the right producers she might actually get her play off the ground!
The whole museum chapter doesn't have much to do with intelligence, though. It's all snobbery and Sue and Paulo seem to be the only people who figured that out. The difference between them is that Sue will go along with the flow whereas Paulo protests. His honesty is praise worthy but it won't help him promote to regional manager after 30 years of scrubbing tables, if you don't have any skills you've gotta kiss some ass to climb to the top.

>It's all snobbery and Sue and Paulo seem to be the only people who figured that out.
I think one of my favorite things about that chapter was Sue getting pissed off when Paulo made the exact same comment on a painting that she made only moments before, even though he had no idea.
Makes me wish there were more chapters that would reveal they had more in common than she'd care to admit.

No one else but Paulo and Sue cared about whatever snobbery was going on. Everyone else just wanted to have a good time while Sue wanted to show off while Paulo got annoyed at her.
Either I've missed a page or two that's supposed to set the stage, or I just don't care enough about this shit anymore to figure out what this is supposed to convey.
What it's supposed to convey is that pride month is close enough to over that Tae felt comfortable just smash cutting away from homosexual polo and gaisy's boring conversation
Paulo and Daisy is cute but it feels forced because I can't recall Daisy and Paulo having anything else in common except when it comes to fricking Mike.
It's just very boring and forced like MikexLucy but to a lesser extent. There was never even a hint at them having feelings for each other until recently.
The comic has spent plenty of time on making Lucy suffer. Lucy was the one making Mike suffer. It's someone else's turn. Pic unrelated.
>The comic has spent plenty of time on making Lucy suffer.
No it hasn't. Well it's more like Lucy's suffering doesn't change her or make her better as a person. She just gets super sad or does some petty Girlboss shit. Combined with everyone patting her ass and willing to just forget about Mike to make her happy while she screams about nobody understanding her, it makes her real annoying.
Plus it was nowhere near as bad as the 5 years of mike being a sperg because Taeshi can't be evenhanded for jack squat
Allow me to put it this way:
Sue X Paulo is more believable and interesting, and they wholly different.
Hell, so is David X Daisy.
Honestly Paulo and Daisy only works with them as sort of childhood friends, the kind that's like close siblings but from different parents.
But that pretty much excludes the romantic aspect.
It strikes me as a depressing second-choice way of tying up loose ends.
Paulo and Daisy have both been dragged down by others into insecurity and obsession, so the better way to advance their arcs would be for them to decide to not define themselves around others and to focus on themselves. Paulo works and plans harder to keep his mind off girl troubles, Daisy decides to prove her worth through her grades and prospects.
I thought Francis was French for some reason.
In that case, given that Sandy and Mike are still on speaking terms after that whole debacle, it was backpedaled. Good to know.
If Taeshi has some fujoshit leanings, they probably don't go that far. Paulo surprise kissing Mike is perhaps the most likely event and even then I'm skeptical.
haha no, author is a massive homophobe and all the gay characters get mocked and looked down on, all the "sexual tension" is just for the diversity points
Matt is fine. She can do gay characters just fine, she just chooses to make Jessica and Madison annoying.
Her early attempt (the gay stereotype whose whole personality was wanting to frick Mike) got dumped in an abandoned house and left to die. Ever since, the gay representation has been improving.
I recall Jess checking to see if they were alone that one time before she kissed Madison. Still definitely less pronounced than with the gay men, although even with the guys we don't get to actually see much homophobia (except from Paulo lol).
What did you mean by this
Sue, because her only flaw is thinking she's smarter and better than everyone else, which is objectively true due to her being surrounded by idiots and psychos.

>willfully ignoring and missing out
Except she usually gets involved, doesn't she? That's the problem with her whole act: she pretends to be above drama while being drawn to it like a moth to a porch light.
I'm not sure if it's there in the redraw, but in volume 1 there was a whole chapter about her being desperate to join The Table, iirc.

>That's the problem with her whole act: she pretends to be above drama while being drawn to it like a moth to a porch light.
She's a lonely girl. Her best friend is a mute, and most of her conversations are online. She gets bullied by the cool kids (Lucy, Stacy, etc) but still wants to be one. But her being too awkward and self-sabotaging to succeed in her attempts to be cool is ironically her saving grace.

>I'm not sure if it's there in the redraw
It is, which surprises me since a big chunk of that chapter was about a bunch of OC's and fan characters, but they were replaced with Katie, Stacie and a few NPCs (McCain surprisingly kept in).

