Daisy is a horny, lying bawd and she knows Paulo's gay.
I dont think she is actually over Mike, but just gave up knowing he would never love her back when Mike ia literally obsessed with Sandy
But Mike admitted to her that Sandy is shit. He's more vulnerable to being "stolen" from her then ever....and NOW Daisy decides she doesn't want him? Why?
Because Taeshi's fricking stupid
But maybe Daisy would feel guilty if she tried to pounce on him while he is so vulnerable
I'd bother caring if Taeshi hadn't fallen into the bad habit of setting up plots only to get bored or distracted and drop them with no warning. There's not much reason to expect a payoff anymore.
Brace yourself, we're about to switch over to Daisy's wet dream
Because they made out and uh.. it made her realize she doesn't want to be with him, I suppose.
Despite going full boy-crazy while doing it.
I guess the novelty worn off when she did.
Because she's catching feelings for Paulo. I don't know how you guys keeping missing this. >thought they were going on a date to the movies >looked disappointed after she kissed Mike and said now she's sure about her feelings
I don't care if it's good writing or not and yeah Paulo/Daisy sucks but I don't know how you could look at her and Mike's expressions after they kissed and thought "OH THIS IS GOING PLACES".
Nobody's missed it. Her feelings for Paulo make no sense while jumping on Mike while he's feeling vulnerable makes all too much sense. There's been no adequate explanation for her change in preference.
It's more like nobody wanted it to happen because MikexDaisy had much more interesting routes it could have gone. She's pushing for MikexLucy and PauloxDaisy. We know this. The latter is boring as hell on top of not being implemented properly in terms of build up and the former just should not happen at all because of how Taeshi's written both Mike and Lucy.
Why would she suddenly stop liking Mike and go for Paulo? What events build up to her losing her feelings for one and gaining them for the other when she's liked Mike all this time?
It sure would be nice for Taeshi to stop dancing around the subject and state out loud just what the frick Mike and Lucy are supposed to see in each other these days. Same with Paulo and Daisy. Perhaps she knows doing so would confirm both her personal insanity and the toxicity of her current relationship.
I maintain that PauloXDaisy is a depressing pity-frick of a ship on top of being super boring. Still not quite as toxic as MikeXLucy, but that's a bar so low it's abyssal.

Mike and Lucy are physically attractive, and Paulo and Daisy have been spurned by the people they're actually interested in.
I suspect Taeshi is trying to steer MikeXLucy in the same direction as PauloXDaisy by burning all of Mike/Lucy's other bridges, but that doesn't really work when the bridge between Mike and Lucy has been a smoldering ash pile for years.

Two big glaring issues with that: MxL is the fursonification of Taeshi and Suitcase's relationship, and BCB is one long obsessive Goldiecope. Suit got together with Taeshi for realisies only after Goldie pulled an Avatar Roku. That's been a major point of insecurity for Taeshi, one she's detailed at some length. Vero's biggest fear is that Oliver merely up and settled on her. Therefore if another more -ahem- "suitable" woman/underaged girl happens along, Oliver might leave her neurotic self for greener pastures. So Mike and Lucy therefore *cannot* be left as the other's only viable choice. They *must* overcome the ridiculous odds stacked against them both, see whatever the frick Taeshi thinks binds her and Suitcase together, and willingly set aside all other options for the sake of their One True Love. Otherwise Taeshi just reinforces her own paranoia instead of working through it.
Its pretty jarring. She was crazy about Mike and wanted him from the start. She jumps at him the second the hold of Sandy and Lucy begins to break and supports him. Now she's just over him and wants Paulo now because..?
She's a Pepe LePew kind of character.
She's only in it for the chase and the challenge.
If she wins, then it's no longer fun for her.

But she hasn't won Mike. He's still with Sandy. All she got out of him was a kiss that Mike regrets while she quite openly does not. If anything, Mike is currently the most tantalizing challenge available.

