>kept the look >made the film feel more like a comic book than any movie before or since >actually follows Hulks power of "if you beat him up, he only gets tougher" >not jobbed out like a homosexual to Thanos and other Marvel characters
this Hulk would've ripped Thanos purple dick and whipped him to death with it
>made the film feel more like a comic book than any movie before or since
I feel like Raimi's spiderman's did this better without it feeling like a gimmick
Yeah its pretty dumb. Hes basically always the hulk but he has the mind of Bruce banner now. Some gay will probably defend it because it happened in some comics but its still dumb as frick

I feel like the main draw to hulk is the fact that he hates being the hulk and its basically uncontrollable for the most part. I started reading immoral hulk and I think it captures the character perfectly, while also being kino

I liked the Cronbergian transformations & How nasty Hulk is, It's like he became his abusive father.
Wow, it's better than I remember. Sure, in 2022 it definitely looks and has tropes of an early 2000's movie, but the CGI for Hulk is not bad at all and the comic book style frames are utterly kino.
I got stuck in the beginning of the game too for like a year, I think it was against the electrical guy, but my brother bought one of those CHEAT CODES books from a book fair and after using cheats the game got a lot more fun
Damn, I forgot how much I miss cheat codes.
I used to get those cheat books once a year, the "official" yearly release that had a bunch of popular games in it.
Had a bunch for Hulk Ultimate Destruction, I think it was called, and it blew my mind that I input a cheat for Australian flag shorts.
Fair warning, it'll probably run like ass due to PS2 emulation.
If it makes it a hassle to play comfortably, the Gamecube version is just fine and will run a lot better.
>jump up in the air, pause for a second, then rush down and punch the ground >(SOLDIER VOICE) "He's showing off!" >choke slam soldier >6 HITS - ENRAGED
There is literally a one-to-one ratio of stupid bullshit to absolutely genius kino.
Some parts are so miscalculated and ill conceived that you roll your eyes inside out...then the very next scene is fricking perfection that inspires the genre for years afterwards.
For any Cinemaphile types that reads this and needs context, She-Hulk, especially in the series written and illustrated by John Byrne, was like a proto-Deadpool; often speaking to the readers or even directly to Byrne himself. She'd turn and tear pages from the comic and all that meta 4th wall stuff.
It is. Criminally underrated. CGI still holds up surprisingly well. Lee understood the source material and doubled down on it, from Banner's dark psychological journey, to the vibrant shots and comic book panels. Hulk was before its time, coming in a good few years before wanted dark, gritty, disturbing comic books movies.
People aren't being contrarian just for the fun of it though, people are being contrarian because they've been deprived of a good hulk story for so long they are looking backwards and seeing value in things they didnt appreciate before
incredible hulk is basically non canon in terms of characters >banner acts completely different with mark ruffalo >thunderbolt ross from civil war and next movies acts like the incredible hulk never happened
That's too bad, I liked it. Norton played a good tortured Bruce, a person not able to just shrug off turning into a monster and desperate to cure himself.
Sucks how he didn't stay on. I didn't understand why he wanted to become normal as a kid because I thought he was awesome, but I still loved it. They didn't even try to pick up the shit they established with Incredible either, there's no scene where Banner and Ross are in the room together either in tense silence or borderline arguing about the shit that went down.
If we're discussing Hulkino in this thread, I'd like to throw my hat in the ring and recommend this little 37-min animated diddy. >wolverine getting his ass beat >deadpool, sabretooth, etc getting rekt by green man too >soundtrack is great >oh did i mention blood aplenty >iconic voices of Fred Tatasciore as Hulk and Steven Blum as Wolverine
imagine watching this 3d nonsense. most ordinary movies are terrible, let alone capeshit.
i don't think i've ever seen a truly good hollywood movie. they're all either meaningless or subversive in some roundabout way. it doesn't matter how good the production values are if the movie doesn't have a decent message and communicates it clearly.
i'll level with you anon, i think most film analysis is bs. why should anyone have to grasp at straws to ascertain the meaning of a film? shouldn't it be clear enough? if it isn't, then what use is the film? and if the meaning is subversive, then the film is worse than useless.
Mix of live action with cgi instead of full cgi, perfect example being the initial transformation at the lab. Also better physics, much better physics. You can feel the weight and momentum of Hulk in pretty much every scene. Ang Lee did the motion cap by himself he probably experimented a lot and now its by the numbers "film school"+indian 3d artists shit
>kept the look

