This is the most accurate description of the series I’ve seen. It is the definition of “I SAW THAT THING FROM ANOTHER SERIES SO I CLAPPED” and the same tired adult cartoon humor you’ve seen a hundred times.
If you really want to split hairs then it’s the best NuTrek show. But that doesn’t mean much.
and to be tbh it only gained traction here because of >oh my god, is that a family guy style cartoon where a loud sassy black woman is friends with a quiet nerdy white guy??? AAAAAA I'M GONNA SHIIIIIIIP

JJ Abrams movies didn’t destroy the brand the way this thing did.
JJ Trek was a Reboot of the franchise as a whole that fundamentally ended up nowhere and now Star Trek is stuck between ignoring it while some of it's worse design language decisions get shoehorned in one of the numerous sequel/prequel/interquels
>saved the brand
If you consider hijacking a family-friendly franchise and turning it into a vulgar and unintelligent manchild drivel saving… then yes!
Kurtzman and McMahan managed to turn a fifty year old merchandizing juggernaut that once rivaled Star Wars into something utterly unmarketable. And they accomplished this in less than ten years.
I mean, how the frick can you advertise Star Trek to families now that they had people getting their eyes gouged out and cartoons flashing their buttholes on camera? There’s no salvaging this. Star Trek will die with Paramount+ because no one will want to touch it anymore. That’s how much the value of this brand has been degraded by those morons.
>saved the brand >yes!

You’d be surprised by some of the stuff that made it into family content back in the 80s. Indiana Jones had some of the goriest death scenes for its villains.
But having a gorey death for a villain is not in the same ballpark as transforming the entire franchise into “adult” shit.
No, but the egregious writing would fit in in a cartoon considering how shitty it is. I understand why someone that hates modern trek would find lower decks fine, they think it is a bit of fun when it actually is completely canon and all the shit is supposed to be actually happening, then it should really piss off any star trek fan
>sheboon protagonist
The israelites who made it let you know it's bad from the thumbnail. It's like israelite israelite Abraham revealing the niggest under the stormtrooper helmet, you immediately knew you would never watch another "star wars" movie after the israeli buyout.
It's alright 6/10.
But it actually plays in the Star Trek universe, unlike all the other recent "Star Trek" shows. It's not a reboot, it's not a re-imagining. Which puts it ahead automatically.

It's literally what happened, trying to deny it is stupid. CBS All Access knew they needed more content besides STD and reruns of NCIS, so they thought well, what does the 18-49 demo like? Rick & Morty? Well let's do that, we can get the guy who was the producer for S3 and came up with szechuan sauce and Pickle Rick to run it.
You know, if McMahan or one of the Titmouse people really lurk here, I do have a question: how's your pipeline output? I was listening to a BTS podcast for another show and the Ludo guys claim with CelAction they can get 30 seconds of finished product a week. Their rigs are simpler but I'm curious how Titmouse manages.
Remember when Disney locked away 50 finished episodes of a Star Wars adult animated sitcom because they feared it would permanently destroy the brand’s reputation?
Its decent. The first season suffers hard from Mariner being way too perfect and competent and flawless and Boimler being an incompetent moron. They seem to have taken the mountain of critisicm to heart on that because every season after its way more balanced all around. And most important, I find it pretty consistent outside a few odd choices the show made the season before the most recent one.
Its really not bad if you can bring yourself to enjoy a comedy show that was made by people that actually seem to enjoy Star Trek.
I mean, they at least have someone on board that has watched Trek. I see more acknowledgement and references to TOS, TNG, DS9 and Voyager in lower decks than everything since Voyager combined. I dont really know how broken and cynical you have to be to pretend my statement isn't accurate when all facts point the other direction.
Every adjective I’ve used is correct and you know this since you watch this shite. Or maybe you don’t and you just repeat the marketing script like a mindless drone.
Eh if anything they backpedaled a bit too hard since it seems like it was always in the cards for Mariner to be revealed as getting in her own way too often judging by how S1 ended, which obviously couldn't have been the result of fan feedback that quickly. I appreciated her sarcasm and they made her too nice over the seasons.