More interesting than PauloxDaisy for sure. Bonus: It leaves Gus less time to play teddy bear for Lucy.
She looked regretful for all of five seconds and then was visibly pleased with the whole thing, assuring Mike she loved it and even throwing in a less-than-innocent insinuation she'd like to become Mike's personal confidant.
She was pleased because she finally came to terms with not actually wanting to be with Mike. >while jumping on Mike while he's feeling vulnerable makes all too much sense
Which she did, only to regret because she likes Paulo.
Daisy is a turbothot, yeah, but if she dated Mike now (or any other rando boy like someone from the track team) it'd just be an Abbey situation where the physical component is there but not the emotional one. She was absolutely willing to get boned by Abbey just like she would be with Mike, but that's not a high bar for Daisy.
Bro, every person knows Paulo/Daisy is meant to be endgame even though the ship is shit, but still worth mentioning how things are dropped so quickly within a day for no reason
>wanted what she couldn't have for a while >finally got a taste >allure is gone and now she's after something more realistic
Probably more thought than was put into it but it's not super out there. Sort of thing happens all the time in affairs when the fun wears off
It doesn't really make sense because we didn't see this development on screen. At most we got her and Mike arguing, making up, and making out. And then we saw Daisy now just oogling Paulo. I wish we saw her actually sorting her feelings out, but this is just where we are at now story wise I guess
But Mike admitted to her that Sandy is shit. He's more vulnerable to being "stolen" from her then ever....and NOW Daisy decides she doesn't want him? Why?
PxD sure killed reader engagement, huh? I know the grass is always greener and all that, but I already kind of miss Eternal Flame and Double Down.
I'm also going to again point out the similarity between Paulo and Daisy "getting over" their respective crushes, where the comic goes out of its way to show that they're each still intensely attracted to Lucy and Mike respectively. Of course, Mike isn't literally Taeshi, so I think Daisy will be allowed to actually be over him instead of merely pretending.
Is this going to be like a repeat of Matt's problem with Jordan? Except James might actually be gay and just not into Paulo.
I’m thinking we will get a parallel for Paulo in the next page or coming pages similar to how he thought of Lucy -> Mike when bowling. Here it will be him looking at floofy James who then transitions into Daisy which will be a setup for his attraction to Daisy from there. He will feel the need to stuff the fluff
Boy Toy came out in 2015 and Paulo hasn't taken a single fricking step from where he was then. Except now he gets to have two pointless, shallow crushes instead of one! Can't wait for Paulo to finally accept that it's okay to be gay. After that, Sue can have the shocking revelation that women should be allowed to vote. I'm on the edge of my seat, really.
Didn't Paulo already accept his bi side? It feels like we already wrapped up this plot point. I could be wrong, it's been hard to give a frick about the naked queerbait plots.
>Paulo asking Daisy why she's there of she doesn't want to frick Mike >Missing the fact he's there himself and it's definitely not for Daisy
So long GayPolo
A good deal of marketing attempts are shat out on the official discord server. The cultivated BCB audience is young and stupid enough to get peer pressured into thinking BCB is a quality comic to begin with, politically progressive enough to show solidarity, and bad enough with money to do so via naked grift.
Why don't people like Paulo/Daisy? I picked up BCB a few months ago and blitz read it and its my favorite ship in the comic, but I think I have a different perspective on it than people who have been reading for years.
Well personally I think Paulo/Daisy is boring but if you're just picking it up more recently then yeah you'll probably feel differently about it.
The short of it is that it's a very obvious ship and doesn't leave room for a lot of interesting things to happen. On top of that the execution to getting to that point has been quite clumsy. Combined with how Daisy acted with Mike and Paulo acted with Lucy in the previous chapter. Even here when they're having this conversation, Daisy claims she doesnt want Mike but she only came to the gym because of Mike and the other track team members.
but of the two endgame ships it's still the least offensive and one that's still kind of workable. MikexLucy is scorched earth and Taeshi seems to be trying to plant seeds to grow there that just won't. Or rather they shouldn't.
Because it's very hard to imagine someone like Daisy falling in love with someone like Paulo. He has one or two traits she'd find attractive and plenty she would not. There's also zero natural chemistry between them.
