Posts like this always make me laugh because it’s projection in its purest form. You likely have unresolved childhood trauma. Please get tested for C-PTSD
>Films like Rocky tell you "you can be great if you put in the work"
Rocky was a mentally challenged neighbourhood loser whose only claim to fame was not going down in the first round against a world champion boxer because he didn't have enough brain to get concussed, and he only got that chance to be great out of pure fucking luck not hard work. What the fuck are you talking about.
>Rocky was a mentally challenged neighbourhood loser whose only claim to fame was not going down in the first round against a world champion boxer
Probably bait but he was the first boxer to ever go the distance against Creed. No one had ever gone 12 rounds with him before that and Rocky almost does. His body is screaming out to, his trainer is telling him stay down but he doesn't. He refuses because he wants to prove to himself more than anyone else that he can do it.
You wouldn't understand.
>You wouldn't understand.
Because I'm not a braindead loanshark goon willing to get brain damage to finally "amount to something". I've got better things going on.
>hurrdurr you wouldn't last against the world champion boxer
No shit, because I don't have brain damage to dampen the effects of a concussion like Rocky did.
Are you retarded or did you just get filtered? The whole point is that Rocky isn't interested in winning the fight. His only goal is to go the distance, because no one has done that with Apollo before, thereby showing to himself, and Adrian, that he isn't just some bum.
I swear to G-d you zoomers are thick as fucking pig shit. I'm actually glad that garden gnomes have manipulated you stupid cunts into chopping your dicks off. You're all genetic dead ends.
I blame all the anti bullying campaigns. They taught kids to dismiss anything even close to criticism. The goal was to make them confident, but instead it created a generation of indolent losers.

You're the one who thinks Rocky was meant to be about how you anyone can be great, rather than being a realistic story about a bum never amounting to more than a good punching bag but that's okay because he found love in a socially retarded girl. You've been brainwashed by all the sequels that Stallone only made because it was his shot at competing with Arnie as an action star in the box office, betraying the well-acted and realistic story it began as. Just as with Rambo.
>rather than being a realistic story about a bum never amounting to more than a good punching bag but that's okay because he found love in a socially retarded girl
Jesus fucking christ. This retardation is legitimately sad to read assuming that you aren't being ironic.
>look it up >Rocky is a 1976 American sports drama film directed by John G. Avildsen and written by and starring Sylvester Stallone. It is the first installment in the Rocky franchise and also stars Talia Shire, Burt Young, Carl Weathers, and Burgess Meredith. In the film, Rocky Balboa (Stallone), a poor small-time club fighter and loanshark debt collector, gets an unlikely shot at the world heavyweight championship held by Apollo Creed (Weathers).
Well that explains all the retards who think Rocky is the story of a nobody who trains really hard and becomes a champion I guess.

People clearly only read the first paragraph of the wiki article and thought it meant that Rocky ends up winning the heavyweight championship.
This anon is correct. Rocky is about proving to yourself that you're not a complete piece of shit coward, and his particular way is by getting brutally beaten and coming back for more. Afterward he doesn't care about who won, only Adrian. They can start a new life together now that he has proven to himself that he's not a quitter and is willing to try his hardest. The sequels fucked it all up. Rocky Balboa is pretty good though.
I'm sure that has nothing to do with the fact that you could literally work on an assembly line back then and afford a 5 bedroom house with a big yard and provide for a family of 4 without the wife ever having to lift a finger. Fucking boomer retard.
if you were lucky enough to get the union job at the union plant, sure, but there were still problems, and just because things were good in the US (they weren't) doesn't mean that they were good in philadelphia.
>if you were lucky enough to get the union job at the union plant, sure, but there were still problems, and just because things were good in the US (they weren't) doesn't mean that they were good in philadelphia.
Busboy jobs used to start at 1.5x minimum wage, and this was back when the point if minimum wage was that fill time minimum wage could actually pay for housing, and food, and clothing, etc.
plenty of people who worked in the equivalent of fast food restaurants of the time could live off those jobs, and many did so for decades, because the pay was decent.
>if you were lucky enough to get the union job at the union plant, sure, but there were still problems, and just because things were good in the US (they weren't) doesn't mean that they were good in philadelphia.
Philadelphia still has manufacturing jobs, and still had major manufacturing jobs up until the 1970s and 1980s.
The Budd manufacturing plant only closed in the 1990s.

Sean Strickland was basically chosen to fight the champ Israel Adesanya because he could make the fight in time. Zero people gave him a chance and said he was going to get knocked out. He went in and dominated the champion the entire fight.
It is in the sense that a massive underdog was able to bring the fight to the champion.
We're not saying it's 1:1 and his last name was Balboa too, you autist.
The defining part of Rocky is the fact that he doesn't win. He just manages to not get knocked out. If he had dominated the fight and won then it would have been forgotten as a hacky and unbelievable wish-fulfilment story.

2D waifus
sylvester stalone is objectively the most successful writer in hollywood and he still gets no respect.
wdm by respect? i tought he was doing pretty great, or do you mean oscars and that stuff
i mean things like OP and how he always has a hard time with studios like the whole Creed thing.
its a classic underdog story, whats not to like?
well yea he ran through all of philadelphia and didn't get shot once
>72 steps
Wow, what an accomplishment! Sure, you'll get exhausted if you're out of shape, but unless you're very overweight, anyone can run up those stairs.
>it's not tiring to run up 72 stairs
post your tree trunk legs. either you're ripped or you're talking about something you've never done before.
I used to live on the 8th floor and I would run up and down the stairs all the time, and that's a lot more than 72 steps.
Again, is this bait or are you being serious? Have you ever watched Rocky? What are you going on about the accomplishment of 72 steps?
It's just not hard to run up the stairs in Philly unless you're seriously out of shape. There are stairs with more than 1000 steps that people use for exercise. 72 is nothing.
I'm still confused on what you're going on about. Who said anything about running up 72 steps is an accomplishment?
What was the point in saying this?
Can you answer?
This is what normal stairs look like in my dreams where I suddenly become afraid of heights out of nowhere and have to crawl up them to keep from slipping and falling off.
Seriously, why do my dreams make me afraid of heights? I don't get it. I've fucking skydived without my pulse rising but I wake up from nightmares where I fall off a stair and my heart is racing.
It's a montage. All those locations would be over a marathon
t. ran cross country and went to school in center city philly

I wonder if this is bait or if you're actually this fucking stupid. Please respond back, thank you.
That was at the end of his run around the city. Maybe watch some films sometime, they’re a real gas.
That's what I've been trying to get out of him. Either he was shitposting, or he's an actual retard.
That`s because Rocky is the most inspiring shit ever. It just makes your heart burn with passion, you train harder, you work harder, you just feel like improving and not losing to yourself and to life.
no it made me sad knowing I’ll never get an Adrian GF

If your gonna be a baiting demoralizing gay. You may as well be a dead one

We don't have to imagine, the creed movies have plenty of that
Im really tired of this zoomer doom and gloom bullshit. Get laid you gays
It was quite inspiring at the time. We didn't have other stuff like that at that point. You'll probably not be able to understand it, zoomzoom.

It's kino. Made me visit Philadelphia with my friends which was one of the best time of my life