I dont know. The first season, yeah she got in her own way, but she never seemed to actually give two shits. She seemed to enjoy successfully staying at the bottom while getting to do things the way she wanted. The later seasons actually showing her as basically just being good at anything where punching was the solution and a moron at everything else would have been showcased a bit more in the first season if that had been the plan from the start. She literally, not one time in season 1 ever does anything that doesn't work out the way she wants it to. Its why it was such a big criticism.
I'd say her stereotyping Tendi during the holodeck movie while clearly being so unhinged and then later being dropped by Boimler who left to join the Titan showed she really wasn't meant to get things her way. I don't mind that they nerfed her, I just wish they kept some of the attitude because I liked a lot of her observations.
Basically, I have no respect for anyone who continued watching this after it became a lesbian romcom. The references were quaint at first but the show quickly pulled the rug and revealed what it really is.
You’re either paid shills or straight-up troons.
Remember when Trek was able to be funny without constant swearing and references to genetalia?
This scene from S3 of TNG was able to use the personalities of both Picard and Data, while being genuinely funny and keeping a PG rating. And the whole show was full of moments like this.
Picard still manages to out-woke it. From what I've heard it encapsulates every trope of woke post-2010s television. But with the added insult of dragging old versions of beloved characters through it. >But Trek was always woke!
They used to at least put social themes behind metaphors while telling a compelling story in the forefront.
This was a great moment and Sisko was based to reject the holodeck program because he felt it was historically inaccurate
This is the essence of the Trek fandom, to reject the things you find inaccurate and autistically complain about them. In this very thread anon is doing it!
>A captain from 300 years in the future is still completely obsessed with racism
I seem to recall reading it was something Avery Brooks pushed for a lot, which I can understand, but it had absolutely no place in DS9 and all the shit with him being a sci-fi writer in the 50s was weak
Keeping that program around in the Holosuite week after week also had absolutely no place in DS9. When there was so much else the final series needed to cover in the limited show time it had left, filling it with the woes of a Rat-Pack Hologram and wasting time in a virtual entertainment suite was a terrible call.
This would be like me getting upset because my distant ancestor was a peasant or serf in the year 1724. Words like ‘Black person’ don’t even exist in Cisko’s timeline.
It’s Monday and Paramount shills started their shift. Nothing about this thread is organic in the slightest. Shills glow because they must be politically correct.
Abd it's specifically the writers approach.
Orville want to make a scifi in the spirit of Roddenberry. NuTrek wants to make A star trek project and that's a very nebulous idea. Totally different approach and results. Prodigy got away from it I think because Kurzman that frengi big nosed frick because it was kid program and couldn't shovel in his moronic ideas
The craziest thing about this is that it’s true. It’s now public knowledge that media companies hire people to influence online discourse.
But Paramount has been particularly relentless about controlling every aspect of online discussion. If only they poured as much effort into making actual quality shows...
The alternative is that the NuTrek fandom has some of the most disgusting sycophants out there. And they do it for free.
Mike's standard of liking things:
- Does your movie/show cast a celebrity I personally know? (Jack Quaid in 'Star Trek Lower Decks' and 'The Boys')
- Does your movie have a heckin' RLM reference - even if its a cut scene? (The Rich Evans Dick Birthday Shirt photo in Friday Night At Freddy's)
If you said "Yes" to any of those, then Mike loves your movie. He's the quintessential prostitute.
Paramount just announced a whole batch of new projects that will never get made in a desperate attempt to drive up value.
It didn’t work. Paramount+ is still losing money, no one watches NuTrek, and the stock is in the dumpster.
I did some image lookups in the archive and surprise, surprise, we have shills who haven’t been active since 2022. Why a wonderful coincidence that they all showed up for this thread!
>I did some image lookups in the archive and surprise, surprise, we have shills who haven’t been active since 2022.
yo thumbman; make Levy say this exact line, updated for year, in the next season of Decks
It’s better than what I saw from discovery and Picard, so I’ll give it that. I wouldn’t say it’s good, but it’s not bad. It’s just not what I’m looking for from Star Trek personally

Like we said, you're violently triggered by this and that's creepy. And not at all Trek.
>. And not at all Trek.
