Dark universe is alive, this time for real. Motherfrickers are doing this despite box office failures.

>Best part of a box office bomb
>So good, you get a spinoff (I know, it should have been his movie to begin with)
When has this happened before? This can't be the first time.
>tfw dark universe somehow survives because it was dead and missed the moment other cinematic universes died
Universal is stupid, no doubt about this, but the are based in their own stupidity.
Good. Maybe this time they'll call the fricking Dracula movie DRACULA so it will make some money.
Calling Dracula movie "Dracula"? Are you crazy? They will obviously call it "Jonathan Harker" and it will bomb harder than John Carter.
Nope it's called The Last Voyage Of The _______
Interesting premise but how idiotic are the naming people.
in my country it's titled 'Dracula: final travel of Demeter'
looks like your country is so full of morons they have to put dracula in the title otherwise no one would know what the movie is about
i laughed out loud at the cinema at the part they make sure to tell the audience that the Black person is le heckin smart oxford grad or whatever
what? black guy in fricking dracula episode?
They no longer care about money. They just need new monster movies to their new theme park. They literally said that Renfield box office performance will have no effects on other films planned and there are no budget or tone restrictions. They will risk burning money in order to re-establish classic monsters to their new vision.
And solely to put the monsters back into people's minds again, no commonalities between the new movies and the theme park land since the theme park land's story is that an Elvira-esque descendant of Dr. Frankenstein has decided to take over the family castle and turn it into a tourist trap with all the monsters.
Their """vision""" is to turn monsters into capeshit characters.
I'm glad tbh, he was fantastic and should have been the main focus of the movie in the first place. Here's hoping this one will be better.
Aren’t they doing Dracula’s Daughter, too? It’s so based that they won’t stop despite flopping.
It'll be the only time a remake saying "the true antagonist was intergenerational trauma" will be appropriate.
They are doing this. There's dark universe theme park based on new versions of classic monsters in construction. They need these movies to refresh IP. It's now official trademark.

Blumhouse confirmed that Universal is obsessed with these monsters and won't give up. However now instead of Marvel style, each movie will be a standalone story. They reworked their strategy and now monsters will still meet each other but only in crossovers so you don't have to know events of Frankenstein to watch Creature of Black Lagoon. No story arcs and cameos outside of official crossovers. Monsters first, universe second. No push for shared universe, they want to let it happen naturally.
Cage should just also play Van Helsing
Wasn't picrel the Dark Universe's Dracula already?
They lost rights when Legendary deal was over. Legendary kept rights. Universal only distributed it. You can get it directly from Legendary web page but can't find on Universal page.
>Motherfrickers are doing this despite box office failures.
daily reminder that morbius memes got them to put it back in theaters just to flop a second time
hes too old
Too old to play 600 years old vampire? Dracula in the novel is literally shown as old grandpa with mustache. I think Cage is perfect to play grotesque version of Bela Lugosi take. Clearly worn out and after some serious shit.
>novel
Dracula vs Powers of Darkness, Cinemaphilebro, which is best?
Neither. Polidori's 'Vampyre' as this one created the image of rich gentleman vampire Universal used for their film rather than actual 'Dracula' they titled movie after.
Alright, but I'm wondering which one between "Dracula" and "Powers of Darkness" is the best Dracula book?
Dracula. I prefer epistolary tone. It gives you feeling like you are doing some kind of investigation rather than following pre-made narrative.
Got it, thanks anon.
He's perfect age for Dracula anon
Good. Frick renfield. Bring tom cruise and nic cage together for real kino.
In addition to this, Universal releases 3 more Dracula films. The Last Voyage of The Demeter, Dracula's Daughter, Nosferatu. They will flood movie market with Dracula just like Marvel flooded it with superheroes.
Dracula is the most oversaturated public domain character in film.
Yes. And Universal is still doing more. There will be like 100 Dracula movies soon.
Wikipedia already lists over 100 Dracula movies in their "Dracula movies" category. You should be concerned about there being 200 Dracula movies soon.
There's already more than 200. Dracula and Sherlock Holmes are two most popular fictional characters in movies.
Dracula vs Sonic please
>"The movie vaguely implies that Dracula is still alive and Van Helsing could exist too somewhere i guess"
>DARK UNIVERSE CONFIRMED NIC CAGE IS BACK THIS TIME FOR REAL
That's a bit of a leap there. He didnt confirm anything.
Dark Universe is coming back tho. First as theme park but movies will probably be tied in. They trademarked the name already.
