>Chance to make a 80s/90s Adam Strange/Flash Gordon Movie with SW vibe and have a full Alien cast to showcase how immense the universe is and traveling.
>Shows a bunch of generic humans and focus really hards on some homosexualry instead of the main importance of the movie.
Even Tim Allen roasting the hell out of this for their bullshit. Brainlets....

Nasapunk aesthetic is just as kino.
It would be better if we had an ACTUAL movie instead of this mockery.
>Nasapunk
there is nothing punk about it
That would imply that Pixar actually cares about the art direction in their films rather than just making the most highly realistic backdrops instead.
Frick Pixar's environment department for putting realism above all else.
Worst part is that now they can't scale back ala Illumination and Dreamworks because audiences are so used to it now. Their films will just keep flopping one after another.
they absolutely can scale back, the one generally well-liked recent pixar movie is Luca which is very self-contained and stylistic
The budget is still unknown.
Dreamworks and Illumantion are working with 80m budgets right now.
Pixar movies are so schmaltzy they must make Spielberg blush with embarrassment
The token black dicke looks like one of the roaches from Terra formars
Saw it last week
It was interesting that the direction is more Star Trek than space opera. The animation was beautiful and I enjoyed the designs of everything that wasn't a human character or Sox.
What a generic story tho. Safe. Toothless. Maybe even a bit too high concept for the intended audience of children.
Star Trek as in classic or modern Star Trek? Because the latter IS space opera I mean
Definitely classic.
Modern Star Trek doesn't care about science. There is some real science in Lightyear.
>What a generic story tho
True, but it could have been great. It just goes to show that coming up with new interesting concepts is hard, and Buzz Lightyear is literally a parody character.
It'd be easier to come up with interesting concepts if they didn't have to limit the entirety of the cast to black people.
Character designs come much later in the production process.
You damn well know that they were upfront about the fact that the designs have to be black and also look like urban youths of the streets of LA and NY.
There's plenty to criticize about topical and creatively-bankrupt storytelling without tapping on your entrenched fragile obsessions anon.
And I don't mean you're wrong about literal brownie points as an obvious Hollywood directive, but your knee-jerk latching and priorities prove you can't really understand what's actually wrong with these modern products.

Hell no,
The majority were humans and uninteresting, they focus more on homosexualry and "muh humans" than space itself.
Don't ever compare this bullshit to Star Trek or any previous SF in general. This movie was shit
Will the torrent come out soon? I kind of want to watch it now because my best Pixar experiences of the last 10 years come from horribly lowered expectations
Even now they're still in denial about it, but I assume it will get dumped in D+ soon enough and a rip will pop up
>Even Tim Allen roasting the hell out of this
No he isn't chud
Yes he is you moron

Jesus you Disney Shills aren't even up to date lol.
All I wanted some great space journey and equivalent of Flash Gordon and Adam Strange. Except all we get bullshit