The redraw had some pretty weird scenes. Katie's Kizuna-replacement was the stupidest, the story clearly called for someone in love with David and her stupid hair product arc made no sense

Plus it means a new reader will come to see Katie as a gag character stuck-up girl who ironically gets drawn into slapstick situations that make her look ridiclous, but this will stop cold when volume 2 starts.

If only Katie had more you know character and interactions with other cheerleaders like Rachel and Daisy
Taeshi hates men in general, but dispises gay dudes quite alot. Her previous incarnation of gay representation was Carson back in the day.
A really super crazy horny effeminate dude that wanted to frick Mike. He was left at the bottom of an abandoned house's basement in a deleted Halloween chapter.
Matt being a big dumb gay just for diversity brownie points but nothing more becomes of it. The whole Jordan twink-quest subplot was a huge fricking waste of time.
Polo being maybeh?????/ into guys again is the same thing.
Taeshi IS a closested lesbian and totally gets off to Jessica and Madison. With Madison being her second fursona to Lucy. Also randomly Tess and Daisy announced they were bi too.
You are much MUCH more likely to get piss, incest and pedo shit then any decent LGBT characters in this comic.
Hope you like horrible toxic fricking hetero couples shoved down your throat instead.
Matt is fine. She can do gay characters just fine, she just chooses to make Jessica and Madison annoying.

This.
Also anon, don't bet on anything good or interesting happening in this comic. If you aren't reading it for the cringe factor then you are doing it wrong.
You know I don't see a lot of talk about Carter (or whatever his name was) and how his pages got nuked as well. Wonder why, I always liked the gag of Lucy finding him in the rain and declaring her love.
What high school male had their own queen size bed?
Anyone who didn’t come from a poorgay family
Wanna say props for making Mike seem older with the hair and track thing. I think he knows he's outgrowing Sandy and becoming the Hot One.
My parents are both doctors, I still had a twin. Guess it's a culture thing.
>Wanna say props for making Mike seem older with the hair and track thing.
It's a subtle thing Taeshi has been adding in, showing him mature physically as well as mentally.
More like inconsistently
Mike's slowly morphing into his final form
Frick yes.
My sister had one as a hand-me-down but I don't want to make excuses for Taeshi.
Could be a full size bed, but if that's the case then Mike is a total manlet.
In the old comics the pers would sleep in their beds. New explanation might be that Mike's parents knew Daisy was lusting after him so they'd better get him a bed big enough for her lard ass to fit on
I did, but that’s because I grew too big for my old bed (I’m 6’5” right now)
I was 6 feet tall in 9th grade (age 14). It was a used queen size bed in my room but it was a good shape and I still had room for my desk, chair, dresser, night stand, etc. Feels good to come from a white privileged home in a rural county, let me tell ya.
I had one because the furniture set it came with was on sale at a really good price.
I think she just feels guilty but is being awkward about expressing it
She's being insensitive on accident because she's an air head
I think Sandy is slowly trying to push Mike away.
It's clear that there is a rift between them that neither wants to admit. And both would honestly be better off without the other. However, Sandy wants to avoid the guilt of being the one to end things and doesn't want to break Mike's heart - again.

>having Sandy be humiliated and knocked down a few pegs
sandy cheated on mike and fricked some other dude. he is a literal cuck. mike just breaking up with her is nothing in comparison no matter how "hot" he is for doing sports
Not in Taeshi's mindset
I'm not going to imagine Sandy has any positive qualities until we're given a clear and coherent reason why she got back together with Mike. Taeshi is predictably vindictive which means Sandy is going to be the bad guy until proven otherwise. Given that Taeshi has randomly shit-talked Sandy in the discord chat, like she couldn't hold back her spite, the chances of a humanized Sandy seem pretty damn low. So I fully expect Mike's just going to be her second choice because suddenly Francis was out of the picture and Sandy got lonely or something just as selfish.