>and plenty she would not.
Like what? I think their main point of contention is Paulo content working a McJob forever while Daisy wants to be a doctor, but in terms of personality I think they're the most compatible, not to mention the only reason Paulo isn't hitting on Daisy 24/7 is because he deliberately tries keeping her in the friendzone, otherwise he'd lavish her with praise, giving her the (sexual) validation she's been gunning for the entire series.
Paulo is an butthole, something Daisy rarely if ever holds him accountable for but will criticize in anyone else. Even she's been on the receiving end of it. Paulo's choice of work isn't the problem so much as the attitude that lead to it. Daisy's personal ambition outstrips Paulo's by a country mile. He's a thoughtless moron who's only just starting to show an empathetic side (in comic time) but will turn right around and drop it into the dumpster at a moment's notice. I could see her appreciating his work ethic but that's about it.
As previously mentioned, the ship is both inorganic and kind of dull, due to the nature of Paulo and Daisy's friendship.
For me though, I dislike it because I think it's a disservice to Daisy and Paulo's character arcs. Paulo's whole thing is/was being a flirt and a bully to cover up his anger and sadness from not being able to win over Lucy. Daisy's whole thing was/is feeling like the frumpy last-girl-in-line, and jealousy over Lucy and Sandy's relationship to Mike.
The natural ballistic endpoint to their arcs is Paulo realizing Lucy's not worth it and becoming less of an butthole, and Daisy realizing she's a better person than Lucy or Sandy and being happy with who she is. That's theoretically compatible with PauloXDaisy, but pairing two characters who's plots both revolve around them getting over a long-term crush feels like it undermines the weight of that arc. It reads less as them having learned self-respect and moved on, and more like settling for whoever will take them.
Of course, this problem is exacerbated by the fact that in both of their cases the lesson has been learnt and forgotten multiple times. Paulo's still an butthole who pines after Lucy despite getting his heart ripped out 4 separate times, and Daisy's seen firsthand how petty and shallow Lucy and Sandy are but she's still insecure. Probably because the secondary characters growing more confident is unacceptable, as it would mean Lucy couldn't be the coolest, most mature b***h ever who everyone is jealous of and wants to fawn over.
It's so bizarre. Any other author, and I would say it's obvious that Daisy is lying to herself and trying to convince herself that she's over Mike because she has a chance with Paulo, with her actions and expressions (like how she can't meet Paulo's eye when saying she's over Mike) speaking much louder than words.
But
This is fricking Taeshi. She's so fixated on her ridiculous "otps" that we KNOW it's daisy and paulo at the end, no matter how the characters act. It just makes no sense the way she's going about it. I don't give a shit who is paired with who but AT LEAST TRY AND MAKE IT MAKE SENSE
Jesus frick, even Taeshi doesn't know what she's trying to imply here anymore. Just get on with it, Taeshi, so we can get to the fricking end and be done with this shit.
Isn't this a one or the other situation? Either a guy is getting cucked or a girl. That being said, I'm with
Lucy I guess
Even if he doesn't get with Daisy, I would still rather see Mike get with anyone other than Lucy. Taeshi nuked that ship fricking hard and I can't see it working without years of repairing their friendship in the comic.
At most, they can only logically become friends and not go beyond that.
I like MikexAmaya because it's cute, but honestly I feel like Mike has some of the lowest romantic potential of the entire cast. Considering him being tethered to Sandy by the plot, being written increasingly childlike as the comic goes on, and having comparatively little time in the spotlight outside of drama, he just doesn't have chemistry with anybody. And of course, he'll be immediately railroaded into MxL the second he's freed from Sandy.
Ideally he should be given some space to develop as a person without Sandy, otherwise I don't think any ship would be believable.
To be honest, I could easily see Mike developing to the point where he empathy spirals. But frick giving Lucy more ass-pats, she needs to earn that love for once.
At this point, Mike x Sandy is forced as hell. There is no consistent explanation for why he's still with her. I also disagree with that romantic potential assessment; if anything, Mike has the most potential out of the entire male cast. You know, if he was let off the leash and allowed to evolve as a character.
>Mike has the most potential out of the entire male cast
Go into more detail about this; I'm curious. To me it seems like Taeshi doesn't have much interest in writing Mike as a love interest.
