Wait till you find out the absolutely absurd requirements to even get into WGA just to be allowed to TRY for a job, which unsurprisingly you can skip entirely if a WGA memeber "Mentors" you.

The reason all these writers are bad at writing and also full of themselves is how hard they got fricked for a freebie in the door.

You have to get a job in order to qualify for the WGA, not the other way around you regard

Look at this moron so moronic he can't even spell it.

        https://www.wga.org/the-guild/going-guild/join-the-guild
Slide down to "Writer owned company" and get your mind blown harder than the "Writers" who were allowed to work within "Guild jurisdiction".

Yes, you read that right, you have to specifically publish works within the union jurisdiction which isn't open to non-members in order to become a member, gee I wonder how they manage that one?

I'm all for unions but the American entertainment industry has taken the concept to such dystopian lengths.

You just have to get a relevant production company to buy your work. It's obviously difficult because it's a small job market, but being a member is not a prerequisite to either script selling or being hired to write, because that's covered by the company.

I didn't imply I'm mad, and my statement stands regardless if that specific frickery is true.
              >You just have to get a relevant production company to buy your work
Yeah that doesn't sound nepotistic at all, I'm sure it's very impartial what company is considered "relevant".

What? That section is about how writers can't make their own front company to say they have a bunch of writing credits. It's common sense.

Dude who created Solar Opposites with Justin Roiland and worked on Rick and Morty and Star Trek Lower Decks. But let's be honest; Twitter threads don't care about what they've done and more on what they tweet.

You can also tell Cinemaphile is a few years younger than Cinemaphile, has an exponentially higher number of female anons, and is way less jaded about the industry and about life. It's way less intimidating to gauge interest on here.

Have good examples of writing to show that you actually know how a script is formatted and written. Have examples that show that you're aware of the subtleties and nuances between writing a TV episode script, a feature film script, a comic script, and a pitch deck presentation. The reason wannabe writers always fail is because they don't properly understand the border between vague "idea guy" (everyone is a vague idea guy) and an actual writer.

There's probably a little more of a market for artists and storyboard artists just because the immediate visual element of it. But for writers the only audience is either other writers or producers, and they aren't looking for something as vague and intangible as writing from social media randos.
