I hate hays code Era movies.
I hated this ending. Even 7 years would have been a disappointment. It's crime enough the state stole everything from saul.

The alternative would be Saul free after seven years and back to ruining people. Throw in the added shit like the media scumbags salivating to getting him on shows, movies to make money from.

ok and? that is saul's default state of existence. you think he isn't gonna start scamming and brokering deals between gangs in prison?
people don't change they can only accept who they are

We found out he wasn't happy afterwards as soon as episode 1 of BCS aired, which wasn't long after the end of Breaking Bad.

      the "character development" is terrible
      >he starts out as Saul, but less skilled
      >turns in Saul, aka gets better at being a lawyer
      >gets traumatized because of shady tactics
      >somehow doubles down on them because?
      timeskip
      >not saul anymore, because?
      >gets caught
      >becomes saul
      >OH NO KIM IS GETTING SUED SHE WILL LOSE HER MIRACLE WHIP
      >goes to prison because he likes sucking dick i guess

The one thing I don't get are his small episodes of remorse during the Howard con. What was that about? Because in the end that played no role at all.

Yeah that exchange after the boxing match made me think something would come of it, but no, he really just ignored the little voice in his head and carried on with the scam.

        >starts out as saul

At least pretend you watched the show instead of getting your information from threads. Embarrassing bait

i misfrazed, he starts out as Saul, as in the Saul we see in bcs, he is basically the same
he never see saul from breaking bad make an appearance, apart from suits

He isn't the same person, Saul was never a real person at the start. He molded that persona through Howard and Chuck. Jimmy is ultimately a mirror for those around him. He was never traumatized at that point, just angry he got caught. The Gene Era was meant to showcase a person like him, even when they get out free, doesn't learn from their mistakes no matter how much they try to masquerade their actions in an attempt to live like a normal person. Which is why, when get gets tempted to commit a crime to maintain his identity, he tries to rezsoh with himself about getting away with another one only for the guilt of Chucks last words to set unto him about how he will always be Jimmy. He didn't turn himself in for Kim, but for Chuck. He only confessed after Kim did, becuase saul is a mirror of other people and won't change otherwise.

And honestly it's a good ending for him. He gets to be a king in prison because gang bangers and convicts love a guy who knows his way out of the legal system. Now hes in his natural element.

he started off as slippin jimmy the conman, he conmned his way to be a lawyer, kim eggs him on eventually saul appears to satisfy kim. Eventually lalo howard shit happens, he tries to forget about it, kim divorces him, he doubles down on saul goodman criminal lawyer criminal.
We all know what happened to saul in BB and at the start of BCS he lives on the run and works a shit job, and want to kill himself basically. He misses kim, huell and the other guys etc he is lonely bastard.

        >Gets caught
Decides to return as slippin' jimmy greatest conman there ever was
Con's the AUS the JUDGE AND OAKLEY, fricking them over so bad on national and world television.
Returns to slippin' jimmy and now he gets to see the people he missed.

Saul got caught because of his own hubris, it's literally an arc as old as humanity