Who are "we"?
It would appear that the abuse at the hands of your father (rather, his genitals) have caused you to develop schizophrenia. You refer to yourself as multiple people when there is only one.
The vast majority of Trekkies, or are you still convinced you're the leader of some great crusade?
How is one person on boards.Cinemaphile/tv (formerly Cinemaphile) claiming to represent the "vast majority" of Trekkies?
>How is one person on boards.Cinemaphile/tv (formerly Cinemaphile) claiming to represent the "vast majority" of Trekkies?
Boldly and with boldness.
Tell us the truth - are you McMahan or not.
Because if you are, then lol, lmao even
It probably is.
His type always stalk critics.
and this is because gen x is constantly angry and combative; they can't handle criticism, they look at twitter 24/7 looking for fights
all this could have been avoided if mosh pits were normalized as a workplace perq
Star Trek official, all shows, all cast and crews, all fans and conventions and Canon itself are inclusive.
You are utterly forever alone in your hate crusade.
>I'm on the right side of history.
God you people are homosexuals.
Do you speak for these people? Do you speak for the Borg?
>Do you speak for these people? Do you speak for the Borg?
Black person you know EXACTLY who i speak for
Who nominated you the spokesperson for The Fandom Majority?
Do you just spend your days scanning Cinemaphile for Star Trek threads to shit up with your marketing materials?
We don’t get those very often these days but you never fail to show up when there’s one. What do you do when there’s no Star Trek thread to shill in?
He literally just disappears and only reappears when there's a thread with "Trek" in the OP.
If it's a stealth Trek thread, he doesn't post in it. Because he can't ctrl+F for "trek".
>a stealth Trek thread
you mean "curmudgeon containment and enrichment sandbox"
no, just glad you're finding activities to keep you busy
Geezer hide and seek threads. Saddest of the sad.
The worst part is "well if you cartroon picklegays want to talk, make your own nudreck threads and leave Real Trek [which is pre-2005 ONLY] threads alone"
which is exactly what this thread is, it is explicitly about lower decks
but they must invade it to argue rather than make their own Real Trek [which is pre-2005 ONLY] thread
The thread asked the board a question. Not my fault you don’t like the answer. Start shilling better shows.
>I'm just gonna twist your words because I'm a c**t.
>Because people value his opinions
wasn't there a TNG episode where some guy's head exploded Scanners style
Conspiracy
it ended on an open cliffhanger, but they never did anything with it, did they?
Matalas was going to use it for Picard S3 but he mistakenly thought they were all dead and so went with the Changelings instead. It would have been cooler with the bluegills imo, but Amanda Plummer hammed it up wonderfully either way.
You’d be surprised by some of the stuff that made it into family content back in the 80s. Indiana Jones had some of the goriest death scenes for its villains.
But having a gorey death for a villain is not in the same ballpark as transforming the entire franchise into “adult” shit.
still better than STD
No. It combines everything that sucks about STD (gore, swearing, shitty action) with its own flavor of suck.
>it’s a Paramount shill thread
Layoffs can’t come soon enough.
Two more weeks! Then Daddy Zaslav will pull the beads out of your butt right?
Uh oh, Paramount’s janny has entered the thread.
All my trans friends love it for its daring LGBTQ rep!
It’s time to stop.
I want to watch Mariner get stretched out by BBC (Big Boimler wiener)
No, but the egregious writing would fit in in a cartoon considering how shitty it is. I understand why someone that hates modern trek would find lower decks fine, they think it is a bit of fun when it actually is completely canon and all the shit is supposed to be actually happening, then it should really piss off any star trek fan
only nerds care about trivial shit like “canon”
STAR TREK
This. The star wars sequels are canon and no one in their right mind would care otherwise
>The star wars sequels are canon
So star trek fans, you fricking moron.
"Man, only nerds care about grammar in books"
This shit is made for the kind of fan who doesn’t care, only consumes.
Oh look another meme ruined by libshits
Here is the original which is actually funny:
He turns himself into a pickle! XD
>sheboon protagonist
The israelites who made it let you know it's bad from the thumbnail. It's like israelite israelite Abraham revealing the niggest under the stormtrooper helmet, you immediately knew you would never watch another "star wars" movie after the israeli buyout.
