>gets stabbed with magic dagger specifically made to kill him
Yep, Merry stabs the witch king with a barrow blade and removes his protection and it fricks up his hand
does he really say "you fool"? that's incredibly lame
if you haven't watched the movies, then shut the frick up
Yeah there should be women in middle earth cause they need to reproduce, but there shouldnt be black people cause theyre a savage race, and elves are not.
The real stretch would be if a troony pulled this off and the explanation was that the spell "could tell" what its spirit animal was.
This is simple biology at work.
Eowyn the Shieldmaiden of Rohan is an awesome character. She loved Aragorn unrequitedly and then started seeking death in the battlefield. After killing the Witch-king with Merry she loved and married Faramir and became a healer. More women should be like her.
This why feminists can’t put her on pedestal.
Poor Eowyn. I want to die because of unrequited love too.
You can find love again just like Eowyn did.
thats what i said ten yesrs ago
then it happened again
It would've been more based if she'd died in battle.
bro i rewatched it yesterday
who let that shit be in the movie?
still not watching your crap Amazon fanfic
Ok, you’re a chud then, chud.
Chud
so i dont care about black elves but does it make sense? like is it possible for elves in middle earth to be black?
pls i only want high iq lore masters to answer this
the books describe elves as "beautiful" so no
Idk but as a high level lore master of real life i know that you should have a nice day troony
There's dragons and ice zombies, but Daenerys losing her mind from the bells is a stretch???
>losing her mind
lost 2 dragons
lost missandei
jon is her nephew reveal
the bells were the straw that broke the camel's back
yes
Just because it's a fantasy world doesn't mean the characters can be written in such absurd ways
That b***h always was mad. All seasons. Quart, astapor, massacre of slavetraders, khals massacre...
the bells probably reminded her how drogos balls swung around as he was raping her
Black elves already exist in Middle-Earth, anon. In Mordor, mostly. Learn to read.
You're referring to the Orcs being resurrected, corrupted Elves?
One (1) woman, a white woman
shill, BTFO
>This scene is in the book
>The shit in RoP is not
Simple as. Now frick off shill
>But no living man am I! You will never be a woman!
This is what I keep hearing tbh
Your chudness is rotting your chud brain
The full dialog actually has gravitas, because it includes the grief, humility and the filial and feudal piety of Eowyn, rather than cutting down into dumb feminist schlock.
is that shaggy's voice from scooby doo?
holy shit I am good
*autistic
you guys can't hear it?
@1:12 - "she wanted to ride with us..."
I heard it too
holy autism
damn
Good work anon. Impressive.
way better than the movie holy shit
>Strong she is and brave
TOLKIEN YOU BETA FEMINIST BASEDBOY HACK CALLING FEMOIDS STRONG AND BRAVE
that's not tolkien. nobody witnessed their fight, except merry. everybody else was down or fleeing in incoherent terror because of the witch king's aura of fear.
The floating eyes and crown are rad as frick
This part in the book really shocked me, it's like Tolkien had gone woke all of a sudden.
Yeah when I read it I started screaming and stamping my feet on the wall so my mom had to bring in the choccy milk to calm me down.
The full dialogue is awesome.
how did the libs get to tolkein so long ago? time machines??
made for big orc dingus
yes. noggits, too.
It's in the book
>another thread
grim
It's a homage to Macbeth. Kys race merchant
>but black elves is such a stretch
A young girl who is forced to grow up quickly when her parents died, grew up without a female's influence, is surrounded by alpha male warriors training day and night, wants to become a warrior herself, is rebellious and trains on her own, learns how to fight, is naturally fearless from being orphaned at such a young age, has been told by the men in her life that fighting is only for me, decides one day to be the warrior she thinks she is and marches out to battle.
The answer is, yes, that is quite believable and remarkably good character development.
Now, on the other hand, forcing current political biases where it does not exist in a landmark and beloved story is not only a mutilation of the subject matter but also a complete disrespect for the author and his vision.
And of course the mutilation is being ordered by one of the far-left billionaire oligarchical collectivists, Jeff Bezos.
This will be ignored by OP and all the homosexuals ITT.
Also in the books she makes up a fake name which is why she keeps the helmet on. Even fools Pippin until the moment she stabs the Witch King.
Also by this point she's suicidal because she loves Aragorn so much and he just entered the paths of the dead.
Faramir restores her will to live in the houses of healing where they have a romance.
Black elves are a stretch, you fricking shill. I will never ever watch this show.