Didn't Paulo already accept his bi side? It feels like we already wrapped up this plot point. I could be wrong, it's been hard to give a frick about the naked queerbait plots.
He isn't aggressively homophobic anymore, but he still freaks out at even the slightest insinuation that he's interested in guys.
Even if he doesn't get with Daisy, I would still rather see Mike get with anyone other than Lucy. Taeshi nuked that ship fricking hard and I can't see it working without years of repairing their friendship in the comic.
At most, they can only logically become friends and not go beyond that.
It's weird how Taeshi pushes this whole thing as some sort of romantic tragedy rather than a dysfunctional trainwreck. Just how fricked up is her understanding of relationships? How much copium is this woman smoking? This shit would be toxic even by anime standards. Both Mike and Lucy would need to go through a radical character shift, and watching that would in theory be interesting but fricking hell Taeshi is clearly not someone who could write that.
I can't believe we put off the diversity squad for a few pages and we get another out-of-closet plot but this time it's Paulo's second (or third depending on how you look at it), why can't it just be a Paulo and Daisy chapter where they reaffirm their feelings of one another instead of talking about how much they are in denial about wanting to suck Mike's penis? Speaking of which, Mike has been on a high note, are we already going towards Lucy's low point where the suicide thing is vaguely brought up before people reaffirm how they really love her?
I think this is just Taeshi setting some time aside for Mike damage control. She's been adamant that readers should feel sorry for Mike (or at least not despise him) and finally got it through her skull that sympathetic characters need to actually display whatever positive traits they allegedly have. This push is not random. If Taeshi intended to simply discard the Mike x Lucy plotpoint, then she'd just keep villainizing Mike until it got boring. Then he'd get tossed aside without a second thought. Therefore I see only two possibilities before us:
1) There's more Mike x Lucy incoming for some ungodly reason and Taeshi does not want it greeted with a chorus of jeering despair. Mike needs to be regarded as a desirable endgame.
2) Before the inevitable reconciliation, Mike is due his season of suffering. Either something more serious than the eye-rolling "boohoo muh Sandy" garbage or--as is all too likely--yet more of the same. Taeshi's indulged her need to punish Mike/Suitcase for so long and hard that whatever shit Mike goes through would be seen as karma. Why feel sorry for history's greatest monster when he's getting his just desserts? In either scenario, he needs a PR fix.
>Mike has the most potential out of the entire male cast
Go into more detail about this; I'm curious. To me it seems like Taeshi doesn't have much interest in writing Mike as a love interest.
[...]
He isn't aggressively homophobic anymore, but he still freaks out at even the slightest insinuation that he's interested in guys.
Before Taeshi lobotomized him for her own sick kicks, Mike was one of the most empathetic and self-sacrificial members of the cast. If he was allowed to grow a spine, Mike would be ideal boyfriend material. On the other hand, he was also self-critical to a fault. Destroying his sense of personal value would not be hard--it's what caused this whole stupid mess to begin with and could easily be recontextualized as a huge mistake. A mix of self-hatred and overactive empathy could lead to some interesting results.
>Before Taeshi lobotomized him for her own sick kicks
In fairness, that was years ago. At a certain point I stop thinking of it as out-of-character and assume that a character is just shit now. >If he was allowed to grow a spine, Mike would be ideal boyfriend material.
But that'd mean he'd no longer be Lucy's perfect enabler I MEAN Twoo Love.
A mix of self-hatred and overactive empathy could lead to some interesting results
It could, but Taeshi swerves around interesting results and plotlines like she's allergic.
If Taeshi wanted Daisy and Paulo together, she would've set it up when they went to that Cinemaphilemic con or Cinemaphileideogame convention or whatever. This is just gonna be another PauloxDaisy bait only for one of them to not commit.
>Anyway, with Mike finally happy, can this comic finally end off on a good note?
Mike exists to make Lucy happy. It's his reason for being. Of he's not treating Lucy like a princess, the comic can't end.
The funny thing is he's the character who'd logically obsess over her the most, if out of a guilt-induced slow meltdown. But Taeshi writes Mike with selective amnesia because her Goldiemald is everyone's Goldiemald, consarnit!
Fricking lame.
Bisexual cat is pretty attractive in this one
I don't get it; why is she supposed to have finally stopped wantng Mike's dick?
She’s lying here

