It's still wishy washy enough that Taeshi doesn't have to officially change her stance one way or the other. Just like how the Paulo Lucy sex scene neglects to show what sex act they did.
>He was there as my only company! >Please ignore the fact I literally ghosted you and refused to talk about anything that isn't my work with you when I didn't
Given the way Mike's ignoring/rewriting Lucy's abysmal frickery, I think we can safely conclude he is an overemotional moron who's trained himself to ignore all the shitty things other people inflict upon him the moment they show a hint of affection. If BCB characters were all human, Mike would still be acting like an abused dog.
>my age
So she's changed her mind on the whole "creepy age difference" thing she wanted to push as excuse so her cult ate the separation up without hesitation?
Of course she did. When Taeshi first talked about the age difference on the Discord, everyone reacted with the normal reaction of "hey, that's fricked up, isn't it? Sandy's been manipulated or groomed, that makes her a victim, not a cheater". Someone had posted a screenshot of the convo forever ago in a past thread.
Naturally, Taeshi doesn't want Sandy to be sympathetic or have any complications other than a black and white abuser+victim, so...

I thought Tae said Francis was like 19/20, which is still a problem but I could see why Sandy would think he's "her age", esp if she's 17 by now. But yeah it's still weird that the comic is just glazing over how Sandy was technically groomed.
b***h you're either begging what is effectively your simp to take you back or you're justifying your actions and explaining why it's reasonable, you can't have it both ways.
I don't know if knowing the outcome of this conversation is more frustrating than if we didn't know the outcome and Mike decided to take her back.
This is really stretching the shit out of how much of a limp noodle Mike is holy shit. How in the Hell is Mike gonna justify going back with her? This is doing more damage than good, and showing Mike constantly thinking about Lucy doesn't help.
ANY OTHER 16 year old, or anyone at any age, would have just hung up by now, or at the very least NOT gotten back with her. Especially since Mike just reconnected with Lucy, someone he really likes.
I mean, I wanted the phone call but this version of it is making Mike's decision REALLY hard to understand. We're only halfway through, though, so we shall see.
>Mike just reconnected with Lucy, someone he really likes
This begs the question of just *why* Mike likes Lucy, seeing as she's devolved as a person in almost every way. But accepting that he's got terrible taste and his creator does not understand how likeability works, here's a charitable interpretation: Mike is stupidly drawing parallels between himself and Sandy because he's got an overactive sense of empathy and tends to blame himself for everything (traits which Taeshi conveniently forgot about for half a fricking decade). So Lucy is his Francis, i.e. relatable and convenient but ultimately not a "real" romantic interest--which frankly does make a lot of sense given her past and present bad behavior toward Mike. She was a stand-in for Sandy early on and now Mike thinks he never really stopped using her as such. Meanwhile Sandy is sobbing about how much she needs Mike in her life because he's always been her one true bla bla bla you get the point. It is, unfortunately, a very classic Mike move to take Sandy back rather than put her through the kind of suffering he's intimately familiar with.
>Especially since Mike just reconnected with Lucy, someone he really likes.
I still don't know why he would outside of his low self esteem and Taeshi trying to push this busted ship as hard as possible.
Eternal Flame played out horribly but Lucy just getting Mike back despite being nothing but an Eternal c**t to him since she came back would have been just as bad, if not worse.
This mini chapter or whatever it's supposed to be is painful to read i'll tell ya that much. The whole comic is suffering at this point. You can tell the comic is something else when you dislike both of the main characters.
Regarding this Mike x Lucy shit, the pathway for the comic to end should've started in Eternal Flame. Should've shown Mike finally growing some much needed backbone and telling her to frick off, and him and lucy starting to reconnect with eachother. They wouldn't immediately jump into each other arms, though; Lucy would first need to stop being a b***h, and Mike would need to stop being a pussy. AFTER they were shown to overcome their own shit, THEN they'd get together for good, maybe with some tease here and there of the old times, but as better persons.
Anything is better then this. It's irredemeable at this point.
Just please don't let it end in some pseudo artsy dramatic tone, is all i ask.
Yeah man, that about sums it up. There's an AU fanfic called Scarf & Bow where Mike just hangs up on Sandy and gets with Lucy instead if you're interested.
I am, but at the same time it'll just be a sad reminder of how much better the comic could've been
"I dumped him but now I'll tell you exactly how he was a great boyfriend and why I decided to cheat on you"
Man, i was re-reading eternal flame, and it's just pathetic how sandy says she cheated on him, and mike just goes 'oh haha its my fault i was a bad bf'. Jesus christ, it's just eternal pain on this comic, with no decent ending on sight.
I'm telling you, if things were to happen like i said in