How does it hold up? I might rewatch it.
when it came out, it got shit on because of its length
but yeah, the dog scene is pretty bad. otherwise its kino
This hulk would smoke nu hulk
lmao this manlet hulk?
Yeah its pretty dumb. Hes basically always the hulk but he has the mind of Bruce banner now. Some gay will probably defend it because it happened in some comics but its still dumb as frick

>Looks like green Adam Carolla
>Acts like green Jimmy Kimmel
Ziggy zoggy Ziggy zooggy goy goy goy
God I miss how scary hulk used to be. If this hulk punched you, you'd just turn into a red mist
>people hated this movie for being true to the source material and medium it came from
I hate this world
We didnt realise how good we had it, how could we?
Wow, it's better than I remember. Sure, in 2022 it definitely looks and has tropes of an early 2000's movie, but the CGI for Hulk is not bad at all and the comic book style frames are utterly kino.
Wow you can feel the destruction way more intensely than MCU trash
forgot how scary Hulk actually was
frick ~~*S.Ö.Y.hulk*~~
almost peak Connely was also a big plus
God he's so fricking mad, it's glorious.
Way better than you remember it. Approach it as an actual movie, not capeshit.
One of the best comic book inspired movies. Top 5 for sure and a great pleb filter.
>Approach it as an actual movie, not capeshit.
Like the first 2 Superman movies.
Its honestly great, both Hulk films have aged great
I played the shit out of the tie-in game
I always got stuck on the Bruce stealth mission early on.
All I wanted to do was smash things, not learn how to hide.
I got stuck in the beginning of the game too for like a year, I think it was against the electrical guy, but my brother bought one of those CHEAT CODES books from a book fair and after using cheats the game got a lot more fun

Frick im going to have to emulate it now. You guys are brining back fond memories
Fair warning, it'll probably run like ass due to PS2 emulation.
If it makes it a hassle to play comfortably, the Gamecube version is just fine and will run a lot better.
good point. Dolphin is way better than PlayStation emulation
I tried to replay this recently and it ducking sucks because you cant move the camera
Best hulk game coming through queer fricking shits
It's literally the sequel.
A game so good they reskinned and rereleased it a couple times.
Damn this looks rad
Run up a building, do an elbow drop that's feels like a bomb going off. Yup it was awesome.
for me, its ultimate destruction
>jump up in the air, pause for a second, then rush down and punch the ground
>(SOLDIER VOICE) "He's showing off!"
>choke slam soldier
>6 HITS - ENRAGED
I love how bestial & childlike he is.
That’s not a high bar considering Marvel won’t let Hulk be Hulk anymore because white men bad
What do you mean?
>Blocks your path
>DUDE I WAS MOLESTED GRRR LMAO
Only men with daddy issues can appreciate this kino. The final battle is the most cathartic shit I've experienced.
I literally screamed "FRICK YOU, DAD!" at a packed theater. Everyone cheered.
The og capeshit fr fr nofap
>hits himself in the balls while raging
>the split panel comicbook aesthetic
>the lightning sequence
Undeniable kino
Dude this looks fricking amazing
It's mythical as frick!
It just has style, personality. It doesnt feel like DIsney product 100000000000
It's much better with sound
Hulk VS the US military in the desert also kicks ass, as does Hulk learning he doesn't need to run everywhere because he can jump good.
There is literally a one-to-one ratio of stupid bullshit to absolutely genius kino.
Some parts are so miscalculated and ill conceived that you roll your eyes inside out...then the very next scene is fricking perfection that inspires the genre for years afterwards.
wait, this doesnt look bad
It's because the whole sequence is in darkness. He looks way less impressive if there's any light on him. He looked far better in Incredible Hulk.
the usual trick
Incredible Hulk also made the smart choice of having him be the Hulk mostly at night to make it look more impressive and menacing.
Ah to be young again.
We never got chad Merged Hulk.
This was 2003, back when SOUL existed
CGI still holds up in my opinion, its at least serviceable
Its god SOUL, thats all that matters
It looks miles better than she hulk
You think you can live with that? Take it. TAKEEEEEE IT AAAAAAAAAAAAALL!!!
I love vibration of Hulk's voice.
We will never be graced with such capekino again
What's funny is I used to watch this movie with my dad in 2004 and then me and my siblings ended up in foster care because my dad was abusive
So was my dad but I didn't get to leave. He certainly wouldn't watch the Hulk with me either lol
that room probably smells so fricking horrible what the frick
>Implying Hulk's harem isn't perfumed and scented to appeal to his tastes, coupled with the stench of passion and sweat.
gay
Remember when he fights the giant dogs and punches one of them in the balls like 50 times
i see a lot of dogs who are violent due to socioeconomic factors in that clip.
The video game was better
Contrarians: The Thread
you can say ruffalo is a gay and all but 03 its worse and crap
Get out of here!
>everyone who disagrees with the majority is just a contrarian
People aren't being contrarian just for the fun of it though, people are being contrarian because they've been deprived of a good hulk story for so long they are looking backwards and seeing value in things they didnt appreciate before
03 has the most beautiful woman in the world in it. can any ruffalo hulk movie claim the same?
MCUcks are pathetics. Worshipping shit SHrulk, shit Iron Manlet Jr, new Blade and Redditnski Richard. GOTG is the only good MCU movie.
The Lloyd Kaufman cameo is a big reason why.
Luckily I don't think Jim will be the permanent Reed Richards moving forward
Does Eric Bana even have a career these days?
Baby face hulk want passy?
Why did hulk do this to San Transisco? Is hulk homophobic??
How come Ruffalo's Hulk never had a Betty? They tried to do that weird thing with Black Widow instead for some reason.
Liv Tyler probably wouldn't return
>expecting a strong straight non-interracial relationship in current marvel
They started to pair him with Black Widow.
she's infertile, anon
He's got gamma-irradiated jizz, who cares
so ruffalo could simp for any b***h that came along, like a true incel
incredible hulk is basically non canon in terms of characters
>banner acts completely different with mark ruffalo
>thunderbolt ross from civil war and next movies acts like the incredible hulk never happened
even blonsky acts different in she-hulk trailers
That's too bad, I liked it. Norton played a good tortured Bruce, a person not able to just shrug off turning into a monster and desperate to cure himself.