I enjoyed it, the wokeshit wasn't too obtuse and I enjoyed all the star trek references and the star trek plot layout, it felt like star trek
in b4 "hahah, you are pointing out people who openly admit they put woke into TV& Film are putting woke into TV& Film you are paranoid incel chud"
This show is for loud rootless cosmopolitans that just want to belong to something.
Kinda like how the Vandals sacked Rome.
It’s Star Trek for people who don’t like Star Trek.
How so?
>loud rootless cosmopolitans
Hey, that's the name of my Klingon acid punk band!
Frick you.
Yes, that IS the name of our first single!
Does this show do anything more than just memberberries & bodily fluids?
It's alright 6/10.
But it actually plays in the Star Trek universe, unlike all the other recent "Star Trek" shows. It's not a reboot, it's not a re-imagining. Which puts it ahead automatically.
Friendly reminder that this is an ad thread and gets paid for every hour it stays in the catalog.
I get a bonus for every (you)
Go get em Mike
I dunno. I never watched it because shills kept pushing it in all the /trek/ threads.
Star Trek: Fishmalk edition.
It's only "good" if you're a neurotypical.
No. Mike Stoklasa just has awful taste (like usual). This is the same man that watched Modern Simpsons.
>Personally, I think Discovery is brilliant.
>When you have somebody online telling you in the same breath that your animation style is something they’ve seen before but they also are draping themselves in anime and love anime. Everybody’s kind of an armchair animation expert.
>All these people think there’s a guy in like a green-brimmed visor sitting at CBS and being like “You know how we can make money? Let’s make it The Simpson or the Rick and Morty but put them in a Star Trek.”
>No, it’s actually the opposite. CBS does not want to frick with Star Trek. They know what Star Trek fans like, you know. It has to have a really good reason why it’s that way.
>I don’t think anyone wants to watch made to order TV. That’s why we’re fighting AI.
>I’m flattered by Rick and Morty comparison because Rick and Morty is fricking awesome.
>We’re already making a good animated comedic nineties era Star Trek show. It never came to my mind that I should also challenge the audience into a new style of animation that they’ve never seen before.
>I super don’t care. People are gonna complain no matter what on the internet, people are gonna be upset. Guess they’re just shitting on everything.
>These people on the internet think they know what’s going. Keep track of fricking animated ranking pips, you pieces of shit. You know how fricking hard it is?
>We’re making this show for me. The second the show makes me love it that’s when it’s ready for everyone else to see. I hate to tell you this but I’m not making this show for you, I’m making this show for me.
Kind of turns into complete seethe by the end there.
The whole interview is just seething and insecurity.
?si=k8Tu1JRcT5OAJxID
Definitely the kind of person who would spend hours online defending his shitty show lmao
>Looks a borderline Downie.
Now it all makes sense.
Lmao why are gen Xers so fricked?
>I'm not making this for YOU, it's for ME!
and then they get on Twitter and fight with everyone. They can't keep it together. How come boomers could?
They're ascended Boomers that hate any form of sincerity.
Millennials and Gen Xers live in a perpetual state of agitation. Everything must be a battlefield, every piece of media must be a statement. They get off on pissing people off.
Why? Frick if I know. Lack of quality father figures? Diet? Growing up in objectively the best times in history?
>Everything must be a battlefield,
Is that how you see the world?
No, I think media should be uplifting and as apolitical as possible.
Doesn't seem that way.
bump
>Lmao why are gen Xers so fricked?
You know how Millenials and Zoomers complain about how Boomers fricked them in opportunity, while constantly berating them for not working hard enough etc etc etc?
Imagine being on the receiving end of that when they're still young-ish and full of cocaine and Cold War propaganda.
It messes you up.
>they also are draping themselves in anime and love anime.
holy seethe lmao. some kawaii ugu~ moe homosexual musteve really gotten to him. animechads stay winning.
>>All these people think there’s a guy in like a green-brimmed visor sitting at CBS and being like “You know how we can make money? Let’s make it The Simpson or the Rick and Morty but put them in a Star Trek.”