, it's not like the comic would iimmediately end and all, there would still be several updates before the actual ending.
I say this because i understand that this might be the main source of income for taeshi and suitcase. But still, even if the series ended, there's nothing stopping them from creating other stories on the same universe, with other characters, or doing side stories from other characters.
By Eternal Flame MikeXLucy was already unsalvageable. Post-return Lucy came across as manipulative and cruel thanks to her dunking on Mike, Sue, Daisy, etc. And Mike both resented her and felt intense guilt over her suicide attempt.
Their interaction in Eternal Flame came across as desperate, unhealthy, and rushed even without the later context of Mike getting back with Sandy.
Honestly MikeXLucy was never particularly viable, for all the points and reasons that December hammered home.
>By Eternal Flame MikeXLucy was already unsalvageable
Ye, it's a bit weird that taeshi considers lucy trying to kill herself over what mike did something they can just get over but mike taking back his girlfriend is supposed to be this super awful thing mike's beating himself up over.
It seems that Taeshi does not assign gravity to events that take place outside of her own tiny bubble of personal experience. Lucy getting shipped off to the loony bin? A super big deal that colors her entire character afterward. The suicide attempt? Eh, Taeshi never tried to kill herself, so who cares lol. Sandy > Lucy? Cue nuclear meltdown both in and outside of the comic.
That's a decent point. My assumption was that the suicide attempt and surrounding arcs were good, but dark. So now Taeshi's trying to steer the comic back towards generic-slice-of-life-anime-inspired fluff, she can't figure out how to do it without basically burying all the serious shit and pretending it didn't happen. Hence the suicide fizzle with Paulo and the schizophrenic tone.
Is 17 and 19 really that bad? It's only weird because one of them is still in high school but Sandy doesn't live a normal school life at this point anyway
I don't personally think it's crazy, but what's crazier to me is that Taeshi just left it in the air. "Oh he's supposed to be 19/20", either a vaguely older teen or a young adult, it pisses me for some reason. It makes me go "make up your mind if this is about teens or if you're bringing back the return of more evil adults".
I think Francis was originally supposed to be 20, but then people started pointing out how it was a bit predatory for a young adult to engage in a relationship with an underage girl. Or an inexperienced girl if 17 is the age of consent wherever Sandy is. So they started sympathizing with Sandy and saying it wasn't entirely her fault because she was groomed.
Since Sandy = Golidie, Taeshi can't have people defending Sandy or feeling sorry for her. So I think Francis' age is going to be retconned or ignored so it seems like they were exactly the same age. Therefore, Sandy willingly hooked up with him and was totally in control of her actions. Isn't she so terrible for cheating on Mike without potential being manipulated or taken advantage of?
Well Sandy IS in an industry where grooming would be very common. If Francis did knowingly do it then it wouldn't be hard to believe. especially either their ages being close
Because she's lazy. Ironically, knowing she could not fall back on the usual glitzy bullshit to spruce up her half-assed work appears to have resurrected some ancient artistic knowledge long thought lost.
I don't know why Tae didn't make Francis another kid model that was in Sandy's social circle. I guess she didn't anticipate people being worried that she was dating an adult.
wait how old is she? isnt the guy suppossed to be her hair dresser or something? wouldnt that be hiring someone underage?
In many states you can hire people under 18. Where I live the minimum age is 14.
im not a lawyer but is that still legal when travelling to another state
Hes like 19 or 20 or so. She's 17
i think it's a retcon. i think that they got too much shit in the discord for him being 20 that they changed it to them being around the same age.
It's still wishy washy enough that Taeshi doesn't have to officially change her stance one way or the other. Just like how the Paulo Lucy sex scene neglects to show what sex act they did.
>why didn't BCB turn into porn bros its not fair!
This is your brain on coom
I think he means more like, it's unclear if they did actual sex, or just made out with eachother. I don't think it really matters though
That's some serious projection on your part
Hes a newbie hairdresser that just started out there. Doesn't have to be that much older than her
>He was there as my only company!
>Please ignore the fact I literally ghosted you and refused to talk about anything that isn't my work with you when I didn't

Read this comic.
But only here in Cinemaphile so Taeshi doesn't get any ad revenue

When do they not?

Suitcase and Taeshi must be around 40 now. Shit. Time flies. 40 and still writing about teenage cats throwing b***hfits.
Give it two years and sandy will become an abuse victim
I thought Tae said Francis was like 19/20, which is still a problem but I could see why Sandy would think he's "her age", esp if she's 17 by now. But yeah it's still weird that the comic is just glazing over how Sandy was technically groomed.

Well he was hired to groom her, he just wanted a little overtime.
Forgot pic related.

More or less, he just wants to go back to the way things were before Sandy came and ruined the story.
If that were the case, Mike would just keep making out with Lucy
Which is clearly what he wants
obviously doesn't want it that much since he chose to be a cuck instead
Why?
>Especially since Mike just reconnected with Lucy, someone he really likes.

And continued to act like a self-righteous c**t right after, so clearly she meant little to none of it.

Taeshi shares her name with another author who writes about crossdressing.
>another
???
There's more than one person with the same name I know it's mindblowing right.
Don't play silly buggers with me you know what I meant.

It's bad to the Twitter crowd that Taeshi foolishly courted, which is all that practically matters.
Worst decision. Comic surely took a turn for the worse ever since.
I don't personally think it's crazy, but what's crazier to me is that Taeshi just left it in the air. Taeshi wants to pretend she's not writing Sandy as the second coming of Hitler, but we all know the metaphorical Nazi salute is coming.
Well Sandy IS in an industry where grooming would be very common. If Francis did knowingly do it then it wouldn't be hard to believe. especially either their ages being close
You dont understand, being 2 years older means he had a power dynamic over her. She's neurodivergent and has ADHD. It was rape.
t. Patron chat
What's wrong with that? Women feel more secure when their partner has power over her. Based Sandy.
It's not the worst especially considering like Sandy, Francis probably didn't have a normal education/upbringing if he's doing models' hair at 19.
Good job as usual man. I wonder why taeshi chose not to color this chapter.
Laziness, why else.
No color = deep and artsy
Because she's lazy. Ironically, knowing she could not fall back on the usual glitzy bullshit to spruce up her half-assed work appears to have resurrected some ancient artistic knowledge long thought lost.
It's the little things
I'm not even reading this fricking chapter when is it over?
Requesting a pic of Mike selling souvenirs to the men waiting in line by Sandy's bedroom
I Banged Sandy And All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt
(And An STD)
Raw costs a few dollars extra, though
I don't know why Tae didn't make Francis another kid model that was in Sandy's social circle. I guess she didn't anticipate people being worried that she was dating an adult.
Because Taeshi doesn't think things through. And if she bounces her ideas off Suitcase, clearly he's not firing up the ol' neuron cluster either.
