>Blade would originally be the Iron Man of the supernatural corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing together properties such as Werewolf by Night, Black Knight and Ghost Rider for a Midnight Sons crossover project. However, due to conflicts with star Mahershala Ali, script rewrites and creative changes at Marvel Studios, these plans appear to have been abandoned in favor of making BLADE a R-rated standalone film with no greater connections to the MCU.
Bladebros, did we win or lose?

Logan did good enough. Strange brings more supernatural than blade
imagine Marvel if relaunched with this post-Endgame instead of phase 4
Ali seems to not want the movie to be moronic, so good for him.
Sounds like he doesn't understand what appeals to general audiences about Blade. I get being a comics purist but everyone wants hokey Snipes Blade. I do too
>Blade would originally be the Iron Man of the supernatural corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe...
Some motherfrickers are always trying to ice-skate uphill.
Disney under Iger are desperate to break into China again, this may well have been a factor.
I see people desperate to push that narrative but it never pans out once people start asking questions
If the suckheads start bunny hopping everywhere we'll know for sure.
Unironically, that be a fun premise Blade vs Vampries of different cultures.
>focus on making a good movie first
Hopefully there's no quip cringe
Some motherfrickas are always trying to ice skate uphill
Okay but there's a difference between MCU quips and action one liners. One is essentially tension breaking jokes in the middle of the story while the other enhances the characters as it usually is to show off how Chad they are. There's a difference between
>You know how I said I'd kill you last? I lied.
And
>the Shawarma gag in Avengers
One undercuts tension and one exists to elevate the characters macho badass attitude
>One undercuts tension
There was no tension left. The battle had already been won.
You know what I mean tho, like Coulson going "Oh so that's what it does.' And destroys pathos in serious scenes
Also doesn't count, as that's not the moment Coulson dies and his final scene with Fury is played completely straight.
Oh my God Anon you frickin nitpicker, fine uhhh Thor Ragnarok with the bit where they go "Oof. Now Those Foundations Are Gone. Sorry." After they try to have a speech about how New Asgard can be rebuilt from the old with Korg trying to say something and it just gets played off as a joke with the destruction of Asgard being a punchline instead of the end of Thor and Loki's home
Hopefully there is to filter out all the gaygets that ruin these threads
It'll filter out anyone who likes good movies too
I understand not wanting to be the Iron Man but why do the MCU if you're not gonna do a little crossovers? Like you could just make a movie about a badass black vampire slayer
Blade is better off in his own corner of the universe. Making a supernatural avengers is stupid.
They'll fricking do it anyway if it pops off; Disney has money and he'll either take more money or they'll recast him.
Win, but it doesn't matter, they'll make a Midnight Sons adaptation anyway.
The thing is, we need different MCU movies and some R-rated ones sprinkled throughout is good, especially if they go for a GOOD director and let him off the leash
Ant-Man with Edgar Wright would've been the perfect project to step away from the cookie cutter MCU bullshit we eventually got, but well
still hoping for wright to do the inevitable xmen movie
They still need to fix Ghost Rider before giving him a new movie.
ali just isn't badass enough for blade
That's a W