This. These conversations are like I had with a friend who already moved away and did not really wanted to break our friendship, but she did not have the time and the interest to care about me.
This last period is so fricking cringe.
We already had a fricking decade of that. This is just dragging the same shit out with more dialogue and no justification beyond patreonbux.
What is Goldie up to these days? Does she even remember Suitcase?
Please don't try to find Goldie.
>last minute Christmas shopping
In July?
What month it even is in the comics?
It's December 2008
>one more year until minceraft canonically exists in the BCB universe
>one more year until homestuck exists
>a shit comic is created canonically in a shit comic
Half a year until Michael Jackson and Billy Mays die
In a few months the story will end.
The last two months have taken five years to cover.
Yeah. It can take like 2-3 years.
Depends on Vero of course.
I dunno how long she can drag this out.
>page doesn't show comments
oof
I'm surprised he still has the bonsai, you'd think he at least put it somewhere else
Oh good lord why is she still dragging this out. At least fluffy Mike is back.
I'm starting to think Eternal Flame is going to join Witch Hunt as a "big deal" chapter that could safely be removed from the comic with zero impact.
EF's only lasting impact was getting Mike and Lucy to act like their actual selves again, as opposed to the cringefest half-decade that preceeded it.
Mike and Sandy's reconciliation is so schizophrenic. I don't know why Taeshi insists it makes sense.
Friday was stream day, and we didn't have a trash thread?
Whack.
Now draw them looking scared.
Didn't have anything to post, what's the point of the trash thread when drawanons stop coming to these things anyway
Taeshi's plan is to raise Mike's value as a male so that Sandy will be knocked off her pedestal and desperately want him back whenever he finally dumps her. She wants Sandy broken and humiliated by the end of her relationship with Mike.
I can get on board with that
Its impossible to ever take Mike seriously as a character until he moves on from this moronic fricking relationship
This, I bet she starts getting jealous
I can see Mike bringing up Daisy in some capacity and it makes Sandy a bit jealous. Or Sandy getting jealous of Mike hanging out with other girls is a thing that happens later.
Expect that to be paired with the revelation that her earlier concern over Lucy's abuse was just to drive a wedge between her and Mike out of jealousy, damn the narrative consequences.

That makes too much sense and therefore cannot happen. Only the most baffling or moronic plotpoints are allowed in BCB
Can I offer you some MikexAmaya 😀 in these trying times?
Not loving the Oliver look on Mike at all
Anyway here's Monday's video. Paulo deep dive.
Mike looks good here.
Yep!
Nope.
I wonder just how much of a powder keg it'll be when Sandy comes to visit Mike while Lucy is actually around now. Hell, go for a 3-way argument between Sandy, Lucy, and Daisy.
why would lucy or sandy give a shit about one another?

Mike suicide arc when?
He's already been made into Lucy's live in pet, might as well have him be my pet too.
Sorry anon but these two are already owned
I can't tell because for some reason this artist draws every cat to look like Abbey.
BCB characters and collars are a good mix. They should not be allowed outside the home unsupervised.
Guys I think the comic is trying to tell us something about Sandy, but I'm not sure what yet.
>when Taeshi fricking despises a character/effigy with every fiber of her being but tries to feign even-handed subtlety
Something something depicting east asians are bossy overachievers
Have you noticed Jasmine is the same stereotype kek
Which is why Taeshi could never make these characters human permanently or get into human comics. It'd be too noticeable
I remember they said (a while ago) that their next comic wouldn't be cat. However I don't know if we will ever see it, cat reigns forever
I think it's just something Taeshi tells herself and her supporters while knowing full well it'll never happen.
Guys who is best girl and why is it Sue?
She pulled ahead of Daisy when the latter was reduced to a package of rainbow oreos
The only problem with Sue is her Ego and her need to be seen as the most 'Mature' of the group.
If she fixes that then she becomes the best girl in the gang.
Even that trait is fine when she suffers for it. But for a just fueled her Lucy simping and that's no good
>her Ego
That's what makes her interesting though. Remove her smug ego and she's an empty character like Amaya. Unlike other characters, Sue actually gets challenged and almost learns from her mistakes.

I want abbey to beat her.
Sue should've been the MC. Frick Lucy or Mike or whoever's gonna be the MC of the week.
Sue originally WAS the MC.
Imagine Sue being the Doomed Sad Cat That's Always Right instead of Lucy. The whole story would be so different!
>Not Amaya
?????
Sue, because her only flaw is thinking she's smarter and better than everyone else, which is objectively true due to her being surrounded by idiots and psychos.

