The manga had fun art and a good premise but the story is pretty lame especially after the first volume.
Plus I never cared for any of the characters that were introduced after the first book.
Norton could probably deliver if he had something decent to work with but the script and rodriguez would just frick it up. The whole thing is an unsalvageable trainwreck already.
Kishiro is bizarrely focused on motorball. There's an interview out there where he says that he doesn't really care about alita he just wants motorball to get a movie adaption.
I'd find that strange cause what set him apart from other authors was that he didn't fall back on tourneys as a backdrop as much. There's Roller Derby and then the ZOTT which is so wacky and has stuff going on on the sidelines it doesn't even feel like an arena arch.
Kishiro is just a man. He reads sci-fi and adapts it into his story. He does fall into the tourney trap because it's easy money. He sold his movie rights and allowed that ungodly abomination to be produced because he fricked up in the contract somewhere and didn't get enough control. Which is odd because he was so anal about video game adaptions in the 90s.
The movie was doomed from the start. This needed camerons full attention to make it work it's not a project you can handball to a beaner hack who doesn't know wtf is going on.
The movie only covers about 5% of a story that has been running for 30 years new and that 5% got butchered so it doesn't fit with the bigger picture anymore.
Earth is basically irrelevant it's just a resource farm for the city in the sky and even that city is irrelevant to the greater setting. The characters in the story don't even get into the "real world" until they get up onto the orbital ring.
To do the world justice you'd need more than a trilogy of movies so your actress playing the cute young heroine would be in her 40's towards the end this movie was doomed from the start.
not really. It' motion capture so she's going to move like a 40+ year old woman and her voice and mannerisms will be those of a 40+ year old trying to look and sound young. Frick no. Boner poison.
It depends. Gally is only hot for the first few books of new order, then the art style changes so you're going to be disappointed there.
Last order is whee the series goes from a story about earth to a story about the solar system so there's a lot of cool world building.
last order becomes way more shonen than gritty 80's cyberpunk, and mars chronicles is hard to describe, but they're definitely at least 4/5 manga compared to the 5/5 original
I don’t remember any of the Mars stuff in the original manga (never read the follow up books after the author got psychological help).
Are there people on Mars?
>I don’t remember any of the Mars stuff in the original manga
Apparently you didn't read it. The mars stuff was pretty obvious during the motorball arc.
I read it a long time. I don’t remember there being any people on Mars
I just remember the flying city, the trash city and the desert parts outside the trash city with some smaller towns
>Watch movie >It's cute >Want to learn more about the world and the war with the Martians and shit >Decide to read the mango >It's exactly the same as the movie, except with even more dumb sportsball shit
Really not sure how to feel about this.
alitasisters... sequel never ever....
Good. the story was already trashed beyond repair in the first movie it would only get worse from there
Incorrect and false.

>better than tranime
thats not much
mmhhmmmm alita mhmmm so cute and mhmmm mhmm funny
of course an itoddler would be shit at trolling
No
Nova is such a weird character there's nothing else like him
Shame. Norton playing Nova would've been kino even if he was bowdlerized in live action

You can see bits of Cinemaphile UI in this pic. You should have spent more hours in paint.
I liked it
the only film in recent years that gave me the feeling I had when watching an original blockbuster as a teenager
>read manga
>this is an interesting story line
>wait let’s just stop to go on for 500 pages about some dumb ass roller derby game
The roller derby isn't even in the manga you homosexual
What?!
There's even spinoff grafic novel focusing entirely on a Roller Derby racer.

He fricked up. Bad. He's only human.
reminder that mc is a tumor
new alita is now a chip
That was what? 10 years ago?
her brain is a chip but her body is still a tumor
arguably the wierdest character assassination of all times.

Alita was cgi anyways so they could have kept her the same age for the entire series
not really. It' motion capture so she's going to move like a 40+ year old woman and her voice and mannerisms will be those of a 40+ year old trying to look and sound young. Frick no. Boner poison.
Did the actress really do a one finger hand stand while doing a split in real life ?
I liked the original series. Are the follow up series worth reading ,??
It depends. Gally is only hot for the first few books of new order, then the art style changes so you're going to be disappointed there.

I haven't seen this image before. I like it. I will watch your film.
Still the most accurate Alita adaptation
I don’t remember any of the Mars stuff in the original manga (never read the follow up books after the author got psychological help).
Are there people on Mars?
Yea, there's the martian kingdom and like a dozen other factions fighting for it. martian kingdom got established by nazis who fled earth.
>I don’t remember any of the Mars stuff in the original manga

when alita gf ?
>gf takes off mask
>She's a 35 yo feminist sjw beaner
Not comfy.
>he can't separate character from actor
>he has no standards and will accept waifu played by middle aged mexican trash
stay gay
dont care, shes cute
i will fix her
>i will fix her
You can't make her not mexican or not old or not fricking moronic. You can't fix her anon.
i can make her non feminist
warm snuggly gf
>Watch movie
>It's cute

That sports ball thing eats up so much fricking time.
Pretty much every character introduced post the first arc also sucks.
The manga didn't even have any CGI. Checkmate weebs.