That is exactly what I think happened, yes.
Those shitty normies only go to reddit
It's alright. Mike admitting he enjoys it really sent haters into meltdown, which will never not be kino.
Keep switching those IPs.
Is that what you do?
>This bloated pollock said it was good, so it must be good!
Mikes gotta stick together
heh
Remember when Disney locked away 50 finished episodes of a Star Wars adult animated sitcom because they feared it would permanently destroy the brand’s reputation?
This is what happened to Star Trek.
Looks like they should've unlocked. Would've been better than what we got.
>Star Wars adult animated sitcom
Would unironically watch this over anything we got since Disney bought Lucasfilm.
>Your Hero loathes you.
Its really not bad if you can bring yourself to enjoy a comedy show that was made by people that actually seem to enjoy Star Trek.
>made by people that actually seem to enjoy Star Trek
You know no one believes this marketing spiel, right?
I mean, they at least have someone on board that has watched Trek. I see more acknowledgement and references to TOS, TNG, DS9 and Voyager in lower decks than everything since Voyager combined. I dont really know how broken and cynical you have to be to pretend my statement isn't accurate when all facts point the other direction.
It's fricking clown shoes that's why.
>that has watched Trek
Reading Memory Alpha is not accomplishment. The show is a generic woke adult cartoon with lazy memberberries.
Mike Stoklasa disagrees, and he's literally the biggest Trek fan alive.
>Appealing to authority
Fricking ick.
His opinion matters most.
>Baah, Baah~
The same Mike Stoklasa who praised Picard S3, The Force Awakens, and The Rise of Skywalker?
He was right about all of those except for TRoS, which you made up. I know since I saw that review.
>generic woke adult cartoon with lazy memberberries.
Are you capable of a single coherent thought that isn't a string of tired memes?
Every adjective I’ve used is correct and you know this since you watch this shite. Or maybe you don’t and you just repeat the marketing script like a mindless drone.
Contrary to your belief you
Eh if anything they backpedaled a bit too hard since it seems like it was always in the cards for Mariner to be revealed as getting in her own way too often judging by how S1 ended, which obviously couldn't have been the result of fan feedback that quickly. I appreciated her sarcasm and they made her too nice over the seasons.
Millennial writers don’t listen to feedback. They double down.
We're heckin' Trekin' y'all~
I TURNED MYSELF INTO A STAR TREK SHOW MORTY
I'M LOWER DECKS
>Yeah this guy looks like he knows what he's talking about.
Basically, I have no respect for anyone who continued watching this after it became a lesbian romcom. The references were quaint at first but the show quickly pulled the rug and revealed what it really is.
You’re either paid shills or straight-up troons.
A friendly reminder that the hit series Star Trek: Lower Decks will be back this Fall with an all new S05.
And Mike bought a suit.
Sounds good, hoping for S6 as well.
Pakled looking motherfricker.
Speaking of Star Trek: Lower Decks, from this weekend's Trek Talks, the LOW SNW had this fan favorite, but it was lost in the edit:
> Kathryn Lyn “Bill and I had an animated sehlat at the end… We’ve spent the last year trying to get a Sehlat back into Strange New Worlds.”
Also, there was a R rated version with Mariner talking extra filthy about Spock.
Frick off Mike
LD does remind me of that Tampon in a Tea Cup fade.
You like thinking about tampons, do you?
It is in LD wheelhouse of bodily fluids.
You shouldn't even know what a tampon is. And yet you do. Curious.
Don't play coy, We both know you aren't smart enough for that.
Coy? Like the fish? Strange that you think about those AND tampons. Very curious.
Remember when Trek was able to be funny without constant swearing and references to genetalia?
This scene from S3 of TNG was able to use the personalities of both Picard and Data, while being genuinely funny and keeping a PG rating. And the whole show was full of moments like this.
And then DS9 ruined it with this garbage.
Crazy how this is more woke than anything we've ever seen before or since in Trek.
>A Tribble saved Kirk!
>HOAK! HOAK! HOAK!
You just know Mike fricked past-out chicks at college parties.
They liked JJ Trek
No it's pretty bad
>actual LGBT shilling
Is this what this board is now?