In Taeshi's world, maybe. But I've always found the argument pretty weak when it depended entirely on some vague page commentary.

No, of course not.. because it will be like Oh.. Daisy realizes she wants to frick Paulo!
Or maybe Paulo is repeating his horny Lucy daydream who turns into Mike when he is trying to score some bussy for Matt.. then ultimately failed.

I've concluded that the people who say this are too stupid to make informed choices, so it all evens out in the end.

Would enjoy Paulo turning Sue into a tradwife though
Boring. They need to stay a bickering but loving couple and that means Sue has to remain her dumbass blowhard self.
I can't believe dreamanon was right. This comic is just gays denying their gayness

That makes sense and I hate it

I said this in another thread but they remind me of Ron and Hermione, who Rowling said would need marriage counselling kek
why'd she put them together then and not just have Hermione with Harry or something
She said she regrets it, but you know like bcb the series was planned out from the beginning
>and plenty she would not.
>It reads less as them having learned self-respect and moved on, and more like settling for whoever will take them.
It's true!
Mike and Amaya should kiss. Frick all the other bawds, she's the best waifu. And Haley knows it too
Based. Amaya x Mike should be endgame.
Paging leakdescriptionanon
Do not read this comic.
Looks like Daisy is finally tall enough these days
Jesus frick, even Taeshi doesn't know what she's trying to imply here anymore. Just get on with it, Taeshi, so we can get to the fricking end and be done with this shit.
The ride never ends.
If Mike is a cuck then who is the cuckquean
Sandy, obviously
how
Lucy I guess
Isn't this a one or the other situation? Either a guy is getting cucked or a girl. That being said, I'm with
I like MikexAmaya because it's cute, but honestly I feel like Mike has some of the lowest romantic potential of the entire cast.
Amaya and Sue should share Mike. The three of them seem to get along well and there's no way Amaya and Sue aren't at least bicurious
>Ideally he should be given some space to develop as a person without Sandy, otherwise I don't think any ship would be believable.
It sadly wont happen because if he develops as a person then how can he feel super duper bad for Lucy and fall in love with her all over again?
He isn't aggressively homophobic anymore, but he still freaks out at even the slightest insinuation that he's interested in guys.
Definitely Lucy.
Choose your bull
please proliferate this pic so people stop drawing tyrone as a pit bull
It's important alternative BCB lore. Sadly, people can't even keep Tyrone and Francis apart.
I choose Tyrone cause at least he's hot tbh.
Francis but only if he looked like pic related
Imagine your girlfriend finding the only straight male hair dresser and cheating on you with him. Bad luck, Mike.
Who even cares at this point
This is just gonna be another PauloxDaisy bait only for one of them to not commit.
this prostitute, what the frick. Anyway, with Mike finally happy, can this comic finally end off on a good note?
>Anyway, with Mike finally happy, can this comic finally end off on a good note?
Mike exists to make Lucy happy. It's his reason for being. Of he's not treating Lucy like a princess, the comic can't end.
The funny thing is he's the character who'd logically obsess over her the most, if out of a guilt-induced slow meltdown. But Taeshi writes Mike with selective amnesia because her Goldiemald is everyone's Goldiemald, consarnit!
I LOVE MIKE!