Who, in the comic, is as smart or smarter than Sue?
Maybe Augustus or Abbey, but Augustus is only street-smart, and Abbey is even more rigid than Sue.
Mike is supposed to be super smart, but that's book smart. Same with Daisy.
Paulo is probably the most adult out of the bunch, taking on responsibilities like getting a job and getting a car. Amaya has a job but she's forced to because her family owns the theatre or whatever.

whoa
Anybody got the gay Mike edits from a couple threads back?
Ok this one got a chuckle out of me.
Can you just rewrite the whole comic now?
Why must Mike always have a sad face on the last panel?
Cliffhanger
these cats always look best when sad, case in point Lucy
None of these cats deserve to suffer more than Lucy
The comic has spent plenty of time on making Lucy suffer. Lucy was the one making Mike suffer. It's someone else's turn. Pic unrelated.
Yet she has not suffered enough
Cause Sandy is reminding him of her whoring ways and his own simpery
This comic is basically Goblins! level of crying, but at least in that comic, it's them responding properly to a D&D world. In this, it's just...
...I mean, where's the "bittersweet" part of the name?
>Mike
What a cuck.
This is his future endgame girlfriend
Look who's talking
I know MikexSandy is obviously destined to fail, but how do you all feel about PauloxDaisy?
It has no appeal or chemistry. Feels forced.
Almost the definition of forced. There was a way to do it right but Taeshi fricked that up forever ago.
it's overshadowed by every other pairing that Daisy and Paulo could be in instead
Allow me to put it this way:
Sue X Paulo is more believable and interesting, and they wholly different.
Hell, so is David X Daisy.
Honestly Paulo and Daisy only works with them as sort of childhood friends, the kind that's like close siblings but from different parents.
But that pretty much excludes the romantic aspect.
as childhood friends, very cute
as a couple, bad
It strikes me as a depressing second-choice way of tying up loose ends.
Paulo and Daisy have both been dragged down by others into insecurity and obsession, so the better way to advance their arcs would be for them to decide to not define themselves around others and to focus on themselves. Paulo works and plans harder to keep his mind off girl troubles, Daisy decides to prove her worth through her grades and prospects.
I love Rachel! I want to be her husband!
>Wants to marry the loose dog that's known to sleep around
Wholesome
when do they have sex
Isn't Sandy still fricking that French guy on the side? What happened with him? Did that entire plot line get backpedaled?
She supposedly broke up with Francis. Not sure who the "French guy" is.
I thought Francis was French for some reason.
In that case, given that Sandy and Mike are still on speaking terms after that whole debacle, it was backpedaled. Good to know.
I guess so, because I can't even remember who this french guy is
Familyanon, you still around?
Would you subscribe?
If you're gonna simp, at least simp for a titty streamer
Do the cute boys ever kiss eachother or am I wasting my time reading these threads
Ever since, the gay representation has been improving.
in all honest Matt could at least be better
matt is yet another punching bag who is never allowed to be happy, which makes sense since he's yet another proxy for the author's pathetic husband
Should Matt count when he's just a Mike weighed down by sexuality instead of Lucy?
I think it odd the lesbians in the comic are a-ok to be outwardly gay but not the men. Strange world.
BCB has become nothing sort of Taeshi's fantasy land of personal convenience
>has become
Always has been
Impossible. Taeshi used to actually criticize her own fursona.
I recall Jess checking to see if they were alone that one time before she kissed Madison. Still definitely less pronounced than with the gay men, although even with the guys we don't get to actually see much homophobia (except from Paulo lol).
What did you mean by this
>willfully ignoring and missing out
Except she usually gets involved, doesn't she? That's the problem with her whole act: she pretends to be above drama while being drawn to it like a moth to a porch light.
I'm not sure if it's there in the redraw, but in volume 1 there was a whole chapter about her being desperate to join The Table, iirc.
>checking to see if they were alone that one time before she kissed Madison
she did
>That's the problem with her whole act: she pretends to be above drama while being drawn to it like a moth to a porch light.
It is, which surprises me since a big chunk of that chapter was about a bunch of OC's and fan characters, but they were replaced with Katie, Stacie and a few NPCs (McCain surprisingly kept in).
shit, I meant to quote
Lmao no it fricking hasn't.
I'm pretty sure Carter was a fan character like McCain or Kizuna, and was a very explicit self-insert
I thought he was made up to make fun of those types of fans though?
Wasn't his name Carson?
Carter was obsessed with Lucy. Carson was the gay stereotype.
Got a picture of him?
