basically right as the pandemic and george floyd happened a photo of the editor in chief came out of him dressed up as a puerto rican or something? anyway there was an uproar and people including Sohla told him he needed to resign. Sohla also said the problem in the place was that nobody was being paid enough, and that the only people being paid to appear in videos were the hosts. So Chris, Claire, Carla, and Molly basically and everyone else did it for free. This opened the floodgates for every single low level employee to come forward with stupid stories about how awful everyone was. Also the schizos online tried to make every staff member seem like a bad person if they weren't supporting Sohla or the cause enough. a lot of them quit eventually in solidarity, with Brad, Chris, and Andy i think being the only ones who stayed. Chris is the only one currently left.
i have individual things they tried to pin on each person of the test kitchen too. some of them were absolutely ridiculous. also Gaby came out and said Sohla was a c**t the entire time they worked together and Sohla responded with something like "sorry you feel that way, but badmouthing women is not what we need now"
i actually liked Sohla and thought she was pretty based until Gaby came out saying that she was actually a huge c**t and Sohla came after Brad like months after the fact.
This shit is pretty demoralizing. I try my hardest to be as racist and sexist as I possibly can, but despite all my efforts I will never be able to match a brown woman.

part of the entertainment is Claire being annoyed and not wanting to do things. everything in her comfy little home/studio is what she wants to do so it's only really entertaining if you're into making cakes and shit
i remember people whining in the comments all the time saying "quit stressing her out!!" or " i hated this episode because claire seems so sad and stressed!!". that's what the show basically was and her interactions with her coworkers
people should also understand that it's mostly performative. Claire isnt really going home stressing out losing sleep over making twizzlers at work.

right, i always laughed when she came back two days or sometimes weeks later and either admitted she didn't think about it once or that she completely forgot what she was working on. besides being performative i think claire was just a brat and liked to whine sometimes. i've watched the channel way too much and you pick up that she's a control freak and b***hes at everyone