Hail Zion!
yes i am an LGBT shill. I am paid by Big Heteroflexibility for everyone I convert, it's like carbon credits.
It’s Monday and Paramount shills started their shift. Nothing about this thread is organic in the slightest. Shills glow because they must be politically correct.
>*inarticulate autstic noises*
Oh well. Anyway, look forward to another 50 quality episodes of New Trek this year, you mongoloid Black person.
Don't you have some coffee to fetch?
The only good nutrek is Prodigy. Strange New World definitely jumped the shark.
>jumps the shark only 20 episodes in
Why is this every modern show
It's the writers. It's not like they are running with Harlan Ellison these days.
Ladies (male) and gentlemen, this is why no one wants to talk about Star Trek on this board anymore. Paramount employees ruined this site.
>Plot Twist: the shills are from rival studios trying to sabotage Paramount IPs
>Paramount pays toadies to demoralize genuine fans.
This is the worst timeline.
>ENT
This is a paramount shill, no true fan likes that trash.
Wrong.
Or they're all from Portland.
>You are utterly forever alone in your hate crusade
Shitlibs are the most hateful group out there.
Remember when Star Trek was about fun space adventures and not just flavor-of-the-week political ideologies?
Good days.
There will come a day when NuTrek stops being made and everyone will just forget about it overnight.
> There will come a day when NuTrek stops being made!!! *screams*
50 count them 50 all new episodes of New Trek this year. And nothing you do can stop that.
And I won’t be watchin’.
>not letting this thread die with zero replies
We need to do better, Cinemaphile.
Things were real quiet for a while. What made Paramount decide to astroturf here again?
Meds pls
They work in shifts when they're not giving their bosses blowies.
never change
Paramount just announced a whole batch of new projects that will never get made in a desperate attempt to drive up value.
It didn’t work. Paramount+ is still losing money, no one watches NuTrek, and the stock is in the dumpster.
discord raid
nice try but Paramount Global uses MS Teams not Slack or Discord
I did some image lookups in the archive and surprise, surprise, we have shills who haven’t been active since 2022. Why a wonderful coincidence that they all showed up for this thread!
Anon seek help
>I did some image lookups in the archive and surprise, surprise, we have shills who haven’t been active since 2022.
yo thumbman; make Levy say this exact line, updated for year, in the next season of Decks
I hate this fricking art style
People with taste should, yes.
you're posting on a site which has daily posts about andy sixx's shit logs
do not lecture anyone about taste
>lower drecks is on par with literal feces
feces is important for agriculture
complaining does not help a civilization grow
But le quirky black lesbo does?
>I did some image lookups in the archive!!! *heavy breathing*
Yeah, that isn't at all sad.
You know what’s sad? You spending 18 hours every day refreshing Cinemaphile looking for Star Trek threads.
if you click the checkbox it refreshes itself, bro
>You know what’s sad?!!!!
"Yeah. Looking up images in the Archive. That's pretty sad."
Deflecting is also pretty sad.
on the left and McMahan on the right with the savagery
It’s better than what I saw from discovery and Picard, so I’ll give it that. I wouldn’t say it’s good, but it’s not bad. It’s just not what I’m looking for from Star Trek personally
They always make it too obvious when it's a Discord raid.
This whole thread exists because one anon got assmad when he and his shitty lesbian toon got BTFO by Based Shatner yesterday.
>Based Shatner
He's one of the good ones.
There's a certain discord where mentioning their names gets you instabanned here it's really odd makes you think huh
I find this hard to believe.
You seem to be getting defensive over it. It's the one with CM and MC in it, saying their names has got me instabanned before
You mean ClingingMars and MentalCrash? Who cares about them? This isn't your homosexual general.
>jumps on the defense right away
The live action is going to be ruined by casting an ugly 3d black girl. If I was black I'd boycott that shit.
>Be honest with me. Is Star Trek Lower Decks as good as they say?
I ignore Tumblr trannies and their views.
Decent Star Trek love letter. Shitty, unfunny cartoon.
This episode of Bluey is called "Encounter at Furpoint."
When do I get put at the helm of LD to fix it?