Say if Peter Jackson's wife had gotten her way and Arwen showed up with the elf army in two towers how would have Arwen and Eowyn interacted? Are there any deleted scenes or anything showing this?
>Eowyn killing the Witch-king is in the books
>black Elves aren't
Yeah, it it such a stretch. Unless someone finds some old notes of Tolkien that describe a fourth tribe of elves waking up at Cuivienen, the Nigyar, it'll continue to be a load of woke bullshit.
There are the Avari who remained east where they were awoken.
The dark elves were just afraid of Orome so they ran away and refused the call of the West. They weren't a new tribe and even if they were there's no reason to think they would have different skin than the other elves. If you want to go even further, there's no reason to think that any creatures would have dark skin because the sun didn't exist until long after the elves were created so no UV rays kek
The Avari were the Noldor and Teleri who stayed behind and never journeyed to Aman. They're not black.
they're just gonna end up retconning the lore to make pale elves the product of some ancient curse, leaving the noggits and such to be named purest children of the timeless soil or some dumb shit. which would go right along with the idea of whites damning the world with their true evil nature.
The Avari are not necessarily a part of the other elven clans. It is nowhere stated that there are only 3 elven clans, only that 3 leaders were chosen to travel to Valinor and return and guide their people back.
And the elves just kind of grew up out of the earth at the time or Eru's choosing. there's no evolutionary process which would give them light or dark skin.
there's also no grounds for you to fill the blank canvas with content that doesn't fit the context. the context here being northern mythology.
A fair point and I do not contradict, only your previous arguments which were false
>It is nowhere stated that there are only 3 elven clans
In all of his writings, Tolkien only ever said there were three kindreds. The Vanyar, the Noldor and the Teleri. We know that every single one of the Vanyar went to Valinor, so that leaves chunks of the Noldor and Teleri to make up the ranks of the Avari. Tolkien was very specific about the groups of elves that existed, as well as the groups of dwarves.
Then is Christopher in error?
Broseph, this is coming from Christopher Tolkien. It's in The War of the israeliteels, where he analyzes his fathers notes on the elves's beginnings. Technically, the three kindreds went by other names before they were called to Valinor, so that chart is accurate. The Avari had already separated by the time they took on the names we're familiar with.
yes, women fighters are a part of medieval folklore. brünhilde comes to mind. subsaharan elves are not.
>but black elves is such a stretch
Yes, it is so COPE REDDIT REDDIT Black person COPE COPE REDDIT Black person COPECOPING AND POPING COPE REDDIT Black person COPE
Yes, cause Tolkien wrote that part and it's cool.
Unfortunately for you the only Blacked™ First Borns are the Orcs.
So stick it up your bum hole shill, not watching this garbage.
yes
Keep modern-day demographics out of fantasy, goddammit.
>But Toyota Corollas on the Pellenor fields is such a stretch.
TFW when you valiantly fight and survive in the War for the Ring, then get a beautiful girl.
>beautiful girl
>pic not rel
You are an absolute homosexual
get some standards. simple as.
post your standard then
That's fine because it was in the book, and it's not a "feminist" message. Her being a woman doesn't grant her any special powers, it's a creative way to use the words of a spell against the person benefitting from it. Sort of a monkey's paw thing.
First comparison I can think of is that short story where the mysterious stranger shows up offering you a million dollars if you choose to push a button. "If you push the button two things will happen. You will gain a million dollars, and *someone you don't know* will die." The character debate whether or not to push it in every version of the story, but ultimately do, but the punchline comes when the guy comes to pick up the button. "Wait! What happens to it now? Where are you taking the button." "Oh ma'am, we're going to give it to someone else now, but don't worry. I assure you, it will be *someone you don't know.*" The twist obviously being that because of the way that's worded, when whoever gets it next pushes it, you'll be the one that dies.
Witchking had a "that kid" spell. "Well I have a spell so no man can kill me!" She's being like a D&D using the words against him. It's even more satisfying from a narrative standpoint because she's doing it to avenge her uncle, she kind of has a deathwish and her being female adds an element of "She has a chance, but she's still physically frail so she could still fail!" so it works out really neatly. Tolkien was a master at building lore.
THE GODDAMN HOBBIT STABBED HIM FIRST
Aye, Merry stabbed the Witch-king of Angmar with the Dúnedain dagger which was enchanted to harm a Nazgûl. Eowyn couldn’t kill the Nazgûl without the Hobbit’s help.
strong female characters are just as ridiculous but they have been normalized for much longer