if only cal dodd was wolverine... holy shit it would have been 10/10
true
>Marvel CGI has gotten so bad in recent years that 2003 CGI is comparable
Where did we go wrong?
Does Ruffalo hulk ever make these giant leaps in the movies? It was cool as frick
frick no, all his fight scenes seemed more goofy if anything
He just wallruns.
in the first avengers movie and sort of the second one. after that he was b***h mode.
He did at the end of ragnarok
I genuinely consider it the best Marvel movie. So of course it was panned and now we're drowing in souless Disney sewage.
The 2nd film wasn't really that good.
This a good gag though. Plus any sane person watched it for sexy Brazilian chick.
>This a good gag though.
No it's not.
>Plus any sane person watched it for sexy Brazilian chick.
She's in film for 10 seconds.
>She's in film for 10 seconds.
More than enough *wink, wink*

not a counterargument. you people can't do a damned thing except offer your boilerplate quips and stock responses.
Go watch a Jodorowsky film
i'll level with you anon, i think most film analysis is bs. why should anyone have to grasp at straws to ascertain the meaning of a film? shouldn't it be clear enough? if it isn't, then what use is the film? and if the meaning is subversive, then the film is worse than useless.
Now THIS is a contrarian
cont.
the artform is meaningless if the artist is always a self-serving bastard.
Man you'd make a killing writing fortune cookies.
i predict a sinkhole to the center of the earth will give way under your car tomorrow.
I liked how unapologetically green he is in Ang Lee's Hull, he's really popping off the screen.
he popped off fr fr
For me, its the kino comic book style transitions
How the ACTUAL FRICK does the CG from this crappy 2003 movie blow the best effects modern Hollywood can muster out of the fricking water? How?
Mix of live action with cgi instead of full cgi, perfect example being the initial transformation at the lab. Also better physics, much better physics. The best Hulk is OG Islands of Adventure ride queue Hulk before that disgusting refurbishment washed the place of 90s soul
